About Randy 'Rockin Rando' Martinez
Rockin Rando is a former Navy Vet as well as a former State Trooper and he like's not hearing any noise except mother nature, the popping of a "cold daddy" and the noise of water breaking while netting the infamous Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab. This is life folks when you can step outside your back door and fill your belly with what mother nature provides, from Rockfish, Flounder, Croakers all the way to oysters. Plenty of bait at your own private dock with "Bull Minnows" and "Fiddler Crabs". Whether you like fishing or just hanging out in a place where your away from mankind this is it.

Why Randy 'Rockin Rando' Martinez chose Hacksneck
Because it is off the grid, secluded, remote, not easily found and ton's of fun for those of us that enjoy Mother Nature in all her splender. From Sunrise to Sunset to a clear night with Star's everywhere you will enjoy your stay for sure.
What makes this House unique
Where do I start? You have your own pier and launch area for motor boat, you have free access to a canoe and kayaks, outdoor shower second to none, outside porch also second to none, all the crabs you can eat, a home like you would like to call your own and so much more.
100% refund if cancelled at least 60 days before arrival date. 50% refund if cancelled at least 30 days before arrival date.
Great spot for our yearly fishing trip.
Spent for beautiful days here in mid October. On our arrival the next door neighbor dropped some crabs off for us which we quickly steamed up and were some of the meatiest crabs we ever had. We had some fair luck fishing and did quite well crabbing ourselves. Throw some topwater lures off the dock at dusk to catch some speckled trout that come up the cove to feed. We saw a pod of dolphins out in the bay on our boat which was fun. Caught shrimp off the dock as well which was different. Randy has quite the sense of humor and do yourself a favor and check out some of the things he has around the house for a laugh. Marker 14 is the place to fish in the creek to, or so we were told.
Rustic country life
My kids and I had a great stay. We felt transported out of the modern tech world which is exactly what we wanted. We saw a ton of wildlife, caught our own dinner and slept like the dead. Will consider returning.
Exactly as described (in a good way)
If you're looking to get away from society, enjoy nature and relax, this is a great location. As long as you don't mind a property that's a bit "rough around the edges" (I didn't mind), there are plenty of items provided to keep you busy. Just make sure you pack/plan accordingly because you will have to drive a little bit to buy food/supplies. Otherwise, you can fish and catch blue claw crabs (traps provided) all day and night. Canoes, a big yard, and more. Also a great property for pets as long as you clean up after them.
If you just want to relax, the property is quiet, has great views (including wildlife) and lots of humorous "decor" to put a smile on your face (sense of humor is required).
The only real drawbacks were a bit more bugs than anticipated (I never expected them to be non-existent but upstairs there seemed to be an inordinate amount of gnats or similar that flock to bright lights). Also, please plan as if you will have no cell phone service. I know this is addressed in the description but I think it needs to be emphasized even more. We have Verizon and occasionally you could use your phone but do NOT plan on it. All I really wanted access to was the weather and the TV has a very limited channel selection. If you plan on watching a lot of TV here, you should probably stay somewhere else unless you bring DVDs or use the house selection (I can think of a thousand more interesting things than watching TV at this place).
I would definitely stay here again. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer. Randy is great at keeping you informed and genuinely wants everyone to have a good time.
Thanks Dustin for your kind review. If I had it my way there would be no TV signal just tapes and DVD's. Like you said if you rented my home to watch TV you came to the wrong place. Mother Nature RULES there and there is more to life than sitting in front of a TV and being on the Phone. I hope you enjoyed the crabs and fishing and beautiful scenery, look forward to having you back soon and thanks for your stay.
A quiet place
We enjoyed the peaceful setting. It was nice to be able to use the kayaks and canoe. We had a great time on the water and enjoyed catching and eating crabs.
That is the number one reason I own this property, QUITE all the time, and the crabs are plentiful as well as the fish an oysters. Mother Nature Rules.
We stayed for two nights and had a great time. I have two small boys- ages 2 and 4 and they loved the experience of catching crabs and going out on the kayak. We really enjoyed the screened in back porch at night after putting the boys to bed, it was nice to be outside without getting attacked by bugs! We would definitely go back!
MY FAMILY AND I HAD A REALLY GOOD TIME ON THE PROPERTY. NICE PLACE TO GET ALONG WITH NATURE'S. TASTY'S CRABS
Thanks for enjoying Nature's Bounty at my home. It's quicker and cheaper than a restaurant just bring skinless chicken necks for a guaranteed Crab Dinner. Look forward to having you back.
This home is situated on a large rural estate dating back to 1817. The location is remote and extremely quite and off the Beaten Path.. Driving down the 1/4 mile private driveway with lush wooded acreage on both sides will bring you out to the large open fields where the deer and turkey flourish. You might spot 'Eddie' the American Bald Eagle taking 'Oscar' the Osprey's dinner in mid air. Someone should turn him in for theft.
Turning into the grass driveway you will realize that you just found your Hidden Paradise. With water on all 3 sides of your private estate and minutes to the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay by boat you can't go wrong. Launch your own craft whether it be a John boat, Jet Ski or 18 foot Run About right from your own private dock. High Tide 3-5 feet into the channel. Free use of the canoe and kayaks while staying on property. Alot of landlords offer promises of Paradise but I AM THE REAL DEAL.
Minutes from Wachapreague 'Flounder Capital of the World'.
Other Activities: This home is located in the middle of the Virginia Eastern Shore. Situated in the middle of the Shore you have access to Wallops Island to watch NASA Space launch's or just watch from the property. Visit the World Famous Chincoteague Island and see the 'Wild Ponies' on Assateague Island swim in open water on their annual roundup. You are directly across from Wachapreague 'Little City on the Sea' which hold's the reputation as being the Flounder Fishing Capital of the World. You have quite a few Eastern Shore small towns that offer their own special ammenities from Wine Making (Bloxum) to Music Festivals (Onancock). If you get the hankering for civilization your only 90 minutes to O.C. MD or 70 minutes to Virginia Beach VA. The World's Longest Bridge is only minutes away, Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel 'must see'.
Golf: There is a public course located in Captain's Cove which is next to Chincoteague Island. Let the little lady off to venture out to see all the small seaside specialty shops or visit N.A.S.A. Flight Facility while you hit a couple of golf balls and partake in a 'cold daddy' or two.
If you like Theme Parks keep in mind that south on Rt 13 will take you over the Bridge Tunnel into Norfolk where you can head to Williamsburg for a Day Trip.
Ski: If you like skiing you have your own private waterway to do whatever you want. You want to go fast, do it. You want to parasail, do it. You want to Jet Ski and Water Ski at the same time, do it. No holes barred and when I say private I mean PRIVATE, seeing is believing. Wait till you ski up to your own private deserted beach overlooking the Entrance to the Bay. Wow is all I can say.
