Lovely rustic cabin in a secluded setting

  • 4 of 5

Very nice property. Owner and manager were friendly and responsive to questions. Well outfitted kitchen, nice side yard for playing, we enjoyed the fire pit nightly! Our multi- family group had a great time.

House not suitable for families with young kids

  • 2 of 5

We stayed in the house for 2017 July 4th weekend.house had several water leaks during rain and we couldn't use few rooms which made our stay difficult.Outdoor deck, patio, lawn, fireplace and grill were dirty and was not useable.Seems expensive from our experience with this property.

Pleasant stay despite some negative points

  • 3 of 5

Twelve members of my family rented this cabin for 4 days during the Holidays. We had a great time and Katie and Sandy were very nice and helpful! The cabin itself is beautiful and very cozy. The wood stove was just great and having unlimited firewood was a big plus! The location is nice and quiet and just about a 30-minute drive to Tanger Outlets. The brand new crockpot was used every day. Katie and Sandy were very nice and helpful!

However, the first members of our group to arrive at the cabin had to "shovel" the huge driveway in order to be able to park their car and to make sure that others arriving later could do the same. The towels did not smell fresh at all (is it due to the detergent used or to the fact that they were put away while not completely dry??) and some pillowcases had blood stains on them. The place would definitely need a good cleaning spree: there is a lot of dust, there were so many dead flies stuck to the kitchen fan light (above the stove) that we had to clean it prior to cooking on the stove; some liquid had obviously been spilled on the utensil rack in the kitchen drawer and had dried, so we cleaned that too. Furthermore, a group arriving with enough food for 4-5 days should find both the refrigerator and the freezer emptied and cleaned (which was not the case). Finally, there were only 8 forks while the place is supposed to accomodate up to 14 people.

All this said, we still enjoyed ourselves! However, being able to compare with the numerous other properties rented over the years, the majority of our group voted against renting this one again.

Quaint Cabin in the White Mountains

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was nearly perfect for our group on a skiing and winter hiking weekend in the White Mountains! Plenty of room for board games by the wood-fired stove, a spacious kitchen for preparing chili after the cold days outside, and four comfortable bedrooms and plenty of beds to choose from. The stay feels more like visiting an aunt's house in the mountains as opposed to a curated rental. Very cozy. The cabin is great for large family groups (as advertised), seeing as two of the bedrooms are set up with single-over-full bunk beds; there were a lot of extra beds for our group! Waterville Valley, Loon, and Cannon were each conveniently only a 20 minute drive, so you have your choice of some formidable ski resorts. Plenty of great hikes, restaurants, and small towns to explore nearby as well. For the negatives: the pantry and fridge could have probably used a cleaning, the shower on the first floor was a bit dim, and our (smaller) group would have preferred normal beds in all the rooms. Very minor complains for an all-in-all great stay! We would certainly come back again!

We had a wonderful stay in this rustic log cabin. The owners were so easy to work with and the place was beautiful. Plenty of beds, a stocked kitchen, clean and neat, with lots of character - what more could we ask for!?

Thank you for sharing your home with us!
