Joshua Tree is a very special place where many artists, musicians, and writers live and work (relocated from all over the U.S.). It is also the gateway to the magnificent and unique Joshua Tree National Park with excellent hiking and some of the best rock climbing in the world. The small town has a variety of restaurants, unique shops, art galleries, and entertainment. The desert landscape is vast with pure blue skies all day and star filled dark skies at night. There are a number of annual events including Music Festivals and Artist Studio Tours.
High Speed Internet, HDTV, retro record player, classic board games, books, art galleries, eating great food, artisan shopping, hiking, photography, kitch shopping, The Integratron, music festivals, music and art happenings, yoga, meditation.
Perfect. Went there to get away from the city for a few days, couldn't ask for a better place to stay. So close to town AND the park, beautiful interior. Didn't feel like a foreign environment, felt like David really put his heart into decorating the place and making his guests feel at home. The bed was so comfortable, I was tempted to steal the sheets, haha. Great big backyard, perfect for stargazing at night. Right next to Park Dr. which is the street that leads into Joshua Tree. Stay here!
We were very impressed with the cleanliness and decor of the bungalow. From the festive lights outside to the amazing display of cacti out front and the cute 50's theme inside, we were very happy! The bungalow is a short walk to town, and a 5 minute drive to the entrance of park. Great stay...would definitely rent again!
We spent a very nice and quiet weekend in bungalow 2, which was just what we needed as the both of us usually have very busy schedules. Listening to some great Frank Sinatra, starting the fireplace up and enjoying the time.....
Very cute property; you can tell the owner has a lot of pride and love for it. Great location, right next to the west entrance and well maintained. The only reason for a 4 star vs 5 is because the neighbor who shares the duplex was very rude off the bat and made us feel unwelcome on the shared parts of the property (backyards yard and area between). There is also a dangerous glass coffee table with sharp edges that cut my husbands shins up a couple times. Especially dangerous for young children and clumsy tall people (;
My mother and rented this bungalow for three weeks and absolutely loved staying there. The place is in a perfect location for those who plan on spending time in the park, and it is also a very short walk to Joshua Tree's health food store, farmer's market, yoga studio, Natural Sisters, Crossroads Cafe, JT's Coffee Roasters, a 24-hour Mexican restaurant, a few other stores and restaurants, along with the JT Visitors Center. Honestly, the location is great! I can't emphasize this enough.
And, the place is very clean, well cared for, and well-appointed. The WIFI works very well (I work via Skype, so for a working vacation, this was critical for me); there''s a turntable with some fun records; an entertaining set of board games; the furniture has a nice modern (yet retro feel); there is also nice back patio, if you feel compelled to hang out there.
A great place at a great price. We would absolutely stay there again. And, David is a wonderful host - very helpful, professional, and responsive to all of our inquiries.
Not a single regret or complaint with this rental! We're grateful to David for making our stay a success. Thanks :-).
I was in Joshua as the officiant for a wedding. I was able to enter into a very comfortable space and spend some time writing as well. Clean, organized, and the owner made himself available if I needed him. The bed was cozy and the record player and collection was awesome. It rained, thundered, and lightening the first evening and it was a fantastic display of nature looking out the windows. The natural morning light was also welcoming.
Very close to town for dining and galleries, thrift shops and park information center. Centrally located. Classic Board Games. High Speed Internet
