Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cottage in Keene - The Cozy Cottage in Keene!

Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-3)

Welcome to the Cozy Cottage in the Heart of the Adirondack Mountains! It's nice to go away and feel at home. The cottage features a knotty-pine living room with futon for additional sleeping and a 40" tv w/2 usb ports. The well-equipped kitchen contains a full refrigerator/freezer, microwave, x-large toaster oven, toaster, coffee maker, glassware, silverware, plates, pots, pans, utensils, blender, crock pot, etc. The bathroom has a shower unit (no bathtub). And, the separate bedroom contains a queen-size bed with plenty of storage to unpack your suitcases, put everything away, relax, head out and enjoy. For your convenience, there is a compact washing machine, although small, to clean your clothes.

When a reply is sent that the cottage is available, the website will automatically send you an email requesting payment of one-half of the total to be sent in advance to confirm the reservation. There will be a 48 hour hold on your requested dates to allow you time with complete details on your end. When the website sends a request for the one-half payment, you will notice a 'service fee' has been added to the quoted amount. This fee goes directly to the website. When I receive notice of your payment, I will send you an email to provide you with information regarding key retrieval, directions, etc.

Your well-behaved pet is welcome but you will be responsible for clean-up and damage due to your pet. Out of curtesy to others, please do not allow your pet on the couch or the bed. Also, please bring your pet's food/water bowl plus their bedding. There is a small back yard behind the cottage to walk your dog.

The cottage is reasonably priced and contains everything you need, other than your personal belongings and food/drink. There is a convenience store within walking distance which makes going out for forgotten or wanted items very easy without having to get back in the car & drive. There are several very good restaurants and shops either within walking distance or a short drive...and the scenery is beautiful.

Thank you for looking at this listing. I hope to hear from you.

P.S. Due to internet interruptions, if you email me and do not receive a reply within 24 hours, please give me a call at 518-576-9981...thank you.

What makes this cottage unique

The kitchen gives you the option to cook meals if you would like to save money or reheat leftovers from the restaurant...very convenient. The 'in town' location allows you to walk to several shops, restaurants, etc. without having to get back into your car.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Dorothy & Ken, Thank you very much for the lovely time we had at the cozy cottage. We enjoyed it very much. The place is fantastic and you are very warm and kind people. The x-mas candies were a very pleasant (and delicious) surprise! Thank you for all the support and help with the snow...it was the most snow we have ever seen! Happy New Year!

Great place for a winter vacation

  • 5 of 5

Small cottage that was the perfect size for me to explore the region and enjoy the winter weather. Owner was delightful and very helpful throughout the 5 days I was there. The cottage is small but can accommodate 2-3 people easily with the bedroom along with a comfortable futon in the living room. There was wireless internet so I could work on graduate work while I was away from home. I had a great time although the weather did not cooperate. I went with the hopes of skiing but there was no snow :( I really enjoyed my stay and hope to go back again, maybe this coming winter. If I am lucky, there will be plenty of snow for all my favorite winter activities.

Cozy Cottage is aptly named

  • 4 of 5

Cozy Cottage is probably too small for a family but had everything my girlfriend needed for a week's stay in the Adirondaks. It was clean and everything was in proper working condition. I was there for hiking and the location was perfect. Less than 10 minutes to the trailheads in Keene Valley and under 1/2 hour to the ADK Loj in the other direction toward Lake Placid. Two doors down from a Stewarts which was also convenient. If you are looking for something reasonably priced but nothing too fancy I would highly recommend this.

Owner's Response: Hi Craig, I'm glad you & Paula enjoyed your stay at the cottage. I do agree with you about the cottage being too small for a family. Although there is technically enough room for 4 people to stay, I feel it is too small for 4 adults to enjoy their stay and therefore have it listed for max. occupany of 2. I thank you for your nice review. It was wonderful meeting & talking with both of you. Regards, Dorothy

Perfect location for a ADK weekend

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the cottage over Labor Day weekend and it was just what we were looking for for our ADK trip. The location is perfect for High Peaks and the conveniences of being in town. I also REALLY appreciated that it was pet-friendly because we had a great time hiking with my well-behaved lab mix. We'll hopefully be back again soon!

Wonderful stay at the cozy cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It was axcactly as showed on the website. Very nice cottage with all the convenience you need while exploring the surroundings. It was clean, well kept.Keene is a lovely village. We visited Lake Placid, hiked and went to different waterfalls in te area.

Dorothy and Ken were very nice, but kept distance so we felt very comfortable and relaxed..

We even got to make a fire and make s'mores.

We would definately return here!

Great stay and location

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is perfect for a long weekend getaway or longer in the Adirondacks. I unfortunately didn't get to meet Dorothy but everything was as described in the listing and she helpfully left some suggestions for cafes and restaurants on the table as I entered.

Would definitely recommend and look forward to staying there again.

Owner's Response: Hi Naeel, Yes, it was unfortunate that we did not meet but our schedules were different and you were here for such a short time. I thought we might get to meet on Sunday morning but you left very early. I hope you enjoyed your stay and if you return to the cottage, we will make plans to definitely meet! Best regards, Dorothy
