3-Bed/3-Bath Luxury Pool House by Kona Beaches

Uniquely modern 3-bedroom home within the privacy and security of a quiet, gated neighborhood. You're just a few minutes' walk from powder-white Magic Sands beach and a few miles' drive to snorkeling at Kahaluu Beach Park, or boating and paddling activities at beautiful Keauhou Bay. Hop on a bicycle (it's included!) and grab fresh fruits and veggies, or a cup of our local Kona coffee, from any of the three nearby farmers' markets.

In October, you'll have a front-row view of the Ironman triathlete contestants as they journey down Ali'i Drive.

Return home to enjoy breathtaking sunsets and cruise ship views from the 2nd floor wraparound lanai. Cool off with a dip in the indoor-outdoor, extra-deep swimming pool amid lush landscaping, including King coconut palm trees and fragrant plumeria and gardenia. Read a good book or revel in the luxury of a catnap nestled in the backyard hammock. Interiors feature vaulted ceilings with 8ft doors throughout, gourmet kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and cherry wood cabinetry.

Take your pick from a variety of board games, children’s toys, Wii system, cable TV, DVDs and books for a quiet evening in.

At dinnertime, grill outdoors or reap the benefits of being right in the heart of Kailua-Kona village, where fresh seafood restaurants abound.

Awaken to chirping birds after a good night's sleep in any of our three en-suite bedrooms; two with king-size beds and one queen. Large comfy couch and additional mattresses provided for extra guests.

Wonderful private home near EVERYTHING!

  • 5 of 5

We walked to the beach the 1st day —- it was rocky; we should have walked a little farther ;-). The home is beautiful in a secluded neighborhood, but so easy to get to the main strip. The 3 ensuite bedrooms were perfect for our family. I’m used to humidity in the Midwest and the ceiling fans and the shaded sitting spaces on the upper lanai and beside the pool were perfect.

We booked a full-day Deluxe Volcano tour with Kailani Tours — wonderful — I highly recommend it. We drove all over the island and had awesome views of the eruptions through their telescope!

Very spacious, beautiful, modern, tropical getaway house that felt like a home.

  • 5 of 5

We have absolutely no complaints at all. The pictures on home away do no justice. The house is big. The rooms are spacious. Everything, including the floors, are concrete so it felt very cool and clean. I loved the big kitchen. We never had to search for counter space. It was incredibly well stocked and accommodating to all of our cooking needs. I have a 6 month old and the house provided a high chair. We used that high chair a lot and it was so helpful. The pool is much bigger in person than in the pictures. It was perfect for the kids. It was easy to keep an eye on the little ones because you can see the whole pool no matter where you parked you chair. They even provided pool toys, which the kids had a lot of fun with. There were lots of towels for us to use as well for both swimming and showering. We did utilize the grill. It was nice that my husband could grill and still be a part of the party because the grill is right by the pool. All in all, it was an amazing experience, and we will definitely be returning to that house very soon.

Lovely property

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I brought our son and his friend for a week in Kona. My wife commented several times about how nice the property is: well-stocked kitchen, really clean and in a quiet neighborhood. We've rented large properties before and have found that when there are a ton of bedrooms, there is a tendency for larger groups of college age renters to turn a place into a big crash pad for a cheap vacation; as a result, the properties can look like they've been "ridden hard and put away wet".This was definitely not the situation with Michelle's property. It's in great shape and is a really comfortable get-away.

One of my pet peeves when renting a nice property; you show up and realize you need to buy paper towels/napkins/coffee filters/laundry detergent/dishwasher pods/etc. Absolutely not a problem at this home. The pool is not enormous, but is really deep and if it rains really hard (which it did) it was actually very nice sitting under the covered section while the boys swam. The grill works great. There's no air conditioning, but with the lanai doors open and the fans running, it was quite comfortable. The landscaping works really well: you're actually pretty close to the neighboring property, but with the large trees and plants you feel like you're more isolated than you really are.

It really is a 5 minute walk to the nearest beach/park to watch the sunset. Quiet walk down the private road, cross the main road, and you're there. Super convenient.

We loved the property: only issue was the front door wouldn't close all the way after the heavy sideways rain we received, but it was not a big deal to just place a weight behind the door to keep it from blowing open during the night. Thanks Michelle for a great stay!

Perfect home for our group

  • 5 of 5

There were three couples that stayed the 11 nights. We found it ideal for us. Lots of room for everyone to socialize or find some private time. Nice short stroll to a couple beaches and convenient central location to drive for sight seeing. We had one additional couple join us for one night so we used the air bed - FYI it has a slow leak. Kitchen had all the pots and pans we needed and we used the bbq a lot too. The pool was refreshing and wonderful! Thank you!

Quiet and has everything

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time at the home. It is extremely quiet, ample open space, and the pool is wonderful. The home had everything we needed and had many things for the beach, including water shoes.

Location wise, house was a very short drive to Da Poke Shack (YUM) and from Kahaluu Beach Park (which has GREAT snorkeling for fish in very shallow waters)

One person mentioned small ants, we saw some, but it was because we had spilled something sweet on the counter. We removed and there was no issues.

One small thing is that the pans could be updated. They are all scratched (teflon ones), so just some new ones would be nice.

Our home is on an 0.4 acre lot in Kailua-Kona village in a quiet, private gated neighborhood that intersects with Ali'i Drive, which is a 6-mile coastline road dotted with two bays and many swimming, snorkeling & surf beaches. You can walk (1/3rd of a mile) to a few of these, and of course there is beach parking available too. We are about 3 miles from resort hotels, shopping and many restaurants of every category at either end of Ali'i Drive. Sailing, surfing, paddling, snorkeling, parasailing, deep sea fishing, glass bottom boat, hiking and biking, and luaus and hula lessons, many Kona coffee farm/tasting tours, all nearby. Our family loves the morning snorkel-sail on the Fairwinds, which docks in Keauhou Bay. For an awesome lunch with a panoramic view of the Kona coast, try Sam Choys Kai Lani. A casual dinner (kid friendly) with local brews at Kona Brewing Co. can't be beat - everything on the menu is YUMMY. If it's your first trip to Hawaii, a luau is a must (a little cheesy, yes, but fun) - the show at King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel is great family fun. Bigger beaches like Hapuna state park, the Place of Refuge historic park/hike, Captain Cook's monument in Kealakekua Bay, zip lining, helicopter tours, ATV tours and horseback riding are all less than an hour's drive. And, because our little village has a sizable population, we have the convenience of Target, Safeway, Costco, and other big chain stores too :)
