We are a large family who loves to travel together. The Lake Tahoe house is perfect for all of our children and grand children to be able to stay with us without feeling overcrowed. While we are there we all love to go boating, hiking, and out to the local restaurants. You'll find us also entertaining friends or playing games in the great room.
Bonnie King purchased this lodge in 2007
We have always loved Lake Tahoe and have owned rental homes on the lake before. This home was a perfect fit when we bought it because of the proximity to the lake and fun activities.
The convenience of our home is apparent as soon as you drive up to it. The lake is directly across the street with a beach that allows for us to relax on lounge chairs or paddle around Hurricane Bay on our paddle boards. You can also run to the large grocery store in less than ten minutes, or run down to the general store in five. The restaurants located close to the house are some of the best on the West Shore. You have Sunnyside for lunch and dinner, West Shore Cafe for lunch and dinner, Firesign Cafe for the best breakfast in town, there's also Jake's on Lake in Tahoe City or Wolfdale's for a really nice night out.
Mom turned 80 and her wish was to have her family all together. This house was very comfortable and cozy for all. Every room accommodated our family well! Beautiful and clean! Good location!
While this is a massive property, it nonetheless exudes a cozy feel, is beautifully appointed, and has elbow room for multiple families to experience a sense of privacy as well as camaraderie. The kitchen, which seemed to be the magnet for the whole family, had ample room for three cooks to operate at the same time. Our four-year-old grandson didn't want to leave, in part because he had his own lake and beach right across the street. Everyone in our group gave this property two thumbs up without hesitation.
Our family has used VRBO to rent vacation homes inside and outside the U.S. for a number of years and have always found the properties to be as represented and we have enjoyed them all. The week we just spent at this property, however, really stands out in terms of value, utility, and beauty both inside and out. The one acre is beautifully landscaped and leaves one with the feeling of living in the forest but with beautiful views of Lake Tahoe from most of the living and sleeping areas. Our group included seven children six years old and younger so we were pleased to find 3 cribs, two high chairs and any number of quiet bedrooms for naps throughout the house. The kitchen is beautiful and very well equipped for even the most seasoned cooks with plenty of everything to serve very large groups. We found having two barbecues and two dishwashers to be a real luxury that made meal preparation and cleanup much easier. Finally, for those with small children, the yard is perfect for games or just running around and the fencing in front as well as the electric gates makes it much easier to supervise the children. I should be embarrassed to admit that this is the first time I have responded to a request through VRBO for a review but this is such a wonderful property and we had such a great time I felt compelled to do so.
We had the best vacation. Calm, relaxed and fun. Your home was perfectly appointed for cooking inside and out. We dined in the kitchen and outside. The hot tub was great and clean and warm. The gardens, beautiful.
Great access to the beach and town. The beds were heavenly. There was plenty of room for the 10 of us and more room to spare. I highly recommend this property.
We rented this house for our corporate offsite for a few days and we all loved it. Firstly, it's right across from the lake and situated in the woods so the surroundings are great. It's a large, well appointed home with lots of great spaces for the group to mingle/hang out, but also with enough smaller areas for folks to enjoy some quiet time. The kitchen is just awesome - we had an ardent chef within our group and she made herself at home and thought the kitchen had all the right tools/equipment. We held our meetings in the great room which has soaring ceilings, lots of windows and a huge stone fireplace - it's beautiful. The furnishings in the home are very nice as well. While the home sleeps many, note that only one bedroom has two separate beds. This isn't a problem if you have a group comprised of couples, but if you have a corporate meeting with 10+ attendees like we did, some will need to share beds - not ideal. One of the bedrooms has a balcony that looks over the great room - a nice touch. You will not be disappointed if you stay at this house - we liked it so much that another group in our company booked it two weeks later.
This is the second year we have stayed at this beautiful home. It accommodates a large family and space for everyone. The round table in the kitchen seats 10 and is perfect for end of the day conversation. The large open room with a dining room table , pool table and TV is perfect for kids as well as adults. The views of the lake are amazing . The owners were easy to contact and very accommodating. Thank you for sharing your home.
