The villa is only a short distance by car or train from El Chorro where you can visit the world famous Camino Del Rey, Caminito Del Ray - The Kings Walk - a spectacular open walkway throught eh El Chorro Gorge. The train station is under 5 minutes from the villa.

Explore: Explore the stunning Andalucian countryside or visit some of the other nearby whitewashed villages and hill towns offering a wealth of excellent restaurants, bars and shops. Take a trip to the new Casabermeja Spa offering therapeutic treatments and spa facilities. Why not visit the nearby wolf park - it really is amazing !! The El Chorro Gorge and El Torcal National Park can be reached in 10-15mins by car. There is also the local train station offering a direct service to El Chorro or into Malaga. We are approximately 30 minutes from Malaga airport and the Costa del Sol beaches or the cosmopolitan city of Malaga.

Took the opportunity to have a few days away pre xmas and new year and this was just the ticket. Quiet, relaxing area in a gorgeous villa and pool.

Spent days picking lemons off the lemon trees !! and watching TV. Occasionaly logged onto emails with the free WiFi. Everyone should do somehting like this once a year. It was bliss.

Gorgeous villa, gorgeous place, gorgeous stay

Having just returned from our gorgeous holiday villa, its only right that we should let everyone know what a fantastic place it is. Sometimes pictures do not do villas justice and this is most certainly true of this villa. The decor really is great - we found it to be rustic but very tastefully done - with some lovely features and touches that made you go "Awww".

February weather was okay, but most definitely better than back in the UK so we cant really complain. The local village may not be to everyones taste as its more traditionally Spanish thatn a lot of the other tourist places on the coast, but if you want a bit of laid back traditional Spanish life, then this is the sort of place for you. One of the things we really liked is that there were lots of places to go and eat, all within a 5 to 10 minute walk. No high street chain stuff here, just good old tasty local food, whihc may not be to everyones taste, but then why come to a lovely village like this if all you want is fast food and traditional british grub.

Unfortunately the weather wasnt warm enough for us to enjoy the pool, but we more than made up for that by lying round it in the sun..

Lovely spot with fantastic restaurants nearby

Getting a break in January was a godsend and this was an ideal place to visit for a bit of peace and quiet.

The house was fabulous and very well fitted out. There was nothing more we could have wished for.....

If you ever visit here, you will be spoilt for choice with local restaurants and tapas bars. We had at least 8 places all within 5 minute walk and the prices were so good, we only ate in the vial once during our stay.

Hopefully we will be back again later in the year and have another great break.

Great place for the family to get together

Thanks to Ray and Terry for their attentive service and help during our stay. Nothing was too much bother and they definitely aided us during the holiday.

Weather was glorious for this time of year - which is always a plus - the villa was superb with everything we needed already there.... All we had to do was bring in more food and drink.

The kids splashed about in the pool whilst we lay in the sun, safe in the knowledge that we could see them and that it was a private pool inside a large fully fenced garden / finca. You probably couldn't imagine w better place to have a family holiday if you tried.

Looking forward to coming back again next year.......

Lovely village and fantastic villa. Superb !

Went for a getaway with friends and this is just what we needed. Chilled out, great weather, sunny skies and plenty of lazing around.

None of us wanted to drive , so we got the train from the airport then on to Alora. Really simple and easy to do. Walk to villa from station is 10 to 15 minutes depending on how quickly you go. Wouldnt receommend doing the walk in the middle of summer if you have large suitcases. Best to get a taxi. Its not far, but I think the heat would be too much personally in the height of summer.

We had plenty of places to go to during the saty and as the prices were very reasonable, we didnt eat i once. Howver the kitchen had lots of space and all the appliances you could need. All we used was the kettle, microwave and fridge / freezer.......

Comfortable villa with satellite tv and all UK channels plus wifi - great to keep in touch with the office if you want to ( we didnt !)

If you go, I'd recommend the wolf park and go to the cost one day to have look around before coming back to the peaceful village of Alora

Great Holiday. Fantastic location and surroundings

Just a short note to say what a great time we had. Weather was fantastic for February and the house was just amazing. All of us thouroughly enjoyed ourselves and the house is much bigger than it appears in the advert, so we were all delighted. Only comment would be that one of the bedrooms is fine for 2 children under 14 or so, therefore making the maximum capacity 8 adults and 2 children. I think the owner says this anyway, but just incase anyone wants it for 10 adults, its probably not going to take that many.

We had fabulous local food at Manhattan and a grat breakfast cooked by Lynne at Harveys / Jacks Tavern. Everyone liked bar DKnas in Alora - superb tapas and atmosphere.

All in all a wonderful holiday in a fantastic house in a stunning location. What more can I say !!

We made the right choice !

Having stayed in many villas over the past 20 years or so, I think I am able to see the wood from the trees and deliver an accurate assesment of any property I stay at !!

Well, this villa does exactly what it says on the tin....... It is a gorgeous old Spanish Cortijo - meaning a large majestic farmhouse type property - which has been renovated to an excellent standard and is located very close to the town, so those of you who are a bit daunted by driving on foreign roads need no worry, as you can walk to most places very quickly, or hop on the local bus if you want to go "up the hill" into the old town - note ** go into Alora, it is gorgeous**

Everything in the villa was to a good standard, my only small niggle ( it didnt affect me, but may do others) is that the villa could do with another air conditioning unit in the second or third bedroom. Again, this is my own opinion,as I found the temperature cool enough due to the very very think original stone walls.

When people go on holiday, it is easy to blame the small things and say these ruined their holiday, but as far as I am concerned, this villa was great value for money and its location could not be beaten. We were almost tempted by one or two other villas which looked as if they had magnificent views, but were " a few kilometers up a track" I am so glad we didnt take one of them, as this few kilometeres was a very scary road, and not for the fainthearted.

All in all a great place for a family or group of friends to visit. I will be back.........

Alora is a stunning white village around 25 min drive from Malaga airport in the Costa Del Sol. It is set near the El Chorro Gorge with its fantastic mountain range and only 10 mins drive from some of the best walking, climbing and outdoor activities that Andalucia has to offer.

The village itself has a quaint mixture of traditional Andalucian life plus some recently opened modern and cosmopolitan tapas and wine bars. There is a true laid back way of life in the town and you are always welcomed with a smile from the friendly locals. This piece of paradise is well served with low cost regular flights to Malaga Airport and from the villa you will be ideally placed to explore the true beauty of traditional Spain as well as mingle with other sun seekers on the coast if you wish to take a day out at the beach. Visit the true Spain and find Villages where time seems to have stood still. This is a great location for a family summer holiday with 5 bedrooms and a magnificent swimming pool.

Golf: Golf is available nearby at Alhaurin, which has 2 courses, or if you travel slightly further to the coast, there are many many more courses to choose from.

All the interior and exterior fittings were designed for a permanent family home and not just cheap items put in to satisfy a quick rental. If you are looking for refinement, charm and character, this is the property for you. 42' LCD TV in lounge. Internet / UKTV included. If you are bringing a baby, we can provide a high chair and cot. Please advise in advance if you require rhese, but note that you need to bring your own bedding and pillows for the cot. Unlike many inland properties, this villa is situated close to a normal road, making driving, finding the property and getting out and about, very easy and convenient. There are no mountainous roads, or dirt tracks to negotiate, which means you are unlikely to suffer some of the damage that occurs to cars when you rent a property 'up a mountain' No smoking inside the villa.
