About Patrick

I have been a Broadway actor/singer/dancer for 25 years and purchased my first property in Lauderdale (inquire for that listing number) while on the national tour of Mel Brooks' 'THE PRODUCERS' at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Ft. Lauderdale. I'm originally from West Virginia, but now make my home in New York City.

Be careful with this rental

5 of us were in Ft. Lauderdale for a tennis tournament Thursday - Sunday. We left a day early - Saturday afternoon. Patrick contacted us after we left to say that the ironing board was broken, and there was a chip out of a mug, so we would not be getting our whole deposit back. Our tennis matches were at 7:30 Friday and Saturday mornings, so we did not do any ironing. I was disappointed that Patrick still kept deposit money after I emailed him.

No property is perfect, but we were there to rest, and one bedroom has a very loud A/C motor in a closet that makes it difficult to sleep in that room. There are also trains that go by during the night, so if that is bothersome to you, think twice about this home. We could not get the washing machine to work. Patrick said sometimes you have to start and restart it a few times, but that did not work for us.

The house was clean, the pool was very nice. It's a good location for a large group. I would strongly advise you to make a VERY thorough inventory of items and report any damage to Patrick upon arrival.

My husband and I stay in VRBO houses 10-12 times a year, and I found the cleaning/tidying required upon departure to be more involved than for many houses. Patrick is very communicative - I received many emails from him prior, during and after our stay about rules and requirements.

There are so many great VRBO houses in FT. Lauderdale, that I would avoid this one if we go back.

Owner's Response: BE CAREFUL OF THIS GUEST! I am disappointed this guest chose to submit a negative review after being made aware of damage that was caused by her and her guests recently. I urge travelers to read my real reviews and then compare them to this one and draw your own conclusions. Upon final departure of every guest, the housekeeping staff and property manager immediately perform a thorough inspection of the property. Upon inspecting the property after Ann’s departure, the housekeeping staff noted a couple of issues. The ironing board for the property, which is always stored in the master bedroom closet, was found in another guest bedroom and the support leg was completely broken and unrepairable. Additionally, the property iron, which is also stored in the master bedroom closet, was found on the floor in the hallway. Contrary to Ann’s assertion that no one in her party used the iron & ironing board, the evidence speaks for itself. It is not uncommon, however, for guests to deny responsibility for damages claiming the damage existed when they arrived, or hope the owner will not notice the damage at all. To deter such false claims and practices, my guest rental agreement and information sent prior to arrival, encourages guests to perform their OWN walk through of the property and report any damages within 24 hours to me or the property manager. It is unknown if Ann actually shared the rental agreement to her guests, but there was no contact from her or anyone in her party reporting any damages to the property or its contents. Similarly, Ann did not to contact my property manager for assistance with the washing machine issues during her stay, but chose to complain about it after the fact. Secondly, the support slats and legs of the frame under the king mattress in the master bedroom were broken and required immediate repair. I did not charge the guest for this repair, nor the broken mug she referred to. The guest complained about checkout procedures but could not remember a simple one to turn down the AC upon final exit & left it running at 68 degrees. In a personal letter to me this guest boasted how she prefers to stay at properties where there is NO damage deposit at all, and the only checkout procedure is “turn in the keys.” This is an alarming admission. I’m certain there are many such properties, but mine is not one of them. Based on my recent experience I cannot recommend this guest to my fellow hosts nor would I ever host this guest again.

Gorgeous large home close to everything!

My family of 8 enjoyed this exceptional vacation home as a welcome get away from the cold up north. It is a couple of minutes from the beach and other attractions and a large grocery store is 2 blocks away. The pool area is quiet and private. Has grill and dining table. House was very clean, plenty of towels, comfy beds. TV's in 4 of the 5 bedrooms. Patrick answered all our questions quickly and the entire booking process and check in was easy and painless. We would definitely book here again.

Nice Stay in Fort Lauderdale

We had a great experience staying at Patrick's place in Ft. Lauderdale. Patrick's communication skills are impeccable through the reservation/payment process and he graciously let us check in to the house early since our flights got into FLL at 9AM. The house is a lot bigger than it looks from outside! There was plenty of space inside and it was spotless upon arrival. We loved hanging out in the living room with its comfy couches and chairs. The pool had some leaf debris in it from a recent storm, but the pool guy cleaned it up the next day. The kitchen was small but functional, except it was lacking a few key condiments, like salt! The mattresses in the bedrooms could also use an upgrade. Overall, a great experience at this place- highly recommended!

Wonderful House and Awesome Location

My friends and I rented this amazing house for a 40th Birthday celebration. The house is very nice and furnished with all the amenities of home. There was 8 of us and we used all 5 bedrooms. Which were all

decorated very nice and beds were all comfortable. The house has a great floorplan. The kitchen was very well equipped. The backyard and pool were amazing. The location is very centrally located to many attractions as well. Looking forward to a

return trip soon. Patrick the owner was so great to work with. Don't look any further this is the house to stay in while in Fort Lauderdale.
