Magnificent old family home, with a second smaller home attached in a four acre compound we call Feirin De which is Gaelic for “God’s Gift”. The homes are located on a partly secluded bluff overlooking Lake Michigan with views of spectacular sunsets and white caps on windy days. The main home has an expansive deck perfect for watching the children and grandchildren (and parents and grandparents) in the 20x40 pool a few steps below that is completely fenced in for safety. The main home has five bedrooms,(two with queen sized beds) three full and two half baths, and sleeps 12 comfortably. The little or “Granny” house has one bedroom with queen sized bed, full bath, a fully equipped kitchen. There are also two fold-up cots and two sofas, each folding out to a double bed. Thus, a family can sleep 18.
In the main home there is a large living room with a fireplace and dining room that can seat 20. Our kitchen in the main home is our pride and joy. In the spring of 2016, we installed new cabinets, new flooring, new stove and a new dishwasher. Unfortunately, everyone cannot fit in there at the same time. The main home has two screened in porches, one small one off the kitchen and a large one off the living room and deck which, incidentally has a large table and a pergola at one end for delightful meals in the sun or late afternoon shade.
Both homes have washers and dryers to avoid trips to a laundromat and there is an outdoor shower to clean up after an afternoon at the beach. The beach is located 1.5 miles to the north. There is no beach below the bluff at Feirin De.
This is an idyllic place for an extended family or two small ones to have a peaceful and relaxing vacation.
