ABOUT THE VILLA
Through your private garden and veranda you enter the first floor of this seafaring villa, which consists of a fully air-conditioned great room with a double sized futon, totally equipped kitchen and bath with a shower. The kitchen features custom made Honduran hardwood cabinets and a small dining area. There are two additional dining tables on the veranda.
Upstairs is a spacious master bedroom with its own deck for enjoying that first cup of morning coffee or to catch the sun going down over the hills. Custom made Marapolan furniture provides numerous drawers and storage. You’ll especially enjoy the queen memory foam bed covered with 800 count Egyptian cotton sheets.
Use the bonus room, with full size bed and work area as an extra bedroom, for storage, or as your office away from home. The full upstairs bath features a large shower with a seat and lots of custom cabinetry.
Ceiling fans abound throughout both floors of the villa and each bedroom has its own air-conditioner. A split unit AC serves the downstairs area. We are eco-friendly here - - we ask our guests to recycle and conserve water and electric when not needed.
You’ll find this villa very comfortable, equipped with everything you need for a pleasant relaxing stay. The villa is the first two floors of the 3-story building on the water side. The property owners' veranda and a small part of their living room is on the floor above. Although normally very quiet and private, you may hear residual noise as if in a condo building.
You'll love buying fresh fish, lobster, shrimp and crab from local fishermen right at your own dock. Or visit several nearby 'locals' restaurants for the best and most reasonably priced meals on the island. A new locals fruit and vegetable market is less than a mile away.
Sit-on-top kayaks that normally rent for $50/day each on the island are included FREE with your rental. Swim and snorkel from the dock or visit communities up and down the coast, stopping to snorkel along the way.
Explore the nearby mangrove tunnels via kayak. These amazing tunnels were built by the Payan Indians. You'll never tire of the beauty both above and below the water.
We ditched our corporate jobs, sold our waterfront house in St. Petersburg Florida and headed to Roatan on our 42-foot Krogen trawler 16 years ago. We lived aboard while building a boathouse on the water. Then we built a larger house up the hill (we had no place to put visitors and guests). The villa was built for my mom a few years ago but unfortunately she had little chance to use it. Our family of three sons and wives along with 8 grandchildren enjoy visiting the island to swim, scuba dive, snorkel and play golf.
Caribe Pointe Bight is the most beautiful place in Roatan. Its location is off the beaten path and away from the tourists and cruise ships. The lush tropical natural surroundings are highlighted by palms, towering oaks, crystal clear Caribbean water, mountains and the world's second largest barrier reef.
Diving, snorkeling, kayaking and fishing are right here at your fingertips. The location is quiet and relaxing where you can do as much as you like, or as little as you want.
What could be better than spending 13 full days on the island of Roatan? It was a well deserved vacation from Canada’s winter and our busy lives. Our highlights were the boat/dive trip out to Pigeon Cay, kayaking thru the mangroves, snorkeling the bay, dive trips with Larry and our days at Parrot Tree & Fantasy Island…all recommended by Marcia.
It was great spending family time together in the house. It had everything we needed. We had some relaxing days on the deck reading and laying in the hammock. When we got too hot we made our way down to the water to cool off in the bight. We loved it when our teens used up the internet which gave us a chance to have great chats and laughs as our kids won't be travelling with us much longer.
Marcia and Dennis, you have a wonderful spot. We will recommend it to friends back home. Thanks for everything.
