About Bonnie at the Bungalow

My husband, Kent, and I have lived in Pasadena since 1991. We love and enjoy this area with it's natural beauty, magnificent architecture, cultural events, wonderful neighborhoods, and so many things to do and see. Although living here for over 20 years we are still surprised by the treasures we find. Kent works as an optical engineer at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and I home-school our two children in this vibrant and creative community. I'm here to answer any of your questions about the area and/or The Bungalow.

Why Bonnie at the Bungalow chose Pasadena

This unique bungalow offers a bit of everything. It's location is very central . You can take pleasant walks to places you need to go, or just for fun. The 1922 craftsman bungalow style is quintessential Pasadena, which makes it very charming and attractive. It is private, quite and discrete and has been updated to include all the comforts of home.

What makes this bungalow unique

Great stay at The Bungalow

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) had a wonderful stay at the Bungalow. Our kids loved the loft. You can't beat the location, price, and amenities. It was warm so having A/C was great! Starbucks was literally behind the property. The neighborhood was quiet (minus the occasional barking of the dog next door) and safe. Bonnie was a great host and provided very detailed directions about parking and property info. We look forward to staying there again!

The bungalow is very comfortable and conveniently located.

We had a great time and couldn't have been more comfortable with two teenagers and two adults. Bonnie was helpful and communicative. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked with all necessary cooking equipment.

A great little Bungalow

  • 5 of 5

The bungalow was convenient to highways and transportation. It was block away from the Metro for a 12 minute ride to the Pasadena Convention Center. The neighborhood was nice and walkable. And the house was amazing. It was a very comfortable stay. Patio in back was private and beautiful. The kitchen was super and we were so glad to find a few coooking amenities like coffee, spices and basics that made cooking a breeze. Overall the house was really cute, super clean, comfortable and the bungalow made out trip very memorable. I would highly recommend!

Cozy Bungalow!

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with our stay here. It was comfortable, clean, tastefully decorated, and well equipped. Plenty of storage space and room for the 2 of us. Bonnie was always very responsive to our questions. We felt right at home; it was a good place to unwind after full days of exploring Pasadena. We would definitely come back to stay here again.

Pros and Suggestions

  • 4 of 5

We spent two weeks in this cozy bungalow. We enjoyed our stay, but a couple things could be improved. I find it easiest to list pros, cons and suggestions.

PROS: Nice décor, authentic bungalow, convenient location with car or public transportation, great parking map, washer dryer - Bonnie's quick response when wifi wasn't working, nice ventilation with windows open, but AC and fireplace available when needed, great shower, adequate storage for luggage in bathroom

CONS/SUGGESTIONS: Early morning dog barking next door (Bonnie says the neighbor is willing to work with the dog for the future), parking machine not well lit making it difficult to use when checking in after dark (We lived in Pasadena before and had experience with the machine, but it still was very hard to figure out how to work it in the dark) -just missing a few touches from past VRBO stays - more towels, a change of sheets, some kind of confirmation that duvet and stored blankets were clean, a quart of milk, more pillow options, no information on using TV (channels, how to log on to our own streaming accounts), additional paper products - I had to buy tissues and extra paper towels. Like other guests, I would have appreciated more television options - a DVR or CD player. I also missed having access to a printer - couldn't print theater tickets we purchased or boarding passes for flight home.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your suggestions. Everything is washed, every time. There was an extra paper towel roll under the sink in the kitchen, and I usually keep extra tissues in the storage out back. If you had mentioned those things, I would have gladly supplied them, along with extra towels, and a clean set of sheets. I will investigate logging into the TV and prepare a sheet about that, it's a good idea. I am not inclined to put a printer at the Bungalow, but I would have been happy to print out something for you and brought it over, if you emailed a pdf, for instance. The neighbor did call me to say he was working with the dog, and didn't want to be a nuisance. Fingers crossed! I still hope you enjoyed the Bungalow and were comfortable there, and if you ever return to Pasadena, you are welcome back, and I will keep your requests in mind. Thank you.
