We live in Charlton, NY but we have our lake house on the other end Lake Algonquin also!

Mark and Debby Hodgkins purchased this house in 2014
We have enjoyed this lake for over 20yrs and decided to invest in this wonderful property when it became available because of the quality of the building and setting.
We love lake Algonquin because of the mountain views and the experience of the quaint town. It is not commercialized like other lakes in the Adirondacks. The lake is calm and easy to kayak and canoe on. There are beautiful eagles flying over head and tiny humming birds at the feeders. It is close enough to attractions for day trips but we can also come back to the peace and tranquility we love! The building is well done with wood floors and great windows, the bathrooms and kitchen are clean and up to date. We even have central air and a backup generator so you are always comfortable and at ease.
Charming house. Laid out well with spectacular views of lake and mountains. Hosts were very accommodating too.
We had a great fall getaway in this cozy cottage. We loved the welcome pumpkin on the front steps and all the seasonal touches inside. The cottage was spacious for the 4 of us, had comfortable furnishings and a well stocked kitchen.
We enjoyed having access to the canoe and kayaks. Paddling the lake with fall colors reflecting in the water was a special moment! The cottage was close to a lot of good hiking in the Adirondacks too.
We also really appreciated that the house is dog friendly. The fenced in area was great for night time potty breaks and the dog bowls came in handy.
Mark and Debbie were easy to reach and checked in with us upon arrival. We had a wonderful stay! Thank you!!
My wife & I stayed at this property in late September of this year. The house is beautiful, clean & well maintained. The A/C-heating system worked flawlessly. We had a bird's eye view of Lake Algonquin. At this time of year there weren't many other people around so it was peaceful & quiet. We had a good time fishing & kayaking. We found 3 beaver lodges on the far side of the small island in the lake. I saw a bald eagle swoop down & take a fish from the lake. 2 bald eagles flew directly over our heads while we were fishing. We caught many large yellow perch, a small bass & the largest pickerel I ever caught. We released them all. We just had a nice, relaxing time while we were there. I would recommend this house for a vacation at any time of the year. The only problem we had was the weak wifi connection, but we were able to go online most of the time. We really would like to go back again. Thanks Debby & Mark!
Cozy little cottage on the lake. Had everything that we needed.
Debby and Mark were very helpful. We actually lost power one day
but they have a backup generator, so we didn't miss a beat.
Took many hikes, and saw numerous waterfalls and rapids.
Had many lunches, and dinners on the deck overlooking the lake...beautiful!
Gas grill was nice as we cooked many dinners on it, just like home.
Fishing off the dock was nice and relaxing. Didn't use the canoe, or kayaks,
as they were a little heavy for us. We would definitely go back for another stay.

We had a wonderful time at this camp! The house was very clean and spacious which made the stay very relaxing even with 6 people and 2 dogs! We all enjoyed the kayaks and canoes and even went on a few hikes and to see some waterfalls. We loved using the fire pit and having coffee on the dock each morning. The house had everything we needed and more!
Located on a lovely lake in the ADK mountains in the friendly small town of Wells with plenty of swimming, kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Minutes from hiking trails with views of magnificant waterfalls, or a leisurly 3 mile walk around the lake. In the fall the local ski hill has floiage rides or in winter great downhill skking! Gore Mnt is 40 min. away for an even larger ski resort. We are also located adjacent to the NYS snowmobile trail system. Just 45 minutes from lake George or 1hr15min away from the Blue Mtn Lake Museum. Staying in is a great option too! Sit and relax on the screened porch or sit on the dock and watch the ADK loons!
