It's a fantastically beautiful and quiet place
It's as cozy and beautiful as one imagines, in a completely quiet part of Portland and yet close to the city. We would go back. We were a family of three with a 10-month old, and the open layout of the place is beautiful, but means that once our little one was in bed, it is a bit limiting, but we knew that from the beginning. Otherwise we can only recommend this place for anyone who wants a unique place when visiting Portland. Perfectly set up kitchen makes one completely self sufficient. And the owner is quick to respond, helpful, but also leaves one be.
Cozy, warm, and friendly - what a wonderful hidden gem this place is
Much larger than it’s outward appearance suggests. Every space is well calculated and used, best feature for me are the large bay window, perfect for lying down and star gazing, good sized kitchen and my fav, the rainfall shower head, so old school and relaxing. This is a great place to unplug and enjoy a hike or read a book. Owner looks out for you and is very friendly. Definitely the perfect couples retreat.
Amazing locale, perfect hideaway in the city
Fantastic little cottage! perfect for a couples retreat. very nice and quiet location. Deborah was helpful, answered all the questions we had over the phone, and responded very quickly. The cottage was very clean, and she had only simple, common-sense rules. Bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen appointed well enough for most anything you would need. If you're looking for a place with some downtime with a book, or quiet space at the end of the day running around the city - this is a no brainer. Wake up, have some of the excellent coffee we were given, and sit on the porch and admire the green space before you head back out. If we end up back in portland. This is where we will stay again.
The only downside was that we couldn't stay longer.

Very comfortable stay
Such a cozy, clean, quiet place to vacation at.
A peaceful little cottage in a spectacular garden.
Coming from upstate New York to visit our Son, Daughter in-law, and our newly born first grandchild, the cottage at Mossy Cobbles was an ideal location for us and worked out very well. The cottage was impressive with its woodwork and windows with spectacular views of amazing gardens. The furnishings made the cottage comfortable, charming, and efficient. Thanks to the owner for making us feel welcome. From the moment we walked into the cottage we felt at home. We certainly hope to return some time in the future.
Mossy Cobbles is located between the west border of Portland and the east border of Beaverton. Here in Garden Home, it is a short walk through the woods to the Garden Home Community Center with a small library, gym, soccer field, playground, and classes. Across the street are a Starbuck's, Shari's Café, Baskin-Robins, Ploy's Thai Restaurant, and a supermarket. Beaverton Farmers Market is open Saturdays from February to November. Next to the market is a random-pattern pavement fountain noisy in the summer with happy small children, while across the street is a 2-story glass front library which includes a quiet sitting area and 100's of current periodicals. Guests can access downtown Portland and all it has to offer in 20 minutes, barring rush hour traffic. Be sure to see Powell's City of Books, stroll and shop in the Pearl District, the Hawthorne District, and Nob Hill. Portland Art Museum is in the South Park blocks near Portland State University. Also down town, the Schnitzer Concert Hall and Keller Auditorium showcase the Oregon Symphony and world class touring musicals. Many local theatrical events are available in more intimate settings. Ride the aerial tram from the South Waterfront to Oregon Health Science University for a spectacular 180 degree view of the Willamette River, Mount Hood and the active volcano Mount St. Helens. Enjoy a meal at one of the many creative and competitive restaurants and food carts that put Portland on the culinary map. Guests may venture further east to historic Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood, or famous Multnomah Falls in the spectacular Columbia River Gorge. Driving west, it is not far to the wine country for a glass of Oregon's world famous pinot noir. Drive further west to the Pacific Ocean for a stroll on the beach, shops, or seafood caught the same day. Nature hikes can be found outside the back door on the Fanno Creek Trail, in Forest Park, on Sauvie Island, Oaks Bottom. Oregon's old growth forests provide inspirationally beautiful hikes; wily foragers can find chanterelle and morel mushrooms, crayfish and huckleberries. Lovely local gardens include Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, Washington Park Rose Test Gardens, and The Bishops Close (Elk Rock). Children enjoy the Oregon Zoo and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. Go swimming at the Southwest Community Center or try ice skating at the Portland Winterhawks skating center a few miles away. Search the internet for the winery tours, walking tours, antiques shopping, cooking classes, rowing, kayaks and canoes, standup paddleboards, horseback riding, caving, and rivers to swim in.
