The Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at the Family Cabin for a nice, cozy weekend!

We arrived to the mountains in a cloud of mist, and found this cabin to be the perfect location for a peaceful, quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. This cabin offered everything from scenic views and serene landscapes to a spacious hot tub and well kept cabin.

The cabin had everything we needed for our two night stay! And the downtown and surrounding areas offered much to see and do!

We can't wait to return and are already considering dates to visit this spring!

Judy, thank you for your hospitality! We are excited to return!

  • 5 of 5

This cozy little piece of heaven was everything our family wanted for a weekend away! Loved the hot tub and huge porch would love to come back and use the fire pit, outdoor games and walk the land and trails when it's nicer outside. This place was very cozy the kids loved their loft that was personal and full of toys we also enjoyed the family games and movies on Netflix! Will be staying again. Also is convienent located to Waynesville and Maggie valley and thirty minutes from Bryson city and Asheville where we went to the Biltmore house and road the train in Bryson city!

Never been disappointed

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd time staying here and it was great as always. Great location and the cabin is perfect for our short time there. The hot tub and fire pit are always a hit. Having a kitchen and grill are a great way to keep costs down. It's 5 minutes to shopping and 25 minutes to Cataloochee for skiing. We will be back.

Everything we wanted in a mountain getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Upon arriving, the cabin was warm and clean. Check in was simple and we were very close to everything Waynesville had to offer. Just wish we could have stayed longer. Comfortable bed and cozy little cabin. We definitely recommend and would gladly come back.

Just amazing!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin getaway was truly amazing. Everything we expected plus more! Judith was extremely accommodating and made sure that we were able to relax as soon as we arrived. There were board games, a nice spacious hot tub and fire pit for roasting marshmallows...which we took full advantage of. The kitchen had every utensil and pot you could think of. The bed....omg the bed felt like a cloud! We left feeling rejuvenated and stress free. Again, thank you so much Judith! We will be booking here again in the near future.

About Judy Howell

John and Judy Howell were working for the government in the DC area, and got married in Maggie Valley. They fell in love with the area and began to look for property. They feel completely blessed to have found this beautiful slice of heaven, which they named Howells at the Moon Farm.

Judy Howell purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Judy Howell chose Waynesville

This property is so unique. It was an old farm and in the same family until early 2000. It's on 13 acres, surrounded by meadows and forests, with spectacular mountain views. You will feel like you are isolated in nature, but are in fact minutes away from towns, shopping and activities. It is, truly, the best of both worlds. This property has hiking trails, long range mountain views, mountain streams, and privacy.

What makes this cabin unique

From the front porch of the cabin, you can sit with a glass of wine or hot cup of cocoa, and gaze at the mist in the woods and hear the leaves rustling. Just listen to the sounds of nature and watch the fireflies dance in the evening. You will forget how hectic life can be when everything here is so tranquil. The cabin is cozy and comfortable; it's charm and hominess is to be enjoyed by couples, honeymooners, or folks looking to get away. The bedroom is comfy, outfitted in soft bed linens. After a day spent hiking or shopping, you will look forward to snuggling up in your nest. The living room has games and cards, but also has TV and wireless internet for times when you want to 'plug back in'. You will love staying here; it's like your home away from home. There are streams on the property, as well as an old barn. The property will delight you and renew your spirit.
