About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5-6)

Are you looking for a clean, airy, comfortable, creekside cabin that's the perfect location for the best adventures the Appalachian Mountains have to offer? That describes A DOGWOOD COVE CABIN! From spring's dogwoods to the fall colors, anytime is a wonderful time to visit! After a day of exploring a hidden cove or spending time on a trail, your cozy mountain retreat will be waiting for you. The cabin is all there is on 18 wooded acres. Since we have only one cabin, while you're our guest your comfort and enjoyment is our highest priority. The cabin is outfitted with everything you might need. All you need to bring is your suitcase and groceries!

It's private, yet only a few minutes from the Nantahala River, Lake Fontana, the Appalachian Trail, horseback riding, the famous Tsali mountain bike trails and renowned fishing streams and rivers. Other activities within a 25 mile radius include the Cherokee Indian Reservation, the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, trout farms, and much more. On the other end of the activity spectrum, a quiet day spent reading on the futon on the large screened-in porch is a favorite of many of our guests. Also on the porch is a picnic table; a wonderful setting for birdwatching, enjoying a meal or writing notes to friends back home. Sitting outside in the yard while grilling fresh trout, visiting, or just playing Frisbee can leave you wondering where the time has gone!

Here is a sampling of comments from our guest books...

* 'It's so peaceful and serene. The setting is absolutely beautiful. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing this lovely place with us!'

* 'We are so appreciative of all the comforts of home. We love listening to the frogs and crickets at night. We picked blackberries down the road and made a cobbler. It's so nice to get away from our hectic lifestyles. It's been awesome.'

* 'What a private, beautiful location. We enjoyed knowing we weren't just in a house...but a home!' 'We had a great time! We were here for ten days and it wasn't long enough!'

* 'It was a perfect mountain getaway for our busy family of five. A Dogwood Cove Cabin is private, secluded and quiet yet near a lot of the recreational areas... It is also very clean and neat, which meant a lot since we had a toddler. We hope to be back to this cozy home away from home in the spring.'

Peaceful, secluded and friendly owners

The place was easy to get to, and close to Bryson City, Murphy ,Fontana lake and the park. The screened in porch was a great place to sit and read. The place was very clean and I will go back.

The cabin was perfect. It also was stocked with everything we forgot to pack, which made our stay effortless. I could not have asked for a more perfect stay.

Perfect Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for the quiet family weekend we wanted! Off the grid, but yet close to all the fun "NC Mountain Activities" that everyone loves. We already are planning a return visit! The cabin was super clean, furnished with all the necessities and very cozy! It didn't feel like a vacation property, it felt like someone had opened their home to us! Janet was very easy to work with and it was a pleasure to get to talk with her! I can't say enough great things. I highly recommend this cabin!

Wonderful cabin!

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful cabin, very quiet, just as described! IT is conveniently located close to lake Fontana, the NOC, the Tsali biking trails and Bryson City. There was everything in the cabin to make our stay comfortable. Janet, the owner, was very gracious welcoming us and giving us lots of ideas and advices on places to visit and to enjoy with our three boys.

Perfect Spot

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I chose John and Janet's cabin for our mini-vacation getaway in July. Never having been to this area before, we weren't sure what to expect. My husband towed the motorcycle on our trailer (to do the Tail of the Dragon ride) and were pleasantly surprised that the driveway to the cabin was only slightly sloped and not up a goat road. No issues there whatsoever! The property is beautiful - very quiet and serene. If you have kids, there is plenty of room for them to play. The cabin looked better than the pictures showed and we were quite happy with it. The porch on the front is wonderful and the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee! They also have a fire pit towards the back and a fenced kennel for your furbabies, if needed. The cabin is also located in a great area - not too far from any outdoor activity you want to do. The owners were wonderful to deal with and we can't wait to come visit this cabin again!

Quiet, relaxing get away

My daughter and I were looking for a place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. This was the perfect spot! The cabin is very comfortable, in a beautiful setting with an amazing screened in porch. Bryson City is a short drive with fun shops and great food.

Owner's Response: We are so delighted you and your daughter found our quiet cabin! Our Appalachian spring with its many flowers and dogwoods all around make it easy to just sit and enjoy it all from the porch before heading into town. There are many more nearby treasures to explore... We'll hope to see you again for some summer adventuring!
