Please note the SATELLITE view in Google Maps
. Our private road is 0.8 miles into Broad Axe Road , note our driveway by our grass field with a veggie gardens and trellis sites. In the Satellite view, Su Casa is covered by forestry and marked by an old"Wing Shooting Argentina" location, discard it. The adjacent main home is identified by a metal roof with skylights, next to a lawn in our backyard. The pool and sundecks pass the lawn are covered by trees. Two neighbor sites are seen north and east of the property. The two only homesites are served by a private road and are adjacent to 15 acres pasture. The remaining map area has but the hills of the Virginia countryside crossed by the Mechums River, making the the West and North boundaries of the Buck Elbow Farm, a 190 acres ,mostly forested private property with only four homes and not in active development
MORE ABOUT THE LAND
Our property includes 2 acres for the house and Su Casa, the North lawn, pool gardens and the West grass fields.. The rest of our 7.7 acres lot is covered by tall hardwood forest in three hollows surrounding the main home and Su Casa; the buildings are sited in a natural promontory, saved from flooding and wind storms. Two of the wooded hollows separate us from one adjacent home site northward and from one undeveloped forest site that buffers us from Broad Axe Road.
The three properties are served by a common private road adjacent to a 15 acres open pasture, part of Buck Elbow Farm. The farm is bounded North & West by the Mechum River and its flood lands (see satellite view); like a "private moat" that separates us from 250 West
Our sounds are from a variety of songbirds, tree frogs and the occasional train. Again the SATELLITE view in Google map shows the country setting and the the forestry surrounding us. Also the convenient access to two main highways, I-64 and Rt 250, leading to the Skyline Drive or to all Charlottesville destinations
Our site is a habitat for birds and for families with children and pets. And when you have your fill, you may drive a short distance, to al Crozet services or to your favorite Charlottesville destination, or just pick up food and wine in Crozet and dine at home, in the woods, listening to the birds and tree frogs or watching the firebugs jumping at dusk
Said a guest, Su Casa, "At home in the woods"
