My husband, 1 year old, our dog, and myself spent four wonderful nights relaxing at this gorgeous property.
It felt very secluded and totally private, yet it was 20 min to a grocery store - which is a plus if you have young kids.
My favorite part of the stay was taking a bubble bath in the giant tub at sunset.
We stayed at this property for three night in February. The master bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in! The house had everything we needed including firewood. The towels were fluffy and the bathrooms were especially clean. The house does have a lot of "stuff" books, toys, jackets, hats, lamps, knick knacks... This is either a good thing or a bad thing depending on your preferences. We had a great time and would stay there again.
We were looking for a place to stay while on a weekend trip for snowboarding at Mt Snow. We also wanted somewhere we could bring our family dog, who is like a member of the family, along for the weekend. This was the perfect place! This house is warm and welcoming and the space is laid out so attractively. The aesthetics of the post-and-beam construction are a pleasure for the eye, and the design of the house allows for lots of privacy while still having a very open floor plan. The kitchen is equipped with everything one could need to prepare any type of meal. We came with two adults and two children, but the additional beds in the basement area would have allowed the house to easily accommodate four more people very comfortably. The house was very clean and well-maintained. The owner, Chris, was amazing! His communication was excellent both before and during our stay, and he was very kind in accommodating all of our needs. The house is about 30 minutes away from Mt Snow, but the drive is along a beautiful, scenic road and very enjoyable--totally worth it to have so much more space and privacy for the same amount one might pay for a tiny hotel room (that is not dog-friendly) right by the mountain. The house is also set out in the country on a network of rarely used roads, so one might go for a nice walk from the house. I give this house five stars and definitely hope to stay here again!
I have a special affection for this house - my boyfriend proposed to me in a grove of trees on the property!
My group and I were all very satisfied with our stay. The house itself is well kept and clean, and the main floor open concept is great for groups to be able to interact with each other. Getting up the road to the house can be a bit intimidating if you're not in an SUV or vehicle with AWD. We had a problem with the driveway not being plowed prior to arrival, but the owner was super quick to respond and the driveway was plowed within an hour of calling him. I was impressed with how quickly the house warmed up after we arrived, too. Overall it was a really lovely and relaxing stay.
This is a lovely house in a beautiful setting. The pictures of the home are accurate and you will find everything that you need to make your vacation comfortable. Love that you are able to bring your pet - our dog loved running the grounds and hiking through the woods! We had a truck, so no problem getting up the very steep hill! Would definitely come again for another get-away!
We were looking for the perfect get-away, off the beaten path, to spend a quiet weekend in the mountains. "Almost Heaven" worked out perfectly for us and our friends. A brisk walk up an adjoining county road; star gazing off the back deck at night that took your breath away; curled by the wood stove with a book was indeed relaxing. Fine food, antiques, winery are minutes away. We will definitely be back.
