Great Spring Skiing - Mountain Getaway in the Heart of the White Mountains

Bedrooms 2
Space 900 sq ft
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

2 Bedroom, 1 bath Ski Chalet. Close to Skiing, Story Land & N. Conway Village

Mountain retreat says it all! Our A-frame home is a place where we disconnect. From the deck you can enjoy the sounds of the Eastbranch River, many birds, and the peace and quiet of the mountains. We see quite a bit of wildlife including bear, turkey, fox, an occasional deer or moose, and at night we hear owls a lot. Many nights have been spent outside enjoying time with friends and family by the fire pit. Our home is designed for the outdoor enthusiast in mind... Comfortable and casual, clean and inviting. Great front entry to store all your gear, which opens into a galley style kitchen. It's small but well stocked so you'll only really need to bring food. Spices, basic ingredients, and plenty of cookware are there for you to use. The living area has a queen sleeper sofa, leather chairs, and plenty of space for kicking your feet up and enjoying the gas fireplace after a fun day out. There is a dining table that seats 4 comfortably which looks out to Mt Kearsarge and Mt Surprise in the winter (the sun rises from this direction and is quite beautiful). The bathroom is on the main level as well. As with most A-frames, there is access to the upstairs by way of the ladder type stairs. Kids love it, however it isn't for everyone. Upstairs there are two bedrooms... one bedroom with a queen bed and the other with 2 twins. Both are small but very comfortable with tempurpedic mattresses and luxurious bedding.

If you are interested in exploring the Maine Coast, it is about a 1 hour drive. The closest airport is 1 hour away in Portland Maine. Portland has a plethora of great restaurants & bars along w/fun little backroads to explore along the coast. Skiing is abundant & close to our house. Cranmore, Attitash & Black Mtn are about 5 minutes away. Brettonwoods &d King Pine about 25 to 30 minutes, Sunday River about one hour. And there are several others that are within that one hour radius. If you're a cross country skier there are several top notch touring areas within 15 minutes of the house. Hiking & biking is right out the door & climbing (rock and Ice) are literally minutes away. Some of the best climbing in the East is about 5 minutes away. Fly Fishing, Kayaking & canoeing on the Saco River is really popular too & about 5 minutes away. For motorcyclist, Laconia Bike Week is popular & one hour away. From cooking classes to Storyland Amusement Park (both 5 minutes away).

Great spring weekend

  • 5 of 5

This place is such a fun find. It's in great shape and had everything we needed for a weekend of hiking. We enjoyed the fire pit and the great space.

Debbie is a total pro when it comes to hosting.

Perfect family ski home!

  • 5 of 5

Overall impression: CLEAN, Comfortable and cozy!! Our family of 4 stayed at this fabulous property for a spring skiing weekend. We have two girls, ages 4 and 6. The home was stocked with everything we needed, including games and movies for the kids! The home was spotless, which i really appreciated, and everyone slept well! The size is perfect for a family of 4. We spent our nights sitting in the living room in front of fire. The kids loved playing outside in the morning before skiing, and it was the perfect place to come back to after a day of skiing. Thank you for everything, we hope to be back!

We loved Debbie's cottage and working with her. She was so responsive and warm. Her cottage is delightful -- small AND perfectly outfitted with everything we needed - a lot of kitchen equipment, DVDs, books, games, and we loved the design of the house. She's decorated it beautifully. Can't wait to go back!

Cozy, Clean, & Cute

  • 5 of 5

This little chalet is perfect. Excellent location - minutes to ski mountains, downtown N. Conway, but not on a main road, so nice and quiet. Very clean and tidy. All the amenities of home. Debbie, the owner, is very attentive and doesn't seem to miss a thing! Just wished we could have stayed longer! This place would be perfect spot for any season!

Great location, cozy house

  • 5 of 5

Some friends from college and I stayed for 3 nights in this cottage and had a great time. It's a very peaceful location, but close enough to businesses and activities to have the best of both worlds. The owner Deb was also very accommodating and made us feel welcome.

Little Pine Lodge is just north of North Conway Village. Many wonderful restaurants, great outlet shopping, tons of outdoor activities. The area is especially popular with skiers, snowboarders, hikers, and ice climbers in the winter. In the summer... hiking, rock climbing, biking - both mountain and road, kayaking, canoeing, or just floating in a tube down the Saco River, and fishing of all kinds. The foliage, in my opinion, is world-class in the fall. Fryeburg Fair (first week in October) is located about 30 miles away. During the third week in June, Laconia Bike Week is a popular event (about an hours drive) which brings thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts from all over North America. If I haven't mentioned an activity you enjoy, please ask me about it. The area quite literally has something for everyone and I would be happy to help you with information regarding your interests. Just driving on our many scenic back-roads is a pleasure in itself.
