I am a designer and so I pay exacting care with every detail. I enjoy hosting people from all over the world who come to enjoy Lafayette, its food and entertainment culture.
Why Lafayette? Lafayette was recently rated by Forbes Magazine as one of the top American cities in terms of job growth and opportunities. Its Festival International was named Best World Music Festival. Southern Living Magazine named Lafayette as 'Tastiest Town of the South!' Lafayette was named second most optimistic city in the US by Gallup. Dean-O's Pizza was named #4 in the nation in Parade Magazine. Lafayette was named 4th best Spring Break destination for families by livability. Lafayette was recognized as the city with the fastest growing median household income, according to Sentier Research. It has a first-rate university rated as a Carnegie High Research institution. It has a highly active art and culture scene. Why Lafayette? Why not!
My husband, dogs and I recently stayed at this cozy, one-bedroom condo. It was a lovely landing spot after a long drive to Lafayette from Austin. We were immediately wowed by how clean the property was, as we're both a bit fanatical about that sort of thing. Loads of clean, white towels were stocked in the bathroom. A bottle of wine welcomed us from the kitchen counter. The neighbors were friendly, as one might expect when visiting Southern Louisiana. Gordon was a kind and gracious host and even delivered a large bath mat-as he was concerned that we might not have one-though we had two clean, smaller mats! In some cases, more is more and greatly appreciated. The building is a short drive to Girard Park for relaxing walks with the pups. We would definitely stay again.
Gordon was very accessible and courteous! The condo was very clean and comfortable and there were snacks, water and beer in the fridge and toiletries in the shower in case you forgot your own! The neighborhood was vibrant during daylight hours, but quiet and safe at night. The location is close to restaurants, shopping and medical facilities. I will stay here the next time I need a place to stay in Lafayette!
We stayed for 8 nights and couldn't have asked for better. The wine and snacks were great, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook full meals for a family of four. The outside patio was great for morning coffee and grilling in the evening. The pool was fun for the kids and well shaded in the afternoon/evening. The building is off the main road, so it was quiet and had no traffic noise. Very convenient location and close to many great restaurants and other activities. We are already looking forward to our next stay!
We have stayed in both of Gordon's condos for tennis tournaments held in Lafayette. The location is perfect, and it is so nice to have a comfortable place to retreat to in between matches and at the end of the day. Being able to stay in for dinner some nights, and conveniently do laundry, is also a big plus. Both of the condos are clean, comfortable and equipped with everything you need. We will be back!
The condo is in a great part of town and in a nice, neat complex. It's close to a grocery store, pharmacy and restaurants.
Rest assured, the property is exactly like the photos. Everything was clean and very well maintained. The amenities were plenty too. I really appreciated the well stocked kitchen.
Gordon was very responsive, helpful and hospitable. He even had a bottle of wine waiting for me!
I would definitely recommend this property.
It was clean, quiet, nicely decorated, convenient parking. We liked the setup of rooms.
The wine, beer and snacks on arrival were lovely.
Gordon was easy to contact (although we didn't have any issues) and friendly and attentive as we arrived.
We went to four or five of the restaurants that Gordon recommended on his welcome sheet, and liked all of them. ?? Rusted Rooster, Bread and Circus, Don's Seafood, thai restaurant, can't remember all of them. Albertsons grocery store is very near by; we joked about how often we stopped by to pick up a thing or two.
The only issue for us was that we came to Lafayette for the Festival Internationale and would have liked to walk from the condo, but it was a long way and along busy streets. Parking downtown turned out not to be an issue, so we just drove, and that worked out fine.
Would definitely recommend to others.
It is located in the heart of Lafayette close to downtown, the University of Louisiana, Lafayette General Hospital, the Oil Center and Girard Park. There are two major festivals - one downtown and one in Girard Park. Lafayette is known for its restaurants and friendly atmosphere. It is also located close to Red Lerille's Health Club and many other activities.
Lafayette has already been named the 'happiest city in America' but can now boast of a new accolade: 'best college town weekend getaway.'
“USA Today” editors nominated 20 cities for its 10 Best Reader’s Choice contest for Best College Town Weekend; Lafayette, La., was voted No. 1.
The contest website describes the Hub City as “a wonderful spot to settle in to a B&B and enjoy a weekend of hearty southern food, historical attractions, unique culture and heritage.”
According to “USA Today,” college towns possess a “fun, youthful vibe and unexpected shopping options. Restaurants, bars and entertainment are typically plentiful and affordable.”
So, you should just 'come on down' and enjoy our college atmosphere and 'youthful spirit!' And this wonderful condo.
