Enjoy arguably the finest view of any rental property in Telluride at Rivercrown 2, a luxury town home built in 2006. Rivercrown 2 directly faces Ajax peak, with an uninterrupted vista over the beaver pond and town park from the second floor great room, large outdoor deck, third floor master bedroom, and upstairs deck with hot tub. Whether you are cooking in the kitchen, relaxing in the living room, or star gazing from the decks, everything at Rivercrown 2 orients toward Telluride’s box canyon.
Named for the bend in the San Miguel river around which it curves, Rivercrown has an in-town location close to restaurants, the gondola, and trail heads. The river trail, Bear Creek trail, and beaver pond are just around the corner from the house. The house is not ski-in/out, but the gondola is, and it's an easy, fast two block walk. In winter, one can ski along the flat river trail to and from the gondola. In summer, the Bear Creek Trail begins steps from the house and heads to a beautiful waterfall. The River Trail passes directly behind the unit and leads to Town Park in a five minute walk. The heart of Main Street shopping and restaurants are three blocks away. Even closer, Smugglers Bar and Grill is around the corner, and La Marmotte restaurant a block away. Everything is easily walkable, so consider leaving a car behind. If you do bring a car, the unit has a private, heated one-car garage plus another reserved parking spot in front of it.
As of January 2015, Rivercrown 2 was one of six vacation rental homes in the town of Telluride designated as a luxury property by travel authority Andrew Harper. Upon entering the private drive and parking area, you’ll notice the beautiful stonework in a European lodge style. On each level, Rivercrown 2 features high ceilings, heated Idaho quartzite and Douglas fir floors, and oak cabinets. From ground level, enter via the one-car garage or front door into a large foyer with spiral staircase leading upstairs. The ground floor has three bedrooms and two full baths. The first guest suite has a split king bed (it can be either a king-sized bed or reconfigured as two twins) with private bathroom, including a shower/tub combination. The second guest bedroom has a king bed and attached bathroom. The third bunk room will sleep 4 adults or 6 kids in a twin/twin bunk and a full/full bunk; it shares the bathroom with the second bedroom. A stacked clothes washer and dryer is also on this level.
A spiral staircase leads to the great room that occupies the entire second floor. The kitchen, dining area, and living area orient toward the view of Ajax Peak, framed by huge sliding glass doors and 10'-12' ceilings. The full gourmet kitchen features a top-of-the-line stove and oven by Thermador, KitchenAid stainless steel dishwasher and refrigerator, a center island sink with bar seating, a large dining table for eight, and a complete set of All-Clad cookware. A gas fireplace made with Anasazi Colorado gold rock anchors the lounge area. Multiple couches and wide chairs face the fireplace and HDTV. For movie and music enjoyment, a world-class surround system (highlighted by DALI speakers) integrates seamlessly into the room. We've stocked the house with a collection of the best filmed-in-Colorado movies and, in honor of the festivals, high-fidelity recordings of bluegrass, jazz, and blues. Unlike the other Rivercrown units, #2 has a powder room on this floor. Outside on the spacious deck sit a picnic bench, grill, and seating. The freestanding, 42' natural gas grill by TwinEagles is one of the world's best. The deck is fabulous on sunny days, but it really shines during the Jazz and Bluegrass Festivals. Past guests have enjoyed listening to concerts at Town Park without leaving the deck.
The master suite occupies the entire third floor. The master bedroom features a king bed, HDTV, walk-in closet, day bed, and great views. The large master bathroom has a steam shower and oversize jetted tub. The deck off of the master bedroom has a large hot tub with a panoramic view of Ajax, Ballard, and the beaver pond. Nature watching over the beaver pond is a particular treat, especially at dawn and dusk, when the beavers head out repeatedly from their lodge, returning with branches in tow. The house has high-quality binoculars so that you can see the beavers and birds up close.
There are other Rivercrown units for rent, and all of them are nice. These are some of the things that differentiate Rivercrown 2:
1) One of just two units that directly face Ajax Peak. The other units angle toward Ballard Peak.
2) The only property with a fourth (bunk) bedroom.
3) The only property with a powder room on the great room level. Trust us, you’ll appreciate that.
4) High-end furniture, artwork, outdoor grill, and music/audio system.
5) Sound-proofing between the stairwell and master bedroom, as well as between the master bedroom and master bath.
6) Every bathroom and bed has luxury Frette linens and towels, which are featured in many of the world's top hotels.

We're a family of five who fell in love with Telluride because, for us, it is the most picturesque mountain town in America. I (the husband) grew up in the Rockies, and my father and brother live nearby in Montrose. We enjoy Telluride as much for summer activities (hiking, cycling, trail running) as for winter skiing. We have been involved in vacation rentals since 2010, and we look forward to helping guests enjoy amazing vacations in Telluride.

Rivercrown has the best view and location in Telluride. We stayed in a neighboring unit in 2012, and we were thrilled when #2 came up for sale. We bought it after several years of looking at properties in town. We think this is the perfect rental unit due to its views, location (close to Town Park, trails, the gondola, and restaurants), and luxury construction and furnishings.
Rivercrown #2 is one of the only rental properties in Telluride with a direct, unobstructed view of Telluride's box canyon (Ajax Peak). The Rivercrown complex was recently built to a high luxury standard. We have upgraded our unit, #2, to include a fourth bunk bedroom (for kids or larger groups), a powder room on the main floor, soundproofing in the master bedroom, and art commissioned from one of Telluride's top painters.
Great house with perfect amenities! Well stocked kitchen. Great open floor plan with state of the art sound system. Amazing views. Walking distance to shop and restaurants in town and a short, short walk to the gondola. Couldn't be happier with our decision to stay at this amazing home.
Despite the snow not cooperating, we had a great time in Telluride. Of course, being in the town we love was one reason, but having an awesome place to hang out was a key factor this year with the less than optimal outside conditions. Brent, the owner was a pleasure to deal with. Usually, having a maintenance problem no matter how big or small can really dampen a stay. However, Brent went out of his way to help quickly resolve things, and this actually tuned what could have been a very negative thing in to a positive one. Telluride and Rivercrown, we'll be back!
Rivercrown condo will not disappoint! The most stunning view of Telluride right out your back door! The glass wall that opens up onto the patio was amazing! The condo has everything you might need to feel totally at home. It's about 2-3 blocks from the Gondola which made it so convenient. I highly recommended this rental! It was a magical weekend. ❤️
This is a great place and excellent location. Short walk to gondola as well as great restaurants, bars and shops. Plenty of room for a large party. Clean and modern accommodations. View out of the main living room is unbelievable as seen in photo. Well organized management group and no issues all around.
Our family has been coming to Telluride during the summmer for 15 years. For the last 8 years we have stayed in Rivercrown which is the premier property and location in Telluride. Rivercrown 2 is the diamond of the 7 Rivercrown houses. The location can't be beat overlooking town park where all the concerts take place. You are located on the San Miguel river whose source is Bridal Fails Falls , of which you have a direct view along with an active beaver pond. Local hot spots, restaurants, shopping at your doorstep. You can tube or paddle board within a few hundred feet as well as a fishing pond. Rivercrown 2 was been updated to include main floor powder room and an extra bunk room ideal for adults and kids. It would be hard to find a location with this comfort , view, and privacy. It also has star of art TV's and surround sound. Super place that won't disappoint. Like being your own VIP .
We had a blast. The house is fabulous. It has great bones although somewhat dated and worn. The Sterio system was too complex and we couldn't get it to work. We didn't want to call the owner as he suggested. The system needs to be simplified. Loved the open concept. The space was perfect for our family and grandkids. It had everything we needed. Very comfortable.
