Superb and spacious home with 24 feet high cathedral ceilings and large windows facing the lake, elegantly furnished, original art work (partly by local artists), all natural paints, superb stereo/large flat TV for DVDs, 100% hardwood or tile floors, wool, sisal or Persian carpets, Finnish sauna, Finnish fire place and wood stove, fire pit in the garden, 50 acres woodland, ravines, waterfalls, right on the lake and with your own dock.
Also included is a daylight basement apartment with full bath, bedroom, living room, kitchen and wood/tile floors. The apartment is not rented to third parties unless you also rent the main house.
Weekly and week-end rentals for wine tours etc. available (2 day minimum); ideal for retreats, family reunions, writing your unfinished book, weddings, and more, all year round. Absolutely breathtaking in the summer, autumn, winter and spring!
This gorgeous single family, non-smoking home on the shores of Cayuga Lake has five bedrooms (one of which is very spacious with 450 sq. ft.), three bathrooms, a separate shower area on the ground level with access to a large lawn and garden with a fire pit, sauna, and more. The daylight basement apartment's living room also has a double futon which can easily serve as a 6th bedroom.
In addition to the bedrooms, with king, queen and double sized beds, the living rooms have large futons and a spare mattress so the house sleeps up to 21 if needed. (But if you come alone or as a couple, the place is still fabulous and affordable; I used to live there year round).
The main living area has 24 foot high cathedral ceiling and glass front facing the lake for a spectacular view. The adjacent dining area also looks out on the lake. And the home us surrounded by 50 acres of woods; great strolls and playing for kids.
Here is what recent customers (and now friends) had to say:
“I suspect word-of-mouth is the best form of advertisement. Perhaps I might say that in my search for Shangri-La, I found it just outside Ithaca! … Quiet, peaceful, heavenly spot. Perfect for what I needed” (Allison May 2005).
“Your house is a credit to you the detail and work you have but into it has made it an extraordinary house. I must admit that the photo's on the Internet do not do your house any justice. It is by far one of the nicest house that I have seen. Thank you again for sharing it with us.” (Aidan from Ireland, June 2004)
“My best friends all came and had the most wonderful time. The kitchen, porch, and fire pit had the amazing quality of drawing people in to a warm, cozy and happy hanging-out environment. The house is beautiful and wonderfully maintained. Everything is beautiful: the location, house, woods and nice owner, fabulous décor! Thank you so much for sharing it with me for my graduation”. (Sally April 2005).

Adjunct professor at Cornell University, now living in Switzerland for the moment, my original country. But I come back ever so often to Ithaca, which I call my home. And Cayuga Lake I call "my lake". I designed the house in part (it's a Lindal cedar) and the decorations inside, everyone says, is like a museum. Each corner, each wall, tells a story.
It is simply gorgeous. Ithaca is Gorges!

Some of my friends say I live in a museum. Lots of attention to detail, to art, to colors, etc. It is simply all round a wonderful place
This is indeed an exclusive home well suited for a vacation get away for a family or group gathering. There is plenty of room for adults and children to gather including excellent outside spaces. The beach front with well designed and maintained dock was enjoyed by all. Take your fishing equipment along and catch dozens of sunnys and perch. For those that like hiking in the woods there is plenty of opportunity.
The interior of the home is well designed and equipped. Furniture is very good quality and quite comfortable. Beds were also plentiful and comfortable. We especially appreciated the requirement that no shoes be worn inside. Disposable slippers are provided. The central air conditioning was needed and it worked well.
We would not hesitate to be guests at this property again.
Nice large home on the lake. Dock/water access is great, with a mini trail on property. Good deal of privacy except for the immediately adjacent homes. Clean house and reasonable host. Myself and my friends (5 families total), and our dog had a great time. Minutes away from the most excellent Busy Bee and the Creamery. West side of Cayuga means that you get easy access to the wineries on the east side of Seneca as well.
Anatole let us rent out his beautiful home to about 40 students for my student organization's biannual retreat weekend. The house was absolutely amazing and was able to accomodate all of us (not everyone had beds, but we knew this and brought sleeping bags and got comfortable). The living room is very spacious and allowed us all to gather together for meetings, and the outdoor space was more than enough for us to do teamwork activities outside. The kitchen is very accessible and we were able to cook for everyone comfortably. The short trail to the dock on the lake and the little waterfall were a nice touch and gave everyone the opportunity to go outside and enjoy the location. The decor is beautiful and quirky, however, there are a few fragile items on display so we had to be extremely careful of the space with so many people.
My group of 14 was returning to the area for a reunion weekend at Cornell and Krassimira woods could not have been a better place to enjoy it! The property is a bit of a hike from Cornell (~35 minutes), but it is so beautiful and spacious that we found ourselves spending a lot of our time at the house, enjoying the beautiful lakefront (with a flat lawn ideal for picnicking and a fire pit perfect for s'mores!) and the gorgeous and comfortable house interior. We visited a few wineries all within 10 minutes of the house, and partook in the incredible ice cream spot down the street - Cayuga Creamery, a must visit! Anatole was a delightful host. He provided lots of information about the house and the area, and we arrived to find the house impeccable clean and furnished with linens.
The property was truly idyllic, set back in the woods on the gorgeous lake, and even in the chilly spring weather it provided a delightful long weekend for all of us. We hope to stay here again at future gatherings!
Winter is a wonderful time to experience this amazing location right on Cayuga Lake. There is plenty of property to be explored by day, and sitting by the fire as the moon rises over the lake is an unbeatable experience at night. The inside is welcoming, warm, and very inviting. We loved the easy to use surround sound that seemed to fill the whole house and making pizza in the living-room fireplace pizza oven. This home and property exceeds expectations. Thank you so much for sharing.
Our stay in Krassamira Woods was perfect for our extended family. Highlights included family meals on the deck and lounging in the great room. The house was comfortable for everyone, toddlers to grandparents, and I want to mention that when the little ones went upstairs to bed, the adults could chat comfortably in the great room without the noise traveling--a huge bonus for families with different schedules.
Waking up in this tranquil location for a week sent us home rejuvenated and refreshed. Our family is already talking about our stay next year. Not to mention, we're pretty sure this is what heaven looks like for our beloved family dog :)
