About George

Fran and I are both in the aviation industry, and plan on spending more time down here when we retire. We have kids and grandkids that love to come down here and enjoy Nana and Pops beach house.

George purchased this cottage in 2010

Why George chose North West Florida

George had to work down here several years ago, and we fell in love with the beautiful views, slow pace, and friendly atmosphere. We live in Atlanta and try to get down here every long weekend that we can. Now we have our own place right here on the beach that we would like to share with 'Yall'.

What makes this cottage unique

First and formost you will enjoy the view. You can wake up or fall asleep listening to the waves and actually see the water from bed that is less than 100 yards away. Then you will enjoy the fun, friendly, slower paced atmosphere of Mexico Beach. We love morning walks, and sunset strolls on the beach. There are several beach pubs and resturants that are within walking distance, or short ride. You can fish right on the beach in front of the house, go down to the pier, or go out for a 1/2 or full day fishing charter. Or you can go for a bike ride around Mexico Beach. (Bike, fishing polls, beach chairs and umbrellas are all furinshed with the cottage.) Within 30 minutes you can be in Appalacheecola bay, Cape Sand Blas, or Panama City. Scalloping is also fun when in season. You can also enjoy some of the worlds best oysters in this area.

Enjoyed the property; just what we needed for a wonderful week.

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed the VIEW; the SHORT walk to the beach (within a rock throw from the cottage). Enjoyed having the beach ALMOST exclusively with perhaps two couples within a 100 yards. I communed with The Lord...was refreshed...and even consider now living in Mexico Beach. George, thanks for making your cottage available. God bless.

Isle of View

  • 5 of 5

Great vacation cottage! We loved the glassed in screen room and spent every morning there drinking coffee and watching the ocean. The kitchen is very well equipped, and the beds were so comfortable. We loved the location and had the beach to ourselves most days. We will definitely be back. Thanks George !

Good view

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Isle of View. It was convenient to the beach and the view was great. Privacy and isolation was great. It was a further walk to the beach than we had anticipated about 100 yards. When we booked we had thought it was on the beach and since my husband has had hip surgery he did not go to the beach because of the distance. It was nice to have the cart to help carry things to the beach. We did have a good time and relaxed vacation.

Owner's Response: I'm so glad y'all enjoyed yourself....I'm sure you enjoyed the fantastic view...as for the distance to the beach...there are two very nice handicap accessible boardwalks right across the street over the protected dune...my wife had a hip replacement...and was battling cancer(until she passed) and had no problem getting to her favorite place...the beach.....thanks for staying at our "little peice of paradise"

Great location if you're looking for a quiet getaway!

  • 3 of 5

We really had a great time here; however there were some issues with cleanliness. We had to clean the entire place when we arrived- not fun after a 12 hour car ride! The beach definitely made up for it though... The house is located across the street. This is the perfect spot if you're looking for something private and residential. If you're looking for more touristy activities, this is probably not the place for you.
