About Property Manager/Owner
We have owned this house since 1982 and over the years have made extensive renovations that include many modern amenities. We have tried to do this while maintaining the charm of an antique house built in the late 1700's.
Why Property Manager/Owner chose Washington
This is a historic farmhouse that was owned by one of the founding members of the 7th Day Adventist Church. The original church was built on land donated by this homestead. It is both historic and comfortable and the unique touches from the past include a hand made cobler's table, a wheelwright's vice, and a wood cookstove. These historic features don't interfere with the modern kitchen, and modern electrical features, such as DSL internet and cable TV.
What makes this House unique

Spacious, clean yet charming located in rural setting. Well-appointed, reminiscent of Scandinavian summer house in American proportions! Owner 100% responsive; many good suggestions for local activities near the cabin. A friend was also thrilled by the studio apartment, perfect for one or two. Labrador Juno loved her several daily walks to the lake.
So glad you enjoyed your stay. My wife, Helene is from Norway and was delighted about your references to Scandinavian summer cottage. Hope you will visit us again.
Beautiful piece of New Hampshire
We had a great stay at the cabin. It was clean and charming and had everything we needed to really enjoy our weekend. The area was beautiful and the beach was very private and relaxing. The only complaint was the fishing was slow lol.
So glad you enjoyed your stay. I think you got a good taste of early Fall in New Hampshire. Hope you will come back and visit again.
Allan's home was beautiful and tastefully restored and decorated. Beds were extremely comfortable and the place was stocked with everything needed. We did have an issue finding the place with our GPS and was unable to contact the owner as there was no internet connection. The door was supposed to be open on our arrival but all doors were locked. Luckily the neighbor was home and able to let us in. There was noise from road traffic especially during the morning hours. The beach and lake were absolutely beautiful. Wish it were warmer for a swim. All in all, very enjoyable visit.
So glad your trip was an overall success. Very sorry that you had a problem getting into the house. I had thought I had sent you the code to the lock box but was in Spain at the time and must have slipped up. Glad our housekeeper who lives across the street was able to take care of access. Again thanks for the nice review and I am glad things worked out well.
Awesome Family Retreat
Everyone in our family group -- ages 10 weeks to 92 years -- thoroughly enjoyed Cabin in the Sky. Although there's great wi-fi and a huge DVD library, we chose non-tech fun. The house and studio offered lots of space to relax, play games, cook/share delicious meals. Canoe and lake swimming -- so refreshing! -- were highlights. Everything was clean, comfortable, fully equipped. There was an abundance of dish/cookware for our large group, along with dining spaces both indoors and out. Mattresses were comfy, making it easy to sleep late. Host Alan responded quickly and graciously to inquiries; check-in/out instructions were clear. So grateful for the opportunity to stay here!
Thanks for the lovely review. Loved the multigenerational participation and the great family time you had at Cabin in the Sky. Hope you will visit us again.
Perfect place to unwind and unplug
The house is clean, the owner was very nice and the beach is right up the road from the property. I loved that the beach is private and the house had a lot of wonderful qualities. The decorations and history of the house intrigued us. We will love to come back to visit again
So glad you enjoyed Cabin in the Sky. Looking forward to your visit again. Thanks so much for your nice review.
Cabin in the Sky is Wonderful!
Our family had a terrific stay here. The house and studio gave our large group plenty of room, everything was clean and comfortable. There really was everything we needed. Just bring your food! The walk to the lake was nice through the pine forest. We did drive down with all of our supplies, then had a great time swimming and canoeing. The resident loon visited us each day, even following our kayak, amazing. Great place for a family stay. Alan is very pleasant, answered all of our questions quickly and patiently!
For your kind words. I am delighted you enjoyed your stay. Since I always strive for a 5 star review. Please let me know if there is any thing else I could have done to make your stay any better. Regards, and I hope we will see you again next year.
