Overview

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Prague 1 - Museum Park Apartment

1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-6)

This cozy, newly renovated apartment lies in the heart of Prague just meters from the National Museum and a short walk to the main historic sightseeing points. Spacious and tasteful furnishings make this an ideal apartment for a couple or group of 4 with a maximum possibility to accommodate 6 people. The master bedroom faces onto a tree filled courtyard ensuring a quiet and tranquil sleep. The large bedroom includes, in addition to a king size double bed, a fold out couch for 2 people. The separate living room (another fold out courch) and kitchen has a lot of light and the west facing windows offer stunning views to the Museum, which is beautifully lit up at night. In both living room and bedroom there are amazing original pieces of antique furniture which in combination with modern art and other furnishings make a great blend of romantic history and contemporary Prague.

The apartment boasts all necessary amenities including fully equipped kitchen, microwave, dishwasher, stove with oven, toaster, kettle, washing machine, massage shower, satellite flat screen TV, radio / CD mini system, DVD player and high-speed internet.

The spectacular turn-of-the century building has been recently renovated with new elevator, original features and modern security entrance with surveillance cameras.

The area itself is popular with visitors as it’s easily accessible to all major landmarks by foot (1 minutes to Wenceslas square and 6 minutes to the famous Astronomical clock at Old Town square). Public transportation links are superb with easy access to the airport (45 minutes), train (5 minutes by foot to the Main train station) and both metro (Muzeum stop, line A/C, is 1 min. away) and trams.

There are many good restaurants, bars, clubs and parks in the area, which is considered to be one of the safest districts in Prague.

Conveninet, Homey, centrally located apartment

  • 5 of 5

We were met at the airport on time and were driven to the apartment by a bilingual and informative gentlemen. This place was fabulous .Everthing that was stated in the descrption was accurate Extreamly convenient to transportation and museums, theatre and restaurants. Wonderful views, peaceful and quiet at night. The bathing facilities were top notch and the kitchen had everything I needed to cook a meal with. We loved this place and couldn't say enought wonderful things about our experience. Hope to stay there again in the future. Alenka

Beautiful apartment, Great location, Great service, Incredible Prague!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at this property for 12 days and loved every minute of it. First of all, Petra is great. Easy communication, prompt response, very professional. Not one issue to complain about.

Pick up service was great as well. Vladimir, super friendly, came on time, helped with the luggage, and showed around the property.

Now the apartment was great. I love the big windows, lots of sunlight coming in. Super high ceilings and lots of air. The bedroom was a great size, nice comfy bed, and everything was pretty much perfect. Living room was super cozy, with a nice kitchen setup that has everything you need to make your own meals.

Location of this property is absolutely incredible. It is right behind the National Museum, which if you go around it, takes you straight to the Wenceslas Square. About 5 minutes of walking and you are there. The subway is right by the apartment. You just have to take an underground walkway towards the museum, and you will see the subway station. Off Wenceslas Square, with about 15-20 minutes of walking you will make it to The Old Town Square and pretty much all of the main tourist sights. Very easy to get to everything by foot. Walked the entire time I was in Prague and enjoyed every second of it. Subway is very easy to navigate as well, if you ever need it. Very self-explanatory without any unnecessary confusion. Super easy to get to everything you need, and not expensive at all.Theres is also a supermarket located underground at Muzeum Station, which is literally 5 minutes of walking from the apartment. Very easy to get groceries and prepare you own meals if that is what you deice to do.

Also, for solo travelers. if you are contemplating whether you should go or not, do not overthink it and just go. I traveled solo for the first few days and felt absolutely safe. No issues with safety at all. Just use common sense that you would at home and you will have a great time.

All in all, amazing experience. Great property, great people. Dealing with Petra was a breeze.

Prague is absolutely incredible, one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen, and I will be coming back for sure, and will be staying at this property again as it was great. Also, will recommend this property to my friends and family who plan on going to Prague.

Thank you Petra!

Stunning building, great location, perfect service

  • 5 of 5

Great apartment, super location, excellent service! My family and I spent a week at this apartment and were extremely satisfied. Not only was the apartment very large for our needs it was fully equipped and very clean. The kitchen was great as I like to cook and we loved the island in the kitchen so could sit and chat while I was cooking. One other huge plus is the bedroom is facing the courtyard and was nice and quiet. The location is superb, right behind the museum and thus very easy to get around (personally I recommend taking the subway back from the castle as it drops you off right at the museum). There are great shops right around the corner and the farmers market is a must. Finally, the service from Petra the booking manager was excellent. She was extremely attentive and polite and arranged for airport transit to and from the apartment. Vladimir was a sweetheart and collected us from the airport and took care of us and made sure we were settled in.

One last thing is the exterior of the building has been fully redone very recently and I must say it is stunning, makes you feel like you are entering a mansion.

Prague is such a beautiful city and we will definitely be going back next Spring and I have already tentatively confirmed this apartments’ availability so consider that as my recommendation.

charming

  • 4 of 5

We were delighted with Prague and the charming museum apartment. It is just as it looks in the photos. Petra is extremely nice and prompt in replying. She accommodated our early arrival without extra charge since there was no one there the day before. We were very grateful as we had taken an overnight train from Budapest and we were exhausted. I have two suggestions. Vladimir did not pick us up as promised and the gentleman that he sent was late. I noticed this same comment in a previous review so I think Petra needs to address this issue. Because it was not Vladimir we did not get an orientation to the apartment and we couldn't figure out how to work the TV (even with the printed instructions) or the washing machine. Between us we have 3 graduate degrees in science! The main word of caution I would give about the apartment is that the sofa bed is simply unusable except possibly for a small child. While the sofa is quite comfortable to sit on, when it is pulled out for sleeping it has a 2 inch mattress over the old fashioned sofa bed springs. My friend and I were planning to sleep in separate rooms but neither of us would have survived a night on that bed. Fortunately the second bed in the bedroom is comfortable. Last, I would recommend not using the pickup service at the train station though for us it worked out well since we saved the early check in fee. But it cost roughly 12 euros and when we returned by regular taxi, it was less than 8 euros.

Bait and Switch?

  • 1 of 5

Bait and switch?

I can’t actually review this apartment because I didn’t stay in it despite a reservation. At the very last minute before I was too arrive I received an e-mail from this landlady saying that the apartment had suffered a pipe break, that the apartment was flooded, that I couldn’t stay in the apartment and, fortunately, she had another property that she could rent to me. We were very suspicious when we received this e-mail because the exact same story had just been given to us just a few days before by another VRBO landlady just before our visit to Budapest. In that instance, we received an e-mail from the Budapest landlady a day or two before we to arrive in Budapest telling us that the apartment had suffered a pipe break, that the apartment was flooded, that I couldn’t stay in the apartment and, fortunately, she had another, lesser, property that she could rent to me.

Hmmmm. 2 separate apartments in 2 separate cities both sustain the exact same water damage at the exact same time (relative to when we were arriving). Now I am truly suspicious of both this landlady and the one in Budapest. Did one or both sustain pipe breaks? Maybe? Did one or both rent out the apartment to someone at a higher rate and then try to bait and switch me into a lesser and unrented apartment? Very possible.

I don’t know what the truth is. Maybe this is a reputable landlady. Other reviews suggest she is which is why we went with her. But so too did the Budapest landlady get excellent reviews. You need to decide for yourselves what you think happened and whether it is worth the risk.

r.

Owner's Response: Dear Rick, Although we appreciate every and all reviews as it helps us to improve our service I must take issue with the accusatory nature of your post. We were extremely regretful that we had the pipe issue and went out of our way to A) send back your deposit immediately and B) try to find you an alternative apartment to stay in. You claim that we offered you another apartment we had but this is not the case. We contacted a person we know who works in the industry who owns 2 residential buildings and found alternative accommodation for you as we felt bad because of this unfortunate situation and didn't want to leave you with no accommodation at all in such a short notice. We wouldn't have received commission or kickback for this and took time to find this as we wanted to help you due to the circumstances. You chose to go with another property and communicated this to us. You also thanked us for returning the deposit and still asked to use our taxi pickup service and we were in communication regarding this. What makes your review of our apartment so damaging is that you made no mention of your anger in any of the following correspondences. You still chose to use our pickup person who drove you from the train station to your hotel and made no mention of this to him. I am deeply upset that you imply that this is some kind of scam as we pride ourselves on going the extra mile for all of our visitors. Multiple communications, tips on what to do in Prague, help getting tickets, assistance when people get lost, you name it we do our upmost to improve the Prague experience for all our guests. Although I totally understand your anger and frustration for having to change your plans and find a new property to stay in, to imply this is some cross border eastern European scam to deceive you is saddening as I can assure you it is not. We have been in this business for 10 years and have worked extremely hard to accommodate our guests and provide a level of service that is excellent. Because of this service and quality of the apartment we have had a 4.5/5 star rating for YEARS. Now, because of an unfounded accusation you can knock our rating down which is completely unfair. Petra

Good choice, good stay

  • 4 of 5

I chose this apartment on line from previous reviews and location. The location is excellent for sight seeing and accessible to tram nearby. There were two grocery markets close by. View from living room was amazing. Even though there is no central air conditioning, the apartment cooled nicely on two very hot days simply by opening bedroom and living room windows to create cross draft. The living room gets noise from the street, but with the windows closed it is almost soundproofed from street. The eclectic mix of modern and stately antiques was attractive and the parquet floor had some personality with its little squeaks. Vladimir let us in and provided a helpful show and tell on how things work. He was prompt for a departure pick up to the airport. The lift stops at halfway point between floors causing one to carry items at least 1/2 story. This would be an issue for someone lacking the strength or mobility to manage without a lift. There are restaurant choices nearby to which tourist usually don't go, therefore letting them charge lower prices and giving you a break from the dense crowds of the main tourist areas. The concierge, Petra, did very well on communications, some of which I missed because of not having access to e-mail. She was very patient about that.. I feel as though I got a very good value and certainly enjoyed the spacious rooms after a week on a river cruise. I suggest you take all the personal hygiene products you need, basic condiments if you are going to have meals in, and a book light for reading in bed.
