Beyond our expectations

  • 5 of 5

I can't begin to say enough about the willow house. The house was beautiful, the property was breath taking and there was so much to do that my kids weren't looking for a tv once while we were there. Lindy was fabulous and answered all of our questions and even helped us find an amazing restaurant to celebrate my husbands birthday We are looking forward to returning to the willow house

Only marred by the pool not heated while the weather at night was in the forties and the sixties in.

Very beautiful property. The lake or pond is beautiful but can't be used for swimming.

Owner's Response: It is our hope that this property provides a variety of outdoor activities and experiences for everyone to enjoy - be it fishing on the river or kayaking and canoeing on the pond, playing tennis or basketball, swimming in the pool or exploring the 100 private acres of Catskill woodlands of this uniquely beautiful property. We're so sorry your visit coincided with some unusually cool weather but we hope you managed to have an enjoyable and relaxing stay nonetheless!

Willow is an exceptional property, with a wide variety of activities and spaces available.

This was our second year at Willow. It is a perfect property for our family of 13, ranging in age from almost 70 to 5 months. The pool and tennis court were enjoyed by all. All but the youngest grandkids learned to kayak on the lake. The kitchen easily allowed 3 cooks to participate in meal prep and clean up. Lindy, graciously helped us navigate a power outage and the generator kept essential lights and the refrigerator running. Once again we enjoyed Brandenburg bakery and Madison Pizza. We can't wait to return to Willow next year for another great family vacation!

Special week away at the Willow House

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay for the 4th of July week. We were a group of 3 families with young children and the house was perfect for our needs. The house is large which allowed for each family to have their own space and never feel cramped (bedrooms are separated--2 upstairs, 2 on the main level and 1 removed from the living space, which allowed for families to be on different schedules). Of note there is a wonderful "playroom" which is a separate carpeted living room from the "great room" which was so helpful to keep kids corralled during dinner preparations. We were there for a week and only left the property for the 4th of July Parade and a few meals out. The kitchen is very well appointed, including an amazing pizza oven, and the fire places both inside and out made for cozy evenings. There are so many little touches that also made the house feel more like home than a rental (e.g., soap in every bathroom, laundry detergent, magazines, pool toys, outdoor activities).

Our second night there was met with a Sub-Zero fridge that wasn't cooling properly. The owner worked with us to make a locked fridge available and Lindy arranged to have a rental fridge delivered midweek. Unfortunately, the high end appliances are hard to service in this remote location especially on a holiday weekend. Lindy and the owner were extremely gracious and took our party out to dinner to apologize for the inconvenience.

One thing to be aware of is the remote nature of this property. There was extremely limited cell service and the wi-fi internet was very slow. This was good for making most of us relax, but did pose a challenge for a few trying to squeeze in some work in during the trip.

The house has a beautiful setup and very a comfortable place to stay

  • 4 of 5

This was the second time we stay at the Willow House. The first time was in the winter in January. The 7 grandchildren and parents had plenty of room. The hill was perfect for sledding in the winter and lots of room to play and not even hear them running around. It had all the conveniences that you would want. The water pump went the first morning we were there, but decided to stay because we were all looking forward to a weekend together. Lindy was more then helpful in keeping us informed to what to do. The owner was more then gracious to extend a second weekend to us. We just took the second weekend ... all had a great time, swimming, fishing, boat, playing tennis and basketball. Would recommend Willow house to anyone!
