We stayed at this villa with adult family members. It was beautifully decorated including all amenities with ample room and privacy. It was just a short walk to the lake and use of the golf cart helped get everything to the boat. Jennifer and Daniel were excellent to assist and work with us. We will certainly return for another get-away.
This was a great place to stay. Very quiet neighborhood with nice places to go for a walk. The set up is perfect for multiple families. The basement was great for hanging out and playing games and there was plenty of room for everyone. It was really nice to have the 2 kitchens! We loved being able to use the golf cart to go down to the boat slip. It was really nice to have a place to park our jet ski and get out on the lake. The location is also great. It's just a short drive to the Bridge where there are plenty of restaurants, shops and entertainment. We loved our stay and plan to be back next summer.
My stay at Smith Mountain Lake was wonderful. My family and I had an amazing time. Everyday on the water with our boat and each night in the beautiful house with a gorgeous view. The house was spectacular; the perfect accommodations for a big group. The house was flawlessly decorated and maintained. The lake itself was fun, beautiful, and a great place to create wonderful family memories. The only thing I would suggest is that the towels and sheets be upgraded. The towels are old, small, and rough. The sheets were not sets and made it difficult to make the beds. Please know I consider these small upgrades as the whole house was exquisite and I would rent the house again in a heartbeat. Thank you for making my families vacation one we will cherish forever.
Very nice villa! We found all the comforts of home! We enjoyed the downstairs kitchen. Our grandchildren say they "need" a golf cart after using the golf cart at this vacation home! Additionally, we found all of the neighbors very friendly and welcoming! We are looking forward to next year!
Spacious with superb furnishings. Access to club/pool, golf cart, and dock was a real plus. The community was very friendly and quiet. We would recommend this rental. We enjoyed meals at Jonathan's and Tuscan Tavern. There were no complaints from our family.
Smith Mountain Lake, nestled in a broad valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, covers 20,600 acres and has over 500 miles of shoreline. In such an extensive body of water, recreation abounds. Swimming, boating, jet skiing, wake boarding, and sailing are just the beginning. Spend the day getting soaked then catch some catfish or striped bass for an excellent campfire supper.
If you are lucky enough to visit between April and December, be sure to take a cruise on the Virginia Dare. The 19th century side wheeler replica offers basic sightseeing, lunch, dinner, and hors d'oeuvres cruises of the Smith Mountain Lake and its tributaries. For special events, you can even charter your own private excursion of the lake and Smith Mountain Dam.
And when you get tired of the water, enjoy golfing at one of four nearby courses or sample spirits at a local winery. Or maybe you would prefer horseback riding, guided birdwatching hikes, and stargazing with a local celestial program. Smith Mountain Lake also offers plenty of indoor entertainment, including day spas, shopping centers, boutiques, art galleries, movie theaters, and libraries.
Add the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway, National D-Day Memorial, Booker T. Washington National Monument and Park, and Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest, and you can see why Smith Mountain Lake is known as the 'Jewel of the Blue Ridge Mountains.'
