Located in a forgotten corner of Florida’s “Forgotten Coast” you will discover a serene beachfront retreat, “Soul Happy”.
Some of the most picturesque and scenic beaches along North Florida’s Gulf Coast are found on Alligator Point. Alligator Point, of Franklin County, makes up a narrow four mile long peninsula sandwiched between tranquil Alligator Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico.
Stunning and breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico are enjoyed from within the home and the large 12’x30’ screen porch. In addition, an open-air spacious beachside deck gives you a commanding ocean view because it is located on a ridge, which gently slopes up from the water’s edge. Enjoy the expansive night skies reflection off the ocean and the millions of stars! The stars are uninhibited by the light pollution experienced these days at many of Florida's beaches.
A large, fenced yard is ready for your four-legged friends to enjoy a coastal holiday with the family too. A park style charcoal BBQ grill is available for your use while you enjoy the beach & Gulf...of which is your back yard! Enjoy preparing some tasty grilled seafood, steaks, or burgers!
Also located in the backyard is a fish cleaning sink and table. Clean fish while you watch the family out on the beach or simply while you soak up the view!
Soul Happy is a user-friendly ground level home with no steps to climb! We comfortably sleep 13 guests with 2 kings, 3 queens, and a double/single bunk. The kitchen, dining, and living areas are open to each other and are appointed with furnishings that insist you sit down and relax! Enjoy watching the sunrise from the Florida room, or step out onto the spacious screened porch to enjoy your morning coffee in the swing or rocking chairs overlooking the Gulf.
Family and friends will enjoy the large 36 inch flat screened HDTV with cable and DVD/VCR as you watch your favorite sports team, TV show, or movie. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a feast for the family or a late night snack warmed in the microwave. From the large kitchen window you can catch a glimpse of Alligator Harbor just a over a block down the street.
A huge master bedroom features two king beds and one queen bed with an en-suite bathroom and shower. The other bedroom offers a queen bed and a triple bunk (double bed on the bottom, twin on the top). The second bathroom is located in the hallway and has a tub/shower. Each bedroom has a cable TV provided for your enjoyment. An additional sleeping area features a queen bed and it is located in a corner nook of the Florida room. An initial set of linens is provided for your convenience, free of charge, which includes one set of sheets per bed, and one towel, washcloth and hand towel per guest.
So….. once you arrive and settle in to your coastal retreat, now what do you do? Well…..
Have you ever watched a mother turtle lay her eggs in the moonlight, or watch baby sea turtles hatch and scurry to the water’s edge? Soul Happy is located near Alligator Harbor which is one of the world’s largest feeding grounds for the Kemp’s Ridley, the rarest and most endangered of all marine sea turtles. The unspoiled waters and beaches, including those directly in front of your beachfront retreat, Soul Happy, are valuable feeding, breeding and nesting grounds for these and other sea turtles.
If you fancy winged things, then enjoy Mother Nature’s spectacular show from the privacy of your cozy “Old Florida” beach house as you witness the annual Fall migration of raptors and monarch butterflies. Many varieties of butterflies, and birds including the American bald eagle, are commonly seen stopping among the vegetation of Soul Happy’s large and inviting ½ acre of yard and native vegetation. Only 5 minutes away is the 4065 acre Bald Point State Park, which has a diverse coastal eco-system popular as a birding and wildlife viewing destination.
Only 15 minutes away from Soul Happy is the 68,000 acre St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, established in 1931 to provide wintering habitat for migratory birds with acreage across three Florida counties. The St. Marks lighthouse, built in 1832, is still in use today. In fact, a trail of 5 historical lighthouses may be visited along a 2 hour tour of the forgotten coast.
If salt water runs in your veins, then you will be happy to know that this particular corner of the Forgotten Coast is teaming with sea life. Our waters offer a wonderful playground for boating and fishing enthusiasts. Numerous public and private landings provide easy access to the oceans, bays, rivers and harbors of this area.
If golfing is your passion, a short 10 minute drive up the road will land you at the world class golf course of St. James Bay. Another nearby golf course is Wildwood Golf Club, located in Wakulla County.
A wide array of restaurants are located nearby at Ochlockonee Bay, St. Teresa Beach, Carrabelle, St. James Bay, and even a few hundred yards away at the Alligator Point Marina.
From Soul Happy, you’re close to everything! So do nothing, or do everything…. it’s totally up to you.

We have been repeat customers - we love it and love the fenced yard and view of the ocean. It's one of the most peaceful and enjoyable vacations we have ever had. It's clean and the amenities are nice and the rooms are spacious and we hope to keep staying here annually. The property manager is very responsive and super helpful.
This was my first time at Soul Happy. I had been looking for close to a year to try and find something that was old Florida, the old Florida i remembered as a child. My family lived in Pensacola in the 60's, dad was in the Navy. My experience when looking, was Condo's and Resorts with thousands of tourist. I did not want that. Soul Happy, turned out to be exactly what i was looking for and it was "big" dog friendly, hard to find in Florida! Me and my Luigi really enjoyed our stay. It still holds the old 50's cabinets, ect. The fenced in yard was an extra bonus! The deck with the swing was ideal for just my pooch and i to enjoy quite and private outside time. Great place to eat breakfast in the morning. Luigi took a bit to except the waves crashing on the shoreline, but once he got use to it, he loved it!! There are crabs in the evening that Luigi loved to chase, the funny part is, a small crabbed scared him so bad he jumped back so far. I got the best laugh!! He left those crabs alone after that! Luigi weighs 77 lbs and that small crab got the best of him. For myself, the quite, no stress time was so needed. The sunsets and sunrises were amazing! The people i met on the beach, those with and those without dogs, were so friendly. They were like long time friends. I could go on and on, but i think that's enough. One more thing, the shower in this house is great. Just the right amount of water pressure! I slept out on the sleeping porch and that bed is so comfortable! It was hard to leave. I will be back!
This was our second time staying at Soul Happy and it was absolutely amazing again. Clean, well furnished, and feels like home. We will be back again next year. Don't change a thing. It is perfect as is.
This was our first time staying at Soul Happy and our 4th time staying in Alligator Point. We stayed for a week and really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean, with more than enough space for my husband and I and our dog, who loved sunbathing on the deck or in the grass in the fenced in yard. The yard is fantastic - trimmed and landscaped very nicely. The screened in back room is also a lovely addition for when it was drizzling rain or just to take a break from the sun. The swing on the deck overlooking the ocean was a wonderful touch. The only thing missing that would have made it more perfect would be a couple of Adirondack chairs. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and would stay again!
I can't get the them from the Movie "A Summer Place" out of my head after spending 4 days here. This is an authentic beach cottage.....like many that could be found on the East coast in New England, the Outer Banks NC, Rehobeth Maryland, etc. in earlier times. Now the Mcmansions have taken over many of these spots. We stopped going to the Outer Banks when it got too crowded and fell in love with St George Island. Have been going there since 1998. Now its getting crowded as well. Soul Happy will make not only your soul happy, but also your feet (great sandy beaches), your eyes (awesome sun ups and sun downs),your nose (ah......the fresh air), your belly (oysters anyone???) your ears ( the waves rocking you to sleep at night), and oh yes and your 4 footed friends will be in doggie nirvana also. No worries.......just kick back and relax and let time stand still. We still love St George but love can be fickle. Soul Happy will steal your heart!
My husband and I stayed at Soul Happy in October 2015 with our 3 dogs. The entire property is fenced so we could let the dogs out to potty without worrying about them running off. The house is comfortable and old-Florida style. It's on ground level so only 2 steps to get in the kitchen door, and none out the back. This was great for our elderly dog.
We loved having the breezeway to store my husband's kayak, beach chairs, etc. I think my favorite part is the deck facing the gulf. I sat out there first thing every morning admiring the Gulf and watching the dolphins.
We enjoyed our stay so much we are returning in April.
