I live in Berlin Massachusetts with my wife and 3 children, and we try to make it down to Manasota Key whenever we can. I grew up in New England but I will retire on Manasota Key!
David Yildiz purchased this cottage in 2014
Dock and boat lift, easy access to the Gulf through Stump Pass.
Boat dock and a short 3 minute walk to the beach.
New HVAC system (Dec 2014) and kitchen renovation with new granite counter tops, dishwasher, stove, and updated cabinets.
Our family has been coming to Manasota Key for many summers. This is our first stay in the Cottage. Great accommodations, our dogs loved it, and the dock was perfect for our 18' boat along with my sons 14' skiff. The beach is s short stroll across the street. The A/C unit had trouble keeping up with the 90+ temperature, but the owner was quick to respond to our needs. I would recommend this cute house for future vacationers!
Had the best of both worlds in this lovely cottage--saltwater canal for our boat and beautiful sunsets just a short walk across the street to the private beach. The cottage was very comfortable for me and my husband plus our yellow lab. Completely fenced in with great outdoor living. We even had three adult guests stay for a night with plenty of additional room for all of us to sleep comfortably.
David, the homeowner, responded to all our requests and/or questions immediately and was very helpful during our stay.
The location was perfect; we will be back again!
My husband and I had a great 5 weeks on Manasota Key and thoroughly enjoyed this property. The house is perfectly situated….a stones throw from a quiet beach and a short walk to all restaurants. The house itself is perfectly appointed! Dishes, pans, kitchen utensils etc. all practically new and spotless. The kitchen is new to the house, and although there is no room for a dining table, there is a very large screened lanai with a table where we ate all our meals. The backyard is private and at the end of a canal….always cool on a hot day. The outer building has a second bath….should it be needed…and a washer and dryer.
David was always available if a question came up and eager to resolve any problems.
Manasota Key is a special place….quiet, laid back….yet within easy access of a supermarket and other shopping off island. And don't miss Olde Englewood where there is a weekly Farmer’s Market and some very good restaurants.
David...thank you for sharing this rental property. It was a perfect 5 weeks and we hope to be back!
Pros: easy walk to beach and Stump Pass, cutely decorated cottage, comfortable master bed, nice and large screened back porch, attractive backyard with outdoor seating, kayak & dock, quiet area, and adequately stocked kitchen.
Cons: inadequate supply of hot water for showering (ran cool during course of shower probably related to loss of hot water through tub spigot rather than into shower head), one of the bedrooms unusable in cold weather due to lack of heat in room (window louver rusted open), and no closets in two of the three "bedrooms".
Great Florida beach home. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Loved having our own boatlift. So close to great beaches and awesome fishing.
