Are you looking for a clean, airy, comfortable, creekside cabin that's the perfect location for the best adventures the Appalachian Mountains have to offer? That describes A DOGWOOD COVE CABIN! From spring's dogwoods to the fall colors, anytime is a wonderful time to visit! After a day of exploring a hidden cove or spending time on a trail, your cozy mountain retreat will be waiting for you. The cabin is all there is on 18 wooded acres. Since we have only one cabin, while you're our guest your comfort and enjoyment is our highest priority. The cabin is outfitted with everything you might need. All you need to bring is your suitcase and groceries!
It's private, yet only a few minutes from the Nantahala River, Lake Fontana, the Appalachian Trail, horseback riding, the famous Tsali mountain bike trails and renowned fishing streams and rivers. Other activities within a 25 mile radius include the Cherokee Indian Reservation, the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, trout farms, and much more. On the other end of the activity spectrum, a quiet day spent reading on the futon on the large screened-in porch is a favorite of many of our guests. Also on the porch is a picnic table; a wonderful setting for birdwatching, enjoying a meal or writing notes to friends back home. Sitting outside in the yard while grilling fresh trout, visiting, or just playing Frisbee can leave you wondering where the time has gone!
Here is a sampling of comments from our guest books...
* 'It's so peaceful and serene. The setting is absolutely beautiful. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing this lovely place with us!'
* 'We are so appreciative of all the comforts of home. We love listening to the frogs and crickets at night. We picked blackberries down the road and made a cobbler. It's so nice to get away from our hectic lifestyles. It's been awesome.'
* 'What a private, beautiful location. We enjoyed knowing we weren't just in a house...but a home!' 'We had a great time! We were here for ten days and it wasn't long enough!'
* 'It was a perfect mountain getaway for our busy family of five. A Dogwood Cove Cabin is private, secluded and quiet yet near a lot of the recreational areas... It is also very clean and neat, which meant a lot since we had a toddler. We hope to be back to this cozy home away from home in the spring.'
Feel free to call us with any questions!
We had a great time and the cabin was absolutely perfect. I highly recommend it.
Your cabin had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Had it not been for the forest fires we would have enjoyed the setting
much more. Great time visiting with our local children. We will be back as often as we can. One wish, though, would you get a small
step stool so I could reach the microwave? Very much enjoyed meeting you,Janet. Happy Thanksgiving!

My husband, myself and our fly fishing buddy come every fall to NC to fly fish. We have been coming to the Bryson City area for years with our sons for fishing and all the outdoors activities. We have stayed in many places and camped all over. We chose Dogwood Cove Cabin this year and could not have been more pleased. The location is centrally located to hit all the trout waters. Janet and John made the booking of the cabin so easy. The seclusion and privacy were wonderful but still so convenient. We cooked and also visited local restaurants. The cabin is comfortable, clean, priced great, and the long screened porch is wonderful! Looking forward to another visit!
My husband and I stayed at this lovely cabin for a short weekend to mountain bike. It was quiet, clean and super close to Tsali and the NOC. We highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for a peaceful mountain get-away. We can't wait to return!
We live in Alabama and make a trip to the Mountains about twice a year! This place is by far the best we have found, it is exactly as described! Janet and John (the owners) are extremely nice and look out for their guest! We always look for a nice place that is easy to get to and close to everything and this cabin was exactly what we wanted! Our two poodles enjoyed the stay! NICE, CLEAN, QUITE, PERFECT! The cost for staying here is extremely low, but it is worth a whole lot more!
My husband, our dog and I stayed here Oct 3-5, 2015...The end of a very wet flood warning week but finally clearing after we arrived. We were looking for something very affordable, pet friendly, and conveniently located to the area attractions as described. We were not disappointed. It was clean and cozy. Pros the lovely woods scenic porch and the remote privacy, cons the 1 small bathroom with single size shower and when we arrived since a screen window had been left open in master bedroom top linens were damp, fortunately there was a laundry room with clothes washer and dryer.
It's suitable for a couple and 2 small children, or a group of 3 rafters for example. All the conveniences of home-- not fancy, real cute decor, but it's not primitive either. The inside is more attractive than the outside appears in the picture. TV and appliances modern and in working order and wi fi available. Also lots games, books and videos on shelves. The nearest big grocery store is about 15 min away in town of Bryson City.
We enjoyed riding the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and the open air car "The Nantahala" with BBQ lunch, souvenir tote, cup, unlimited drinks included. Our favorite dinner restaurant was the Cork and Bean (try the local trout) and also The Mountain Perks coffee shop. We rode up the Blue Ridge parkway seeing early fall colors to Cherokee and eventually back home through Asheville.
Our miniature dachshund loved the cabin porch, the big yard, and walking the country road.
We didn't use the fire pit but that would be great for family to gather around if you spent more time at cabin. There is so much to do in Bryson City outdoors so plan to stay awhile!
