Photos and Description of this 1 bedroom holiday cottage in Moultonborough - Colonial Pines Lodge& Cottages

Sleeps 4, kitchen, bathroom, screened porch with view of Center Harbor Bay

Our five housekeeping cottages are classic New Hampshire cabins, neatly kept, simple, no-frills yet possessing an old-fashioned charm that many refer to as 'spirit-renewing'. Colonial Pines sits on the edge of picturesque Center Harbor Bay.

PLEASE NOTE WE RENT BY THE WEEK ONLY DURING JULY AND AUGUST.

THE SPACE:

Simple lakeside charm. Cottage #2 has one bedroom with a double bed and two twin day beds in the living room. The kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, oven, toaster, and a drip coffee maker. All dishes, silverware and pots and pans are provided.

Food or meals are not provided. Local supermarket is less than a mile away.

The cottage has a large screened in porch with table and chairs for dining and relaxing.

Our location is in a quiet non-commercialized area, assuring our guests of privacy. The cottages have a wonderful view of the lake and surrounding woods, and are spaced to insure privacy.

Get in touch with nature, perfect for boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming and fishing. There are few locations on the 'big lake' that offer so much privacy without a long drive to the store and services. Restaurants and groceries are only 2 minutes by car or boat. Restaurants ranging from family fast food to gourmet meals are within a couple of miles.

GUEST ACCESS:

One hundred fifty feet of sandy bathing with gradual slope, two wharves, one with diving board; swim raft, stone fireplace by lake for cook-outs, outdoor shuffle-board court, badminton, and table tennis.

Complimentary use of canoes. KAYAK RENTALS available.

There are many islands to explore by water. The harbor is protected on three sides which makes it ideal for canoeing and kayaking.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS:

We live on the property and assist our guests with check-in, boat rentals, finding local attractions, and any other way we can. One of our reviewers says it best: 'Cindy and Gary are experienced hosts who know how to welcome guests and offer assistance, but also leave space for privacy. They are genuinely nice people, and we felt completely comfortable with them'. We have new guests and guests that have been coming for over 40 years.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD:

We are within walking distance to the quaint town of Center Harbor. There are wonderful little shops in town including Keepsake Quilting, a bookstore, a grocery store, ice cream stands, restaurants and even a gazebo for band concerts on Friday evenings.

Hiking, antiquing, golfing, outlet shopping are just a few of the many activities close by.

Close to the White Mountains and Gunstock Ski area where you can enjoy many outdoor activities. There are lots of hiking trails for all abilities within a short drive.

GETTING AROUND:

Some guests bring bicycles.

A great family tradition is walking to town for ice cream on a hot summer night.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:

2-3 night minimum. Events and holiday weekends may require a longer stay.

A deep well on the property assures great drinking water.

About Gary and Cindy Kunz

Our seven bedroom lodge was built in 1915 as a private home. Cottages were built later and became Lawrence Cottages. The Luce family purchased the resort in 1960 and we continue to strive to maintain comfort and peacefulness while balancing the historical significance of waterfront housekeeping cottages.

Gary and Cindy Kunz purchased this cottage in 1960

Why Gary and Cindy Kunz chose Lake Winnipesaukee Area

A westerly exposure means sun all afternoon in our swimming area and beautiful sunsets!

Our customers (some have been returning for over 40 years now) feel there is something special about our beautiful location on this pristine lake.

What makes this cottage unique

A deep well on the property assures excellent drinking water.

Get in touch with nature, perfect for boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming and fishing for all ages. Children love to catch fish in and around the boathouse and many improve their swimming skills during their stay.

There are few locations on the 'big lake' that offer so much privacy without a long drive to the store and services. Restaurants and groceries are only 2 minutes by car or boat. Restaurants ranging from family fast food to gourmet meals are within a couple of miles.

My sister and I loved our little cottage! Clean and comfortable. Nice kitchen with pots utensils and the like and use of kayaks and canoes too. The owners and hosts were very helpful and friendly! We hope to return to this lovely spot someday!

Welcoming & relaxing

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away at Colonial Pines. Cindy and Gary were welcoming and considerate as hosts. Our adorable cottage was tidy and had everything we needed. A wonderful sandy swimming area with plenty of lakeside spaces to relax and rejuvenate. We will return for sure.

Beautiful spot on a crystal clear lake!

  • 5 of 5

Owners are super nice people! Took the mail boat from Weirs Beach...narrated tour was interesting. Also less than an hour away was Franconia Notch State Park. We hiked to the top of the Flume and down the long way past the Pond, beautiful! Lucky enough to find a craft fair in nearby Meridith; a nice town with lots of shops.

Cabins are rustic but way better than camping!!! The waterfront is perfect with stairs into the water, lots of chairs, canoes and such....

Relaxing lakeside get-away

  • 5 of 5

We just spent 4 nights in cabin 2--clean, cozy, and charming. Spent many enjoyable hours sitting and swimming at dock/boathouse. Assorted lakeside gear and other activities for kids. Canoes available for exploring the uninhabited islands just across the bay. Big rocking chairs on screened-in porch of lodge invite lazy hours of reading and quiet contemplation. Location is just minutes from groceries, several resturants and great ice cream at Dewey's. Cindy and Gary are gracious hosts. We would definitely return.
