Guestbook comments from the manager

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Island Pearl. The house was clean. The master bedroom was very comfortable. The main floor has a great sectional. The sliding glass doors on the main floor open up to a screen porch which gives you the feeling that your outside very nice. There was a nice cross ventilation throughout the house. The beach is walking distance. The property is quiet and secluded. Instead of going to the beach for the beautiful sunsets we relaxed up in the crews nest. NCIC was very accommodating and nice. Joseph and Yvena have been working there for many years and are extremely helpful.

Good for the price

We would rent this place again. The only things I would change is more frying pans and a working grill. We made due with the 1 small pan they had ,but being on a island and having to do most of your cooking at the house it was inconvenient. The house and island is nice and relaxing, it didn't damper our trip.

Houses &Island wer ok, RedTide is disgusting!

  • 2 of 5

The house was”OK”, the ping pong table and grill were rusted beyond safe use. The house showed some signs of wear, even a plug on the outside porch for lights was unsafe as it had clearly shorted at one point and smoked of plugged in. Pool was nice, though again pavers were clearly washed out at some point and 2 stones broken and sharp. Now the Red Tide. Going on for months, yet no mention when we booked. Like most on vacation we traveled very far to enjoy the beaches. Due to Red Tide there was no going in the water, no paddle boards no jet skis, nothing. The air near the beach smelled of dead fish and burned lungs due to Red Tide. If time permitted we would have left. It will be a long time if ever we come back to SW Fla. really sad and disgusting what is happening and no national news coverage...

Not a place we will come back to

  • 2 of 5

We stayed at the Island Pearl, the Hot water didn’t work, the smoke detectors kept on chirping all night. We would call and ask for help and it was like we were an inconvenience asking them to fix things. They never came out to help and we just gave up trying to get any help.

Then I paid for round trip transportation to and from the island and when we went to get on the boat to go back they charged us again, beware when renting a house on North Captiva they are all about the money and not about taking care of their customers.

great location

  • 4 of 5

The balcony is a little shaky but otherwise the house is great. Fully stocked with beach supplies as well as towels. The golf cart is one of the fastest on the island so if you have teenagers be careful.

Great house in a perfect location!

  • 4 of 5

Island Pearl was a beautiful home! We had 8 people staying in the house and it was a perfect size for us all! It was in a great spot(a short walk down a path to the beach!) We had a resident turtle living in front of the house that we saw each day. Having our own pool was one of the best parts of the house! The house was very cozy and the rooms were perfect for our family. Make sure to bring bug spray(the mosquitoes are awful) and charge the golf cart each night as the directions state(we got stranded a few times!) We would definitely stay at Island Pearl again!

Comfort, Views, Privacy and No Worries!

  • 5 of 5

When I was considering my first vacation in almost two decades…yes you read that right…TWO DECADES!!!! My Dear and Best Friend recommended that I stay at Island Pearl on the island of North Captiva, Florida. So I took her advice and booked a 10 day stay half a year in advance. I’m an RN at a Very busy clinic and I usually work four 12’s a week. So when it was time to head to Florida I Was Ready to get there!

My experience at Island Pearl Far exceeded what I was expecting! Yes, I looked at the pictures of Island Pearl on a DAILY basis…remember 2 decades. Upon arrival at North Captiva I was greeted by staff awaiting my arrival. I found my golf cart waiting for me and after a few minutes of golf cart driving lessons I was off to Island Pearl! The ride was so beautiful and peaceful. As I drove down Rum road and came to Oyster Shell Road where Island Pearl is located I could feel the stress leave me. The roads really are sandy lanes that run the part of the island where all the structures and homes are.

As I pulled up to Island Pearl with its palm trees swaying and birds singing, the cheery yellow exterior greeted me. I drove the cart into the “carport” and plugged the cart up to the battery charger. I first walked the grounds before heading upstairs to my new home for a week. There was a wonderful breeze that actually lasted the entire time I was there. All kinds of birds were singing, cicadas were buzzing, turtle tracks all over the place! Checked out the pool area…so nice! Nice lounge chairs and the water was beautiful and perfect temperature too! Now to head upstairs…my luggage and groceries that I purchased a few hours earlier were brought to Island Pearl by the North Captiva staff. As I got to the top of the stairs I looked out over the pool and the rest of the property at Island Pearl. What I noticed is that the pool area is at the back of the house which makes it Very private. Many of the homes on the island have the pool on the side of the house where everyone riding by can see. I really like that feature due to I wasn’t tan And I wasn’t in the greatest shape!

Swiping my key…you get a credit card like key for the house key like you would get at a hotel…I entered Island Pearl. I was very impressed at how very clean the home was! The entry level is the level with all the bedrooms. There is a master suite with its own bathroom and king size platform bed, another bedroom with a king size bed, the third room has a queen bed and the kids room (which is
