Gorgeous view from this oceanfront duplex. You couldn't be closer to the beach. Each side of the duplex has two bedrooms and one bath and can be rented separately. Each bedroom has in it a double bed and a single bed. The interior of this charming cottage is decorated with soothing beach colors and hand painted furniture. If you rent it once, you'll be back again and again.
Amelia Island is a fabulous vacation spot for families. On the island is historic Fernandina Beach's Victorian downtown area full of shops and fabulous restaurants. The island also offers great fishing, bike trails, historic Fort Clinch State Park, an abundance of golfing and antiquing. And yes you will find surfers on this island. The duplex itself is within walking distance of main beach with its waterside playground and ocean front restaurant but also far enough down the beach for privacy and peace. The island is less than 25 minutes from the Jacksonville International Airport. Cumberland Island with its wild horses is just a short boat ride away. Pets allowed with the owner's prior permission. Some breeds not allowed.

Hi, I grew up going to Amelia Island and always wanted a place there. My whole family loves it and that includes the dog, Jazz, our border collie. I think Amelia is unique because of the victorian downtown and the beautiful wide beaches. I love biking on the island (the Katie Ride For Life is great!), swimming in the ocean, beach walking and enjoying coffee on the deck in the morning watching the dolphins or horses going by. Amelia is the last island in Florida which allows both dogs and horses on the beach. Also, even though the island is compact, it has a fabulous selection of restaurants and it is convenient to Jacksonville and the airport. Additionally, Amelia has lots of history and Fort Clinch state park.
Pam Hart purchased this cottage in 2001
The Victorian downtown, beautiful beaches, not wall to wall high rises like other areas of Florida, friendly people and this particular property as close on the beach as you can get on the island.
Drinking coffee and watching dolphins and sunrises on the ocean right outside of your window.
I stayed here with my daughter and her best friend. We loved the location. On the beach, I got up at 7am to watch the sunrise both days we were there. Each day I walked the beach (my guess 4 miles in each direction). The beach is great for walking. What's great about the beach is that dogs are allowed so everywhere you look there are dogs with thier owners enjoying the beach. As far as the duplex goes we had comfortable beds. The place is tiled and equiped with what you need. I am looking forward to coming back and staying here again. The location is great. The house is nice and will meet all of your basic needs.
I loved down town I listen to livemusic 5 diffrent places had great food in cool little restrants.
What a wonderful find! This duplex is absolutely perfect. Beautiful view, very comfortable, convenient location and Pam thought of everything you need to enjoy your stay.Sunrise on the new deck with our coffee was fantastic. Our dogs enjoyed their walks on the pet friendly beach. Each Saturday we got fresh local shrimp at the farmers market and cooked it up in the very well equipped kitchen. We found 38 sharks teeth in a week!! Very relaxing stay, Quiet, peaceful area. Can't wait to come back in March! Highly recommend this duplex.

We love this place!! The only way to get closer to the beach is to sleep on a sand dune. Enjoyed the week so much. We had everything we needed to cook at the duplex. We went to Mayport twice for fabulous shrimp from the seafood market. We let them do the cooking on those days. We can't wait to come back.
From the moment we walked into the duplex until the moment we last locked the door, we absolutely loved our stay here. It was exactly as advertised, if not better! The kids loved the sand and surf and we loved relaxing right outside the duplex under our canopy tent. Our 4 year old and 1 year old loved the low-side sand bar that appeared every afternoon. He thought it was so cool to walk out to the sandbar without being pushed down by waves. :) It was the perfect location for our family of four, plus our dog--she loved relaxing on the beach, too. We took several evening walks along the shore, visited Fort Clinch State Park, drove to the south end of the Island and visited the Omni Plantation...cooked most of our own meals, had friends visit for dinner (they were very jealous of our view and easy access to the beach), and so much more. This little slice of paradise was such a pleasure to enjoy. We will definitely be back and hope to get some family or friends to rent the other side of the building, although our neighbors for the week were wonderful. The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. Everything was clean and well-maintained. It was great having the hose to rinse off beach sand and a relaxing place on the deck to enjoy the morning sunrises and the rolling waves in the evening. The weather was great for mid-October, mid 80's most of the week. This was our first family beach vacation and I think Pam's place has converted my husband from being a "lake guy" to a "beach guy." Pam is great to work with, and we thank you for sharing your beautiful place with others. We can't wait to visit this Fernandina Beach house again!
We stayed a week in both duplexes and SO enjoyed our time in these cozy, quaint cottages! This was our first time visiting Fernandina Beach/Amelia Island and we absolutely loved the area! The beach and view from the duplex was AWESOME! The town of Fernandina was nice to visit and shop and we also went on the Amelia Island River Cruise to see and hear the history of Ft. Clinch, Fernandina, and of course, Cumberland Island! We even saw some of the wild horses on Cumberland! My family enjoyed hanging out on the deck and watching for dolphins daily and we all enjoyed cooking in both kitchens! We did go out to eat a few times...Sliders was very good and just down the road, Ms Caroline's (on Sadler) for breakfast was excellent, lunch at Leddy's Porch in downtown Fernandina was a very nice experience, and of course, Sandy Bottoms down at Main Beach was a must visit! Too much fun was had by all! Thank you for sharing your home with us!
We stayed 10 days mid-October and enjoyed wonderful weather. Cottage was clean and comfortable. The location is simply among the best. Our dog fell in love with the beach and ocean on this, her first visit. We were pleasantly surprised to have her allowed to join us for al fresco dining at Lulu's, Slider's and other restaurants whose food is outstanding. The outdoor shower option at cottage was especially appreciated for the dog. Beautiful picture window affords great ocean views from indoors. Washer and dryer indoors was another big plus. Open the door and you are literally steps from the ocean. We found 2 perfect starfish and 3 perfect sand dollars among other nice shells and even a few small shark teeth.. so we came away with lovely souvenirs. Enjoyed breathtaking sunrises and long walks on the beach without the usual summer crowds. Especially nice was the display of kites and windsocks flying in the breeze just abt 100 yrds away by another vacationer. The daily run of a couple of kite-skiers was fascinating to watch. Honeydog is asking to go again!
