PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

WHAT TO EXPECT: This light-filled, lower-ground floor apartment with private gated entrance is part of a listed historic building that sits opposite the private garden of Eccleston Square. Everything needed for day-to-day living . . . cafes, pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores, green markets, bakeries, health food shops, pharmacies, dry cleaners, and international newsstands . . . are all within a 2-10 minute walk.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: Greenhaven is newly refurbished by European architectural & design firms, air-conditioned/centrally heated and fully-furnished with a mix of contemporary and antique décor. By London standards it's very large (625 square feet) for a one-bed, one-bath apartment. It's designed with the idea of bringing the look and feel of the garden inside with a calm natural palette sparked by carefully placed bursts of color. Sixteen foot high ceilings and large windows in the main living/dining area contribute to its very open, light and airy feel.

LIVING/DINING AREA: The main living/dining area has a table with seating for four, a comfortable king-size sleeper sofa. The furniture is set in front of non-working fireplace and a built-in wall unit/library with a large selection of books on London, as well as English history and culture. Atop of the decorative fireplace is a 42” Smart (Internet enabled) Samsung flat-panel HDTV with separate sound bar for enhanced listening pleasure. There's access to 100+ channels, including CNN International, Sky News International and BBC World plus hundreds of movies on demand. Why Paula Harvan chose Pimlico

When searching for a property to live in, I wanted the best aspects of London at my doorstep: proximity to major sites, transportation, shopping, dining, culture and entertainment, and an upscale neighborhood with a traditional English feel. I found it in Greenhaven. An added bonus: Eccleston Square, an award-winning private garden, right is outside my front door in one of London's best areas.

From the outside of Greenhaven, the view is similar to the garden featured in the popular film Notting Hill. You see the upper branches of trees, swirls of clematis, heady explosions of climbing roses and, here and there. When you hear the birds sing in this wonderful in-town oasis, London seems to disappear -- yet all of its wonderful sights, sounds, tastes and experiences are right outside the garden gates.

Eccleston Square came about when town planner Thomas Cubitt, who developed it in 1845, had the idea of gathering everyone's back gardens together. Around the periphery, a shady walk winds though arches of wisteria and clematis. Garden buffs appreciate several unique specimen plants, including a handkerchief tree from China -- and art buffs enjoy the irises, some of which came from Monet's garden in Giverny, France. The Garden Square has won many awards not only for its botanical beauty, but also for its well-integrated features, such as several brick patios, glass conservatory, tennis court, and play and BBQ areas.

Wonderful stay in a wonderful flat

I can't imagine a more wonderful place to have stayed for our trip to London. Paula was attentive from the very moment we booked her flat. Everything was beautiful and well appointed. The location is perfect and the private garden is sublime. The icing on the cake is her willingness to recommend and then reimburse a portion of the car service from the airport. It was truly the easiest trip we have taken as a result of Paula's hospitality and commitment to excellence in her hosting. We will definitely visit again.

Owner's Response: Greenhaven London is the only vacation rental that we know that provides guests, based on the length of their stay, with either free or discounted car service pick up from the airport to the apartment. Imagine landing after a long flight and having a well-turned-out driver greet you at airport 'arrivals' and whisk you away to Greenhaven. No worries or hassles buying tickets for public transportation and waiting for trains or buses to get into London. Our door-to-door private car service service saves you and your travel companion/s time, energy and money. Most important, you start your London holiday in a most relaxed and pleasant way.

Awesome flat, great location for a longer stay in London with lots of extras included!

We stayed in this property for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it! Paula was so helpful with planning details of our trip, especially suggesting a car service to use from the airport, which was very convenient. We used the company she suggested and she provided a $15 refund in the form of an Amazon gift card! The flat itself is beautifully decorated with a really comfortable bed, great kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, and smart TV. The extras provided were one of the reasons we chose this property, and they were just as promised. There were some snacks provided, which we really appreciated, especially the day we arrived when we hadn’t gone to the grocery store yet. There is also a bottle of wine and a fully stocked bar with gin, vodka, rum, scotch, and some mixers provided as well! This was great to have a drink or two before heading out for the night to save some money on the city drink prices. We also made good use of the Nespresso coffee machine, which came with a huge selection of espresso pods and even had a milk frother to make cappuccino. One of the big draws for us was the washer and dryer available (with detergent provided) because we had already spent 6 days in Ireland before coming to London. So this allowed us to pack lighter and just wash all of our clothes when we arrived to wear them again. This property is also in a great area, walking distance from a number of great restaurants and attractions, including the private garden in the square outside! You can also walk to Victoria station in a few minutes, where you can get on the Tube or a bus to get anywhere that isn’t within walking distance. Overall, I can’t say anything negative about this flat! It was amazing and we will recommend it to anyone we know visiting London. And we hope to be able to visit London in the future and stay here again!

Really nice Flat in a great neighborhood! The owner was wonderful - She was very flexible and made sure we enjoyed our stay. Easy access to the tube and train at Victoria station and the local resturants, pubs, and shops are really nice.

This VRBO is located a few minutes walk from Victoria Station. It is on a nice tree lined street and very (pin drop) quiet. The bed was very comfortable. Between the bed and the quiet we had many nights of solid sleep. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials and there is a grocery store a few minutes walk away. A BONUS: With this VRBO you get a key to a magical private park. Enough said about that. I will leave it to you to discover the many delights that await you here.

GREAT Location! Fabulous for a couple's get away in the city.

This is our second time staying in this delightful flat. It's close to everything and makes day trips easy due to the close proximity to Victoria Station. Ella the property manager greeted us an remembered us from last year. We arrived on the Saturday of the wedding so she had the TV all set up for the wedding. We were glad we got there in time to see the best part of the ceremony! The flat is cozy and modern at the same time. We just LOVE it!! Thanks Paula!

Greenhaven is well named property

In a city where there seems to be history at nearly every turn, this property location provides excellent access. This flat is well appointed, along with the garden and neighborhood, it welcomes you back after exploring for the day.

The full bed mattress is comfortable. Like many Americans, we were used to our king, but we settled in and it worked.
