"Thank you so much for your hospitality. We had a wonderful time in Bermuda. Your apartment is great and very comfortable.
Thanks for being our wedding photographer
and hosting the reception.
Hope to come back!
My husband and I had a very pleasant stay in Robert's Quarterdeck Cabin. Perched high above St. Georges it offers splendid views over the harbour. The apartment was well equipped and Robert was very helpful with any questions we had and in helping us out with the odd thing here and there. It is a short 5-10 minute walk down to the main street to catch buses to other parts of the island. We were there 3 weeks so the monthly bus pass was an incredible deal since it also included free travel on the ferries. The ferry to the Dockyards is incredible on a sunny day. There was a small grocery store in St. Georges that met most of our needs, but there is also a very large one about 20 minutes away by bus. We highly recommend this apartment.
If you are looking for something quiet and peaceful, look no further. This hidden gem, was perfect for two people. Upon entering, it was spotless. The owner Robert gave us a tour of the property and our small cabin. Everything you need is in the cabin. ( cleaners, bags, towels, beach towels, iron, hairdryer, pots and pans...) The pool was much too cold to swim as the temps were only in the 60's. Grounds were so peaceful with a hammock and pool furniture overlooking the harbor. The owner lives right next door and although we didn't need him for anything, he was there if we did. This may be a little difficult for anyone who does not relish walking up a steep hill or using the shortcut (steep stairs) to get back to the cabin. The proximity to downtown St. George is just a short stroll (downhill) away. Very convenient to the bus stop and all restaurants in St. George. Should we go back to Bermuda, we will certainly stay her again.
We stayed at Quarterdeck Cabin for four days in November 2016. Both the inside and the outside of the condo met or exceeded our expectations. The Cabin is cozy, comfortably furnished, and was very clean. The kitchenette is very well equipped, and the place is loaded with brochures and information on Bermuda. The view is divine, and the deck is absolutely beautiful, as pictured. Even in mid-November, with temps at mid-70, we were able to spend a day at the beach (Horseshoe Beach) swimming in the warm water. The pool at Quarterdeck is gorgeous and looked very inviting, but despite being heated was cold. The heater is solar-powered and we did not have enough hours of sunshine or something to get it to heat the pool to a comfortable temperature. At other times in the year it must be lovely. Bermudians are hands-down the warmest, friendliest people we have ever met, there is always a hello and how can we help you.
We will certainly try to be back!
Thank you so much Robert for helping us have the most amazing vacation ever! Loved your rental, loved the pool, loved all your helpful tips and advice, LOVED Bermuda soooo much, loved the people, loved the food, LOVED it all!!! We can't wait to return to this quaint, amazing place that is full of history, stories, has the coolest pink beaches, the bluest water, and the friendliest people ever. heart emoticon I left a piece of my heart in Bermuda.
First let me say: WOW on the views! Robert was very helpful and informative. This condo is close to the ferry and bus stops as well as historic downtown St George's. Wahoo's was especially good. The condo provided everything we needed for the week it was a very relaxing stay. The bed was comfortable as was the sitting room. The kitchen was well equipped.
Now for a few minor con's to be aware of but are in no way a reflection on this beautiful little condo:
- If you have trouble walking or are handicapped, the stairs and hill climb up to the condo will not suit you.
- If you are looking for an out-of-the-way place, this a perfect but we found that transportation during late hours or inclement weather was a little complicated.
- You can tour St George's in a day. If you are staying for more than a day and want to see the rest of the island, I would honestly stay in a more central location like Hamilton.
My spouse and I stayed at Quarterdeck Cabin for two weeks right after the Christmas holidays and enjoyed every minute. The apartment was very comfortable and the view, beautiful. Robert being away, Barbara was the one to welcome us and was very gracious about it. She drove us around town to show us where everything was and made us feel comfortable right from the start. We traveled by bus and ferry to different places and this proved quite easy. Most days we were just happy to enjoy the peace and quiet by the pool and walk around St-George. When we didn't feel like cooking, we bought cooked meals at Somers grocery store. We ate only once at Wahoo restaurant, where the seafood was excellent. Even on less sunny days, we were never bored, explored several museums, the aquarium, the botanical gardens, and discovered many beautiful sights.
Located in a very private neighbourhood in a garden setting but walking distance to the Town of St. George. Besides exploring the local beaches and quaint streets of the old town a must do is to swim in the caves at Grotto Bay and the Blue Grotto your host can provide info.
