The Bungalow Pasadena offers a wonderful, comfortable, charming and convenient place to stay in Pasadena. It's likely you'll not want to leave!
My husband, Kent, and I have lived in Pasadena since 1991. We love and enjoy this area with it's natural beauty, magnificent architecture, cultural events, wonderful neighborhoods, and so many things to do and see. Although living here for over 20 years we are still surprised by the treasures we find. Kent works as an optical engineer at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and I home-school our two children in this vibrant and creative community. I'm here to answer any of your questions about the area and/or The Bungalow.
This unique bungalow offers a bit of everything. It's location is very central . You can take pleasant walks to places you need to go, or just for fun. The 1922 craftsman bungalow style is quintessential Pasadena, which makes it very charming and attractive. It is private, quite and discrete and has been updated to include all the comforts of home.
Location. Privacy. Charm. Comfort. Convenience. Connectivity.
I booked this bungalow a year ahead of time for the Rose Parade because once I saw how perfect it was, I figured that I couldn't be the only one with this idea! And it was indeed perfect. We were in walking distance of Old Pasadena, a 5 min walk from where I had grandstand tickets and a 2-3 min walk from a Starbucks and some neat counter-service restaurants. But even if you aren't here for the parade, the location and amenities are just wonderful. The bungalow is small but cozy with everything you could need. The fire was so nice to have, it was convenient to have a washer and dryer and the kitchen was well-equipped. The loft probably wouldn't be good for an elderly person as the ladder is well, a ladder! But for our teenaged kids, it was great. Add to all this the owner Bonnie being super-responsvive and helpful, and you have the ideal VRBO rental. Loved it!
The cottage is tiny but very nicely setup and very comfortable. We used the gas fireplace a lot since it was cold when we were there December 2016. The location was perfect for us in town and very walkable. I can't say enough good things about Bonnie, she was very receptive and available when we had questions. The cottage is well maintained and clean. The kitchen was very useable and well stocked we even cooked breakfast for 5 at the cottage one morning. My one complaint about the kitchen was that the frying pan was not good and to me a good frying pan is a necessary tool in the kitchen. We also thought the bed was a bit soft for our taste. But all in all we had a fabulous stay at the cottage and I would highly recommend it..
We stayed at The Bungalow while visiting our daughter for Thanksgiving. It was nice to have a nicely appointed, clean, and cute house with a kitchen to fix Thanksgiving dinner to give her a break from graduate school, as well as a place for us to all kick back and relax the rest of the week. It was perfect, and we were able to bring a little bit of home to her. And our little dog loved the fenced back yard, too! Thanks so much for everything, we look forward to staying again! It was all exactly as described, and wonderfully convenient to Caltech.
This property in a cute Craftsman Bungalow that is well maintained and decorated. The kitchen is outfitted with everything to cook in and there are numerous good food choices for either delivery or in an easy walk if you feel like relaxing. The bedroom and bathroom are well thought out to provide space to temporarily store your belongings. Our favorite times were in the morning sitting on the very private back terrace drinking coffee and planning our day. And the washer/dryer came in very handy to clean a few items. I would recommend the property and Bonnie is a great communicator.
This turned out to be the perfect space for our family. We slept comfortably and enjoyed the living space during our stay. We were happy to be at a walking distance from the California Institute of Technology, where my daughter started her freshman year. The location was ideal, since we wanted to enjoy Pasadena in every respect, and also go to Los Angeles frequently. My 19 year old son, who is a lifeguard at home in New York City, wanted to enjoy the LA beaches as well, so we combined early visits to LA cultural centers, like the Getty Villa or the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena with afternoons at Santa Monica Beach or Manhattan Beach. The Bungalow was truly a home for us, so far away from our beloved New York City.
My husband and I stayed in this adorable bungalow for several nights while visiting our son. Everything about the experience was awesome. Bonnie the host was awesome. She came personally to meet us and could not have been more helpful and concerned that all was to our liking. There is a ample space throughout the bungalow, well appointed kitchen, including bags with discount tags for the local grocery stores. We enjoyed morning coffee and afternoons on the little enclosed patio in the back. The gardens were an added bonus. The location is convenient to restaurants, the interstate and grocery stores. The bungalow was clean and very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit.
