Splendid westerly views and gorgeous sunsets to be enjoyed by family and friends from this tasteful Cape's spacious deck, living and dining rooms, sunroom and kitchen. Enjoy the wonderful ambiance of this easy-living floor plan with first-floor bedroom, bath, laundry area, living room with fireplace and built-ins, large dining area with wide window seat and dining table with room for 10 people. Upstairs there are two more bedrooms ( three twins and one queen) and a bathroom with a shower (no tub). The property has incredible perennial gardens with a path that leads down to the waterfront. At the waterfront, there is an Island owned by the Damariscotta River Association, which can be walked to during low tide. The island is a great place to swim during high tide. This property has a basement flat with its independent entrance that is occupied by the property manager. The property manager works during the day, and you will not see him unless you need his assistance. We have three kayaks and one canoe which are free to use during your stay. You can make arrangements with our property manager (former US coastguard employee) if you want to use them. The property is ideally positioned to explore the coast of Maine via the river, visit Pemaquid lighthouse just a few miles down the road, spend time in the picturesque town of Damariscotta (1.6 miles) or explore further afield by visiting Boothbay Harbor ( 25 minute drive), Bath (20 minute drive) or Camden (40 minute drive). Damariscotta was recently voted the #1 spot to visit in Country Living's article "40 American Towns You Haven't Heard of but Should Visit ASAP". See article at http://www.countryliving.com/life/travel/g3557/small-american-town-destinations/?src=arb_fb_d&mag=clv&dom=fb. This property is set back from a busy road 129/130, and when the windows are open you can hear the traffic - you don't notice it after some time - but if you're expecting a deafening silence throughout the day then this is not the property for you.

I rented this house for the bridesmaids for my daughter's wedding. They loved it! So cozy and inviting. They enjoyed the evenings on the deck and it was close to everything they needed. Great place!
Property was beautiful inside and out.
We enjoyed our stay a great deal. The home was lovely, the view was beautiful and the location was perfect for our family get-together. Kitchen is a bit small, but it has all of the things that you need. Owners were great to work with and even let us check in quite early. We would definitely stay here again!
Nice Property, no surprises Nishad was excellent to deal with.
Nishad was great to work with. Very helpful and good problem solving. The house was clean, nice and great location.
The problems where all created by VRBO?HOMEAWAY before I got to the property. VRBO would get ZERO stars from me if that is possible. I will do my best to never use VRBO or HOMEAWAY again. PLEASE NOTE THIS SHOULD NOT REFLECT NEGATIVELY ON NISHAD OR HIS PROPERTY. HE WAS GREAT.
Nice place at a great price!
The place was clean, nice and better than expected!
A true home away from home. Lovely view of the river. If you are up at 7am, turkeys pass the 3 deer
Owner very available, pictures all true. Lots of books and games for the kids and well stocked kitchen. Great location - lovely deck to enjoy -
Highly recommend. Lobster. Great place to enjoy all that is Maine. Pemaquid lighthouse, fort and beach; Lobster. Booth Bay harbor. Lobster.
Monhegan island. Portland. New Harbor. Shops. Galleries. Antiques. And always a home to come back to. And of course ..... lobsters!
Really enjoyed our stay
The house was clean and very pleasant with an awesome deck and a view of the Damariscotta river. We enjoyed grilling and eating out on the deck as well as going to the neighboring towns of Pemaquid, Waldoboro and Round Pond. A truly delightful part of Maine. Nishad, the owner, was quick to respond to whatever questions we had and very helpful. My only criticisms have to do with the kitchen, which was stocked only with salt and pepper and was otherwise bare. When we have stayed elsewhere, the kitchen has usually been stocked with an array of spices along with other staples like olive oil and ketchup, mustard, soy sauce and the like. It's quite annoying to have to purchase these items - and while not a big thing, it's little touches like this that make people feel well taken care of and cause them to want to come back to a place (just a suggestion, Nishad).
Thanks, Peter. Some people like that option others don't like the fact that there are used condiments in the fridge. I think the cooking oil may be a good idea. In general, most of our guest stay for one week or longer. Between June and October, we have only three reservations that are under one week. Glad you enjoyed your stay and thanks for the feedback.
