Great place for unwinding up the the beautiful Rocky Mountains!

  • 5 of 5

Everything was clean and in good working condition. The wood burning stove was one of my favorite parts and kept us nice a toasty on some cold, snowy December nights. Beautiful scenery! Would love to come back in the Summer. Rene was super friendly and accommodating!

Relaxing weekend near trails and an easy drive to Estes park

  • 5 of 5

I really loved the place. It was a lovely cabin in the woods near a trailhead. Very quiet. I plan to come back during the summer to enjoy the outdoor firepit. The owners were very helpful too.

Peaceful and restful

  • 4 of 5

The original intent was to view the eclipse. The cabin was very cozy in a lovely location, and the owners were very helpful with immediate responses. My husband fished and we hiked, we played cards, listened to great CDs and cooked amazing meals. The eclipse was disappointing as it clouded over right at the totality mark. Wish the cabin had had TV as we could have watched all the excitment. But over all, a very relaxing 2 days. We chose the guest clean up option which took longer than anticipated but thats because we are picky. Good time with dear friends. Thx owners.

Beautiful area

  • 5 of 5

Cottage is nice, could use some upgrades but we enjoyed our stay. More traffic than we thought going in front of the cottage to the trail but no big deal. Be prepared to drive or ride, you're a good ways from any town. Do watch the front doorstep. There's a stone that will completely slide off which I found out on the first morning. Sprained my ankle because of that stone which was a bummer because that ruined long hiking trips for me. Clean up process is no big deal as the washer and dryer work really well. Plenty of hot water available. Weather is unpredictable in the area, you could have sunny skies then move 10 miles down the road and raining so be prepared. Overall, a very nice trip just hope that step gets repaired ASAP, could see that as a liability if it happens to someone who likes to sue people. If we come back to area, we will probably find something a bit closer to Estes Park but we knew coming in that we would be driving a lot.

Owner's Response: Dear Guest, We are grateful for your response. Hiking can sometimes jeopardizes ones footing and the Rockies can be trying on ones ability. The property manager reviewed your suggestion but found that the step was not loose that it had gotten chipped, thankfully the landing is very wide and deep enough for solid footing. Stair is back in original order. Safe travels

Beautiful location, clean house, wonderful mountain getaway

  • 4 of 5

My family and I stayed 6 nights and very much enjoyed our stay. The location was beautiful and quiet even with the trailhead right there. There was room for our girls to run around outside - we loved the porch and deck! The house was pretty well stocked. The internet was slow and intermittent but we expected that and it didn't pose problems - it worked more than not. The trail was a beautiful hike and we enjoyed fishing, hiking and playing in the river right outside the house! The only dissatisfaction we had is that we had to haul our trash - it was inconvenient and awkward just pulling into a campground and dumping trash in their dumpsters without being a guest at the campground. I grew up in that area and understand the bear threats and problem of trash pickup, we just wish there was a little more formal arrangement for where we were supppsed to take it. Otherwise we loved the house and very much enjoyed our stay!

Owner's Response: Thank you for sharring your experiance. I understand your concern regarding the trash. Actually the Camp Ground works well with the locals as our tax dollars support the maintenance and upkeep of the campground. We also take our trash there when we are visiting the Cabin and often we sit and chat with campers and sometimes even buy wood from the camp sight host. In the mountains we are blessed to have a Mountain Strong neighborly relationship with all forest services and tourist venues. thank you for being a great guest. We hope to hear from you again.

Great cabin, wonderful location away from it all

  • 5 of 5

Loved our stay at the cabin, our boys enjoyed having the river and trail right by us as an alternative to going all the way to RMNP at times. Do yourself a favor and visit Brainard Lake and Nederland while so close to them at the cabin as well. Almost guaranteed to see bull moose at Brianard Lake. Thank you again for opening your cabin to us.
