This is a charming Old San Juan first floor apartment in the San Sebastian street, close to all the restaurants in the famous San Sebastian Street. There, you will experience as a local this magical 500 year old city called Old San San Juan. It has two bedrooms, two interior terraces, and a cozy living/dining room with all the modern amenities of large plasma TV within the ambiance of a high ceiling colonial apartment.
The master bedroom has a queen size bed. The master opens to the balcony so that you can enjoy the master room interior terrace.
The second bedroom has a bunk bed which has a queen bed in the lower part and a twin bed on the top. It has a window that opens to an interior patio that will let you experience the most incredible cross ventilation of colonial times. Both bedroom have air conditioning at the desired temperature and ceiling fans if that is your fancy.
The living/dining area has its own a/c unit and two ceiling fans so that you can combine the ventilation that you wish.
The full kitchen facilities will allow your to explore your culinary fancy on those days that your chose not to eat in one of the one hundred restaurants within walking distance in Old San Juan.
The apartment is located within a block of San Cristobal a 27 acre military fortress built by the Spaniards during colonial times and in active use until WWII. From the apartment you will relax looking San Sebastian street, famous for its yearly festival in the month of January. The apartment is located in the residential part of San Sebastian but within two blocks of the bustling and partying of the street, which is the address for many of the best restaurants and bars of the city.
Half a block north is the most amazing view of the Atlantic ocean and one block lies what I call the 'front lawn' of the apartment: a beautiful grass area of the fort that is tucked between the fort, Norzagaray street and tne Ocean that will allow you to practice your tai chi chuan, read a book or smoke a good cigar.
If gambling is your cup of tea, the apartment is located six blocks from Sheraton Hotel that has a 10,000 square feet casino.
There are over fifteen public squares in Old San Juan all within walking distance from the apartment, which will give many hours of relaxation and entertainment.
Cristo street, the mecca of outlets and fashion stores is five blocks away and the famous jeweleries of San Juan await you in Fortaleza Street.
If you are a cigar smoker you will be four and a half blocks away from the best cigar lounge in the carribbean and possibly the east coast.
Old San Juan has a sun deck with a Jacuzzi in the Seafearers facilities that is just four blocks away.
A beautiful secluded (almost secret) beach is 10 walking minutes away. Don't believe those that tell you Old San Juan does not have a beach, they just do not know. If you want a full blue flag beach Escambron is a 10 minute taxi cab ride away.
The apartment on San Sebastian was perfect for our family of 5. It is centrally located in old San Juan. We walked everywhere. We also rented a car for day trips and parked in the public lot down by the water. It is a little far away but gives you time to window shop as you walk back. The apartment was very clean and had all items that were advertised. The directions to get there from the airport and directions for the lock box were easy to understand. Carmen responded quickly to emails and phone calls. We will be sure to stay here if we come for another trip to Puerto Rico. Thanks.
I recently stayed at this property & thoroughly enjoyed my visit. We were a party of 6. The apartment was nicely furnished. The pictures don't do justice. The location is also excellent.. right in the heart of Old San Juan convenient to everything. We were within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, bars, & tourist attractions(Fort San Cristobal) etc. One thing that was a challenge...Getting ready daily with six women and one bathroom with 2 mirrors in the unit. It would have been nice to have bedroom door body mirrors or wall mirrors. Lighting was also dim but we survived. We bought extra towels because the unit only had enough for 4ppl. This would have been nice to know in advance. A great thing about the unit that is not mentioned is that it has a small twin trundle bed in one of the bedrooms along with bunk beds in which the room can accommodate 3-4ppl. There's a full sofa futon in the living room & in the main bedroom the bed is a FULL size & NOT A "QUEEN" size. We bought additional blankets for the trundle & sofa futon. The blankets that were in the cabinets were a bit dusty & in need of washing. The kitchen was a plus, we bought groceries & ate breakfast daily. Overall I would stay in this unit again if I ever re-visit Puerto Rico.
If you want a place right in the heart of Old San Juan, this is the place! Shopping, restaurants and the national park is right around the corner. The unit was clean and welcoming for our family of 5. Everything is within walking distance. We even found a quiet beach to relax on. Carmen was great too. She accommodated our hectic schedule which we really appreciated. We will definitely stay here again! Just an FYI, the beds are double not queen.
I like the cleanliness and the accommodations for 6 guests. Great central location in the middle of the nightlife of old san juan yet surprisingly quiet even steps away from the bars and restaurants.
I booked this apartment for myself and my 2 friends for a five night stay. Some things were great, and some things could be improved up.
Location - absolutely a great spot in Old San Juan. Lots of great cafes and restaurants very close by.
Apartment was very clean and appeared to be well-maintained.
The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed.
Outdoor patio area was very nice
Carmen and Marie were very responsive to our needs
The instructions on how to get in were confusing. We were given a few different codes to access the front gate and the front door.
When we arrived, the wifi was not working. I had specifically booked this apartment because it had wifi, and my friends and I did have to work on this trip. I contacted Carmen, and eventually the wifi was working later that night around 9pm. But we each lost quite a few hours of working time.
We were not provided with enough linens, however Marie did drop some off for us later that night (Thank you!)
There is no ladder for the top bunk! We let both Carmen and Marie know this. We had no way to access the top bunk.
The wifi does not work in the bedrooms. It was almost impossible to pick up the signal from either bedroom. I found the wifi really only worked in the kitchen and the living room.
The water temperature in the shower was a little finicky. It would fluctuate a lot, and I showered at different times in the day during the week. My friends also experienced this too.
All in all, I do think this is a great apartment, but I would not recommend it for 6 people. At 3 people, it did feel a little cramped.
Apartment was perfect for my family over the new year. Awesome location and the instructions to get in were easy to follow. Never needed the assistance of the apartment manager. Will stay again!
