A Restful Retreat In The Mountains Of Western North Carolina

Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 8

Enjoy a quiet retreat in a private wooded setting nestled in the WNC mountains, just outside of Brevard. Although you may feel remote, you'll actually be an amazing short drive to many destinations, that is sure to please anyone! The house was built in a free-flowing floor plan (all rooms connect, no hallways), which was common in rural areas. This older house has a full kitchen, dining room and large family area that has room to stretch out and relax. There are three bedrooms and a large bathroom that is built at the end of the house. The yard has a fire pit that you can enjoy and there is small charcoal grill to cook on. Under the canopy of a huge oak is a homemade picnic table and a two person swing. Here in Transylvania County we have 3 different park lands that provide miles of hiking, biking and horse trails. Fly-fishing, water tubing, rock climbing & picnicking and don't forget to view some of our 250 waterfalls. You are less than 5 miles from the Pisgah National Forest, 15 minutes to DuPont State Park and 30 minutes to Gorges State Park. If the outdoors aren't to your liking, you are just minutes away from Brevard, for dining, art/crafts, music and shops. If you get a chance, check out some of our festivals.

Very nice!!

  • 4 of 5

This place worked well for a friend weekend! It was a very hot weekend and we just used the fans and A/C units provided to keep the place cool leaving all the doors open and closing windows. One thing to note, is that the bathroom is not central, you will have to go through at least two of the rooms to get to it (only downside to this place). Fire pit was very nice with provided wood.

Home away from home (in the mountains)

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking to get away and have your own little piece of heaven in the woods look no more. Nature all around and all of the comforts you require. Junette and Mike-you were a pleasure and thank you for sharing your mountain paradise!

Perfect for our family of 5! <3

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place for our family to find some peace and quiet. We have 3 children, ages 3, 6, and 17. The backyard was perfect for the little ones to play! It was very safe and maintained. They have a swing that I think I spent about 2 hours in every morning as I sipped my coffee. We used the firepit almost every night and sat around, enjoying the smell of the woods and the camp fire. The house/cabin is older but very clean and has everything you can imagine...from extra toothpaste to foil. It kind of felt like my grandmother's house, older, but so comfortable and just relaxing. They have fans in all the windows which we enjoyed. Its in a peaceful setting, apart from other houses which we loved. You can see one house down the road but we didn't even realize someone lived there until the 2nd or 3rd day. We only had to drive 12 minutes to get to some amazing waterfalls and hikes. We also went mining for cool gemstones and rocks, as well as a 40 minute trip to Asheville one night. We are going back for sure! I met Junette and she is very nice! Very nice owners and our stay was exactly what we needed. Thank you!!!!

excellent place to stay. We loved it.

  • 5 of 5

Everything was so clean. Our hosts took excellent care to make our stay perfect. Left us welcoming snacks. House is supplied with everything you could possibly need. Lots of comfortable beds. Plenty of storage. Kitchen fully stocked. Nice cooking supplies, big refrigerator. We even saw the famous white squirrels right in the driveway. This home worked perfectly for us.
