Three bedroom 1895 Victorian brought into 21st century with an open floor plan

This home is specially oriented to families with children. The master bedroom has a king bed, the second bedroom a queen, and the third has twin bunk-beds, a twin trundle, and a full sized crib. The house is equipped with child-friendly features such as a proper high chair, a gate at the top of the stairs, and a fully enclosed patio. There is a wonderful children's playground only half a block away.

The house is a Victorian row-house built in 1895 but renovated to have an open floor plan, two-story open space with indoor balcony, and skylights everywhere. It has all modern conveniences while maintaining the charm and quality of a bygone era.

You will be on a quiet residential street, yet as centrally located as it gets.

Arrival and Departure Logistics: Check out time is 11AM, check in time 3PM. This is to allow time for the cleaners if there is a same-day change-over. If either time poses an issue please let us know, as a it is often possible to make alternative arrangements with the cleaners.

We use a code lock, so there is no need to mail or drop off keys, and you can arrive at any time of night.

What makes this house unique

Capitol Hill townhouses are quaint but tend to be very deep and narrow, and in consequence dark. This house is the antithesis of that, with its open floor plan and skylights. It is a whole-house rental, not a basement or condo, and within the context of Capitol Hill's 19th century houses, is relatively large at 1700 square feet.

Great location and awesome home!

We highly recommend staying in this lovely row home! The location couldn’t have been better and walked to almost all the sites and found ubering to the others so convenient. The street parking pass was a real plus considering parking in DC is extremely scarce and expensive. We walked to Eastern market several times and all the monuments were 30-40 minute walk away.

The home was charming and very clean. We loved the Tahari towels and linens and mattresses were so comfy. The kitchen was well stocked and we appreciated all the spices, etc. We had four adults and three children and felt very comfortable with plenty of seating. The little patio was nice to grill and enjoyed the beautiful hydrangeas, although leaves need to be raked. The games were nice to have available also.

Alex provided such helpful advice before our arrival and easily accessible and responsive to questions.

Excellent Apartment in a Great Location

This apartment was well-kept, nicely designed, and within walking distance of many of the attractions of DC (.6 mi to Union Station, 1 mile to the eastern part of the mall, 1 mile to SE DC). Alec was helpful and readily available. The bottom line is that everything was better than we had hoped for. We’d go back in a second.

Wonderful for family.

Recently renovated classic brick home with all the amenities you need for a family with young children. Three bedrooms on charming, but narrow top floor share one bathroom, so you’ll need to be comfortable in close quarters.

The house is located on a quiet friendly street less than half a block from Stanton Park and one block from Restaurant Row, a block of restaurants with tables right on the sidewalk. Capitol Hill is a historical conservation neighborhood of beautifully maintained, charming old houses. It has a small-town feel and a human scale, is cosmopolitan, and has a thriving cultural scene. The residential area closest to Washington's institutions, it is home to a large number of politicians and VIPs.
