Undisputedly the best family place on Cayuga Lake in the Heart of the Fingerlakes.

Superb and spacious home with 24 feet high cathedral ceilings and large windows facing the lake, elegantly furnished, original art work (partly by local artists), all natural paints, superb stereo/large flat TV for DVDs, 100% hardwood or tile floors, wool, sisal or Persian carpets, Finnish sauna, Finnish fire place and wood stove, fire pit in the garden, 50 acres woodland, ravines, waterfalls, right on the lake and with your own dock.
Also included is a daylight basement apartment with full bath, bedroom, living room, kitchen and wood/tile floors. The apartment is not rented to third parties unless you also rent the main house.
Weekly and week-end rentals for wine tours etc. available (2 day minimum); ideal for retreats, family reunions, writing your unfinished book, weddings, and more, all year round. Absolutely breathtaking in the summer, autumn, winter and spring!
This gorgeous single family, non-smoking home on the shores of Cayuga Lake has five bedrooms (one of which is very spacious with 450 sq. ft.), three bathrooms, a separate shower area on the ground level with access to a large lawn and garden with a fire pit, sauna, and more. The daylight basement apartment's living room also has a double futon which can easily serve as a 6th bedroom.
In addition to the bedrooms, with king, queen and double sized beds, the living rooms have large futons and a spare mattress so the house sleeps up to 21 if needed. (But if you come alone or as a couple, the place is still fabulous and affordable; I used to live there year round).
The main living area has 24 foot high cathedral ceiling and glass front facing the lake for a spectacular view. The adjacent dining area also looks out on the lake. And the home us surrounded by 50 acres of woods; great strolls and playing for kids.
Here is what recent guests (and now friends) had to say:
“I suspect word-of-mouth is the best form of advertisement. Perhaps I might say that in my search for Shangri-La, I found it just outside Ithaca! … Quiet, peaceful, heavenly spot. Perfect for what I needed” (Allison May 2005).
“Your house is a credit to you the detail and work you have but into it has made it an extraordinary house. I must admit that the photo's on the Internet do not do your house any justice. It is by far one of the nicest house that I have seen. Thank you again for sharing it with us.” (Aidan from Ireland, June 2004)
“My best friends all came and had the most wonderful time. The kitchen, porch, and fire pit had the amazing quality of drawing people in to a warm, cozy and happy hanging-out environment. The house is beautiful and wonderfully maintained. Everything is beautiful: the location, house, woods and nice owner, fabulous décor! Thank you so much for sharing it with me for my graduation”. (Sally April 2005).

Adjunct Professor at Cornell University, now living in Switzerland for the moment, my original country. But I come back to Ithaca, which I call my home, ever so often. And Cayuga Lake I call "my lake" (sorry neighbors). I designed the house in part (it's a Lindal Cedar Home). Some say that the decorations in each room some make the entire house like a museum. Each corner, each wall, tells a story.
I was originally a farmer (yes, in the Swiss alps, milking cows and making cheese). And that's why you'll find a cow bell collection inside. It's even famous: All bells from Indonesia, Sudan, Switzerland, Kenya and elsewhere got recorded to serve as sounds for movies and the like. In the meantime, I did some other things (and study) and now work at one of the specialized agencies of the United Nations. For now!
It is simply gorgeous. Ithaca is Gorges!
Some of my friends say I live in a museum. Lots of attention to detail, to art, to colors, etc. It is simply all round a wonderful place
The rest of the reviews are spot on - this place is amazing. It's also huge. We were a group of 10 and had plenty of space.
Would absolutely book it again.
We visited Krassamira Woods in the Fall for a family event. We wanted to bring everyone together from a multi-state area for a special occasion but also wanted everyone to have a vacation that was fun and interesting.
The house is perfect for a group and a destination in itself. The property seems expansive although there are other houses nearby - we explored the shores of Lake Cayuga and went jogging on the scenic and hilly driveway leading to the main road. Attractions are nearby and we visited the Taughannock Falls, a local winery, and the Cornell Campus.
Everyone night we were there we started a fire and enjoyed the beauty of the venue. The 2nd night was really fun when we discovered the Hula Hoops- everyone got to display their coordination or lack of it!
This is a great house to bring people together. We had everything we needed to prepare meals and make sure everyone was comfortable.
Anatole is a wonderful and response property owner and was easy to coordinate with.
We stayed at Krassimira Woods the first week in October - saw the leaves changing throughout the week. The house was perfect for our group of sisters and sisters-in-law - not quite ready to hike the trail through the forest, but spectacular for cooking and dining and gazing at the lake through the grandest picture windows ever! (Not to forget the dock, the fire pit, the deck, so much more). Beautiful!
Anatole was so kind to let myself and 20 other guys stay at his home for a bachelor party weekend. The house and property are beautiful. Some of the highlights for us were the kitchen, the great room with surround sound, backyard with fire pit, charcoal grill, and the short and private walk to Lake Cayuga. Although there is one very close by we found it to be very private with the woods separating the properties.
Thanks again Anatole!
This is indeed an exclusive home well suited for a vacation get away for a family or group gathering. There is plenty of room for adults and children to gather including excellent outside spaces. The beach front with well designed and maintained dock was enjoyed by all. Take your fishing equipment along and catch dozens of sunnys and perch. For those that like hiking in the woods there is plenty of opportunity.
The interior of the home is well designed and equipped. Furniture is very good quality and quite comfortable. Beds were also plentiful and comfortable. We especially appreciated the requirement that no shoes be worn inside. Disposable slippers are provided. The central air conditioning was needed and it worked well.
We would not hesitate to be guests at this property again.
Nice large home on the lake. Dock/water access is great, with a mini trail on property. Good deal of privacy except for the immediately adjacent homes. Clean house and reasonable host. Myself and my friends (5 families total), and our dog had a great time. Minutes away from the most excellent Busy Bee and the Creamery. West side of Cayuga means that you get easy access to the wineries on the east side of Seneca as well.
