About Millicent Ambroggio

We are a busy family of 6 from Colorado.

Millicent Ambroggio purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Millicent Ambroggio chose Front Range Colorado

This is our vacation home too! We love being in the mountains and this cabin is private but still close to our family and friends in Denver. We get the best of both worlds here!

What makes this cabin unique

Every morning we get up and play games in our pajamas instead of watching cartoons. We love the family time together without the interruption and distraction of electronics. This past summer we all went rafting and had a blast. When we want a night out, Idaho Springs is so close with lots of great places to eat and shop.

Perfect offline getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was the perfect unplugged getaway for our family. We played hours of Battleship and Uno, hiked the glacier and quietly relaxed without electronics. Thank you to Sandy for dropping by to check on us! The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed and more. It was a wonderful experience.

Overall, our stay was very good.

  • 4 of 5

Our stay was quite nice, I loved the location and privacy. However, there are a few maintenance issues that need to be dealt with. The toaster oven only would toast on one side, the front door really stuck - needed to shoulder it open. The door to the washer did not like to stay shut, shouldn't take much to get that fixed. The chairs on the deck, one of them needs repaired, one of the straps that makes the seat was broken. Out front, it would be nice to clear a tree or two to take better advantage of the view. I would also suggest bringing the ladder to loft out a little more. It was quite steep to go up. Would I come back? Yes, I would come back, these things are all minor but should be addressed.

Great location, everything exactly as described, plus some.

  • 4 of 5

The location was great and we loved the seclusion. We didn't get check in instructions until less than 24 hours to check in time, but overall very nice! We wished the windows had curtains and the front door was difficult to unlock & open. Lots of little extras, very comfortable beds, nice bathroom, and we loved the games and binoculars that were there! Loved being able to walk to hike the Glacier.

Scenic, secluded, unplugged mountain getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I wanted to find a quiet place in the mountains where we could walk out our door and be in nature, or snuggle up with the comforts of home inside. Great open windows with plenty of light and a sunny deck were perfect places to play a game or read a book! This was the perfect place! With very limited cell reception and no wi-fi, it was truly a place to get away from the busyness of life and unplug for a few days. We hiked to nearby St. Mary's Glacier and walked down to the private lake several times. Idaho Springs was also close enough to head in for dinner at BeauJo's (pizza), grab some groceries and do a little shopping. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a couple condiments we had forgotten. So many wonderful memories of our time there!

Awesome cabin- location is amazing

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was perfect for a long weekend or extended stay. You could spend a couple days easy just exploring what's within walking distance without ever leaving the mountain. Beds are Uber comfy and the kids had a blast in the loft just hanging out. We are already planning our next visit!

Want to go back

  • 5 of 5

It's been a while since my husband got time away from our toddler to stay in this wonderful cabin and WE STILL TALK ABOUT IT. I kept saying to him that anything I think of that I need...is already there. My husband fired up the small fire pit outside and then we snuggled by the fire inside in the cast iron stove. I drank coffee on the deck and hiked the glacier. Not one complaint. Thank you for a wonderful exprience.
