Recently remodeled home in a quiet residential neighborhood of South Lake Tahoe. We rebuilt this place from the studs up in 2011 and were able to customize it with a relaxing mountain holiday in mind. Enjoy the open layout and cozy downstairs hideaway or the two big decks overlooking a creek.

When you are searching for a home base for your perfect Tahoe vacation a lot of things should be standard. Beautiful clean décor and furniture, a kitchen that is a pleasure to gather and cook in, a hot tub, a grill, internet access and home entertainment options. We wanted to go a step further here are some other things we offer that the others might not:

Upstairs features a large open plan kitchen and living area. Beautiful slate flooring, a fully equipped gourmet kitchen and HDTV above the gas fireplace. Send the kids downstairs to the large flat screen with Playstation 3, the foozball table or the game area. Cook up dinner on the barbecue or soak in the hot tub from the decks overlooking the creek and trees.

There are three bedrooms upstairs. A master with a king bed, remote controlled electric fireplace and its own bathroom and two rooms with queen beds, one has a slider to the back deck. Down stairs is lots of space including a forth bedroom (no closet) with a queen bed. There are also two twin futon couches. All your towels and linens are provided

Cooking is a dream here. The kitchen features alder cabinets and concrete counters. There are brand new fridgidaire appliances including a dishwasher and convection/microwave. We have included everything you could need to bake or cook up a storm. There is a waffle iron and blender for whipping up delicious treats. If you prefer to do your cooking outside we have a big natural gas grill just out the door.

Relaxing is easy with a cozy fireplace and game and reading nook. The foozball table is great fun. We are wired for entertainment with 37' and 42' HDTVs, blue ray home theater, playstation 3, ipod dock and netflicks compatible wifi through out the house.

Location is key and this is a good one. Central in town you are close to everything. Heavenly 10min; Sierra at Tahoe 20min; Kirkwood 35min;Casinos 10min; Beaches 5min; Shopping 5min; Golf 10min. This is a quiet, flat residential area so access is easy and the nights are quiet. The home backs to a sunny wooded area and creek. Take it all in from the two big decks.

About Duggan Smith

I came to Tahoe on vacation from Australia in 1998 and have been drawn to the place ever since. In fact I moved here permanently ten years ago and have been loving it ever since. I am lucky enough to teach snowboarding at Heavenly each winter and work in construction during the summer. My wife Angela and I feel very lucky to be able to raise our two kids in this amazing outdoor playground.

Nice home for families

Home was clean, well stocked and in a nice location. Owner/manager responded quick to questions. Would have been nice to have a small fire pit. The hot tub was clean and worked nicely. Only suggestion; stock some plastic cups as well for kids. Will stay again.

Peaceful and Tranquil stay

We enjoyed our stay here on your property. We appreciated the well stocked home amenities and the peaceful, tranquil surroundings. We would recommend this home to others in the future. Though we have a few suggestions:

1. Resetting the refrigerator instructions, included in welcome itinerary.

2. Replacing shower curtains in second bathroom shower( odor detected)

3. Non slip mats for Master bedroom bathtub would be helpful.

Overall, we enjoyed our visit to Lake Tahoe, especially our time spent at Sand Harbor Beach.

Great location, spacious and had all the comforts from home.

We vacation in Tahoe almost every year with extended family. Set up was great if you have kids. The downstairs has a foosball, a bedroom, couches, futons and a television for the kids to watch TV and play while the adults are relaxing upstairs. :) The kitchen had everything you can possibly need to cook meals or prepare lunch for the beach.

Great Home for a Family

We had a great time staying at this property. The location is really convenient to stores, shopping, etc. and less than 2 miles from Pope Beach (which has plenty of parking, $8 cash only!).

The kitchen in this home is one of the BEST stocked homes any of us have every rented. If you have more than four adults in your party, bring some extra toilet paper and paper towels. There is a bit of wear and tear on the carpet and walls. The neighbor is very chatty, so be prepared to say hi. All of the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Both TV's are smart TVs so that was great for the kids as well.

The owners even supply body wash, shampoo and conditioner! We appreciated the kids' booster seat, which we used for our 9-month old. Note that there is a pack 'n' play as well. The swing set kept the kids busy and out of the way :)

There were plenty of instructions and options to get a hold of someone if needed. Robin, the manager, was excellent and very responsive when we had a question about the fridge (it took a while to cool down after we stuffed it full of food and drinks that weren't all cold). There is even an extra fridge/freezer downstairs if needed.

We loved watching all of the critters from the balcony and the relaxing atmosphere. We hope to be back in the future!

House and owners are great, the neighbor isn't

The house is great shape in a good location. The owners are very nice. The neighbor is annoyed is at the slightest of sounds and will call the police.

This is a great neighborhood to be in year round. Quiet, with predominantly local residents surrounding.

In the Winter it is a short drive to all the South Shore ski resorts, snowmobiling and sledding operations. There is lots of open space both directly behind and close by the house for sledding, snow play or snow shoeing. The neighborhood is right off the main highway with flat roads for easy driving.

In the Summer the bike path route to near by beaches, restaurants and attractions runs right by. Nice hiking can be started directly from the house or a short drive away.
