About Mark Jones

This is my first vacation rental. I am retired from owning my own Marketing Research Company in Roswell GA. Being semi retired I wanted to spend more time at the beach. While not using my home I thought of sharing it with other's. I hope that you enjoy my home as much as I do!!

I love this beach community and the convenience to the beach with the privacy that I wanted in the evenings with lots of space and the private pool. The clubhouse facilities are also extremely convenient and include a large pool that has just been redone, tennis and volleyball court just steps out of our door!

The house is nice, but is in need of updating and some basic maintenance.

We had a nice stay, beds were very comfortable! Overall, though, The house really needs some updating and some maintenance. The heated community pool was the best part of our stay.

Close to the beach!

We had a blast! Nice home. Had a fun Thanksgiving. Close walk to the beach. Nice homey feel. Nicely stocked with essentials. Owner stays in communication. Would definitely recommend. Only suggestion would be update stove.

Loved it!!

This was our first time to rent a house for vacation instead of a hotel or condo. We had six adults and one child under a year old. The house was great and very roomy for all of us. Definitely would book it again!

Great house, needs some cleaning

House was great size! Pool was great, although we found a snake in it. Found a water bug in a bed. Both coffee pots have mold. Neighborhood was great, love the location! House just needs updating and cleaning. The floors were dirty when we arrived. Owner was always quick to respond to any questions! E

Our family had a really good time.

Although we had some minor issues with the garage door and access codes, the owner Mark Jones helped us resolve them quickly. We enjoyed the home and loved the location. We definitively would stay again. On the flip side, the only negative was that the cleaning crew didn't do a good job. The house wasn't clean when we arrived.

This house COULD'VE' been perfect!

Upon arrival it was obvious the unit hadn't truly been cleaned. I'm guessing the cleaning crew comes in wipes counters, sweeps the open areas and makes the beds. There were food crumbs and toys left in the cushions and under all the furniture. Dead bugs (huge) in upstairs closets. None of the bedding appeared to be cleaned and had a musty smell. We arrived at 9 pm I finished bedding on 3 beds for everyone to sleep in around midnight and swept all floors. My mother (65) and daughter (23) slept in one bed myself (42) and husband (46) took the second bed leaving the third bed open for friends who were arriving later (59 and 54). I took pics that evening and emailed Mr. Jones of the issues. Friend's arrived around 4 crawled into bed got up around 8am and realized they were locked into their bedroom (the door wasn't locked). We tried unlocking it through small hole and then took doorknob off it still would not open. The guts inside were all busted up. I tried calling maintenance for complex who told me to call Mr.Jones. He returned my call around 8:39 and asked if she was a young lady who didn't know how to unlock the door? No not the case. Then stated all we had to do was unlock it using a small pin. I had explained that didn't work. It took 45 minutes to get her out. Once she got out of the room she told me there was a piece of tape on the door she didn't think anything of it and pulled it off. During all of this the toilet in downstairs bathroom overflows and floods the floor to which he says has NEVER been an issue. The cleaning crew arrived around noon and I informed the 2 ladies I had already cleaned and the true issue was the guests being locked in their room for 45 minutes until we could free them. They told me maintenance was aware and it should've had tape on it keeping it from latching. I then explained the toilet issue in the downstairs bathroom asking when the maintenance would be by. She claimed that she had changed the guts in the toilet once before for doing the same thing. She went in the bathroom tightened up something claimed that would fix it she came back an hour later and put a door knob on NEVER ONCE did a maintenance man show up. Guarantee I left the place cleaner than I received it. I don't blame Mr. Jones who lives out of state but for the extreme price i paid for this house it was no vacation. I washed bedding for 5 beds and swept and mopped all floors during my first 24 hours. Very disappointed!

A wonderful area of Destin. Private beaches and within walking distance to several close by bars/restaurants.
