Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday chalet in Enumclaw - White Firs

home, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Spend your next vacation in a beautiful Crystal River Ranch mountain home near the Crystal mountain ski area and Mount Rainier Sunrise Lodge. In the spring, summer and fall travel across Chinook pass or White Pass over the Cascade Mountains or drive Cayuse Pass to Mt. Rainier’s Paradise Lodge. The CRR home is 65 miles, 90 minutes, from Seattle off highway 410, 10 miles from the White River/Sunrise entrance of Mt Rainier National Park and 18 miles from the Crystal Mountain ski area. In addition to riding the gondola to the 6872' Crystal Mountain Summit House for an alpine dinner, spectacular views of Mt. Rainier and a mountain top alpine adventure Crystal offers special summer events in their day lodge and base meadow.

In July through September the wild flowers on the upper elevations Mt. Rainier and Crystal are blooming. The National forest offers multiple day hike and overnight trails to crystal clear lakes and alpine meadows. From the White River campground experience high alpine weather and walk on the Inner glacier, the second most popular approach to Mt. Rainier’s summit. Or, drive to Sunrise and a Mt. Rainier National Park day lodge. The 90 mile Mount Rainer Wonderland trail circumnavigates the mountain and travels through Sunrise and the White River campground.

In the lowlands off highway 410 explore the banks of three rivers, go for a mountain bike ride , horseback ride, fish, relax or take a motorcycle trip across the Cascade Mountains on the Naches trail. Crystal River Ranch has a river walk, community center and recreation area. The cabin has a supply of outdoor furniture, a hammock and a tree swing for the kids.

Our Crystal River Ranch home accommodates a maximum of 6 people in three bedrooms, on two queen beds and two single beds. The loft bedroom is large and has its own bathroom. The second bathroom and two bedrooms are located on the main floor.

CRR is a community of part time and full time residents located at 2300’. A local herd of Elk wander the community and can be viewed on the roads, in yards and on the lawn of the community center. There are no businesses in the Ranch but a handful of stores and one dining/tavern option are two miles west in Greenwater. There are additional dining and store options east at Alta Vista and Crystal mountain or further west beyond Greenwater in Enumclaw.

The cabin is furnished with linens, towels, blankets, cutlery and all the pans you can imagine using. The only thing missing is you, your food, clothing, personal toiletries and 5 friends.

About Tom Coan

My time at the cabin is priceless. It is more than a stopping off spot to sleep and eat. It is an escape into the sights, smells, chill of the nights and outdoor exploration associated with camping in the woods. But, this cammping trip comes with hot/warm water, central heating, soft beds and warm blankets.

Tom Coan purchased this chalet in 2007

Why Tom Coan chose Washington

The ranch has a caretaker providing a secure environment and the home is close to our home in Seattle, Crystal saki area and Mt Rainier. We now snow ski several days in a row and cross country ski from our back door. When we aren't skiing we road and mountain bike, hike in the Nation forest and explore the forest service roads. On occasion we take a morning trip across Chinook pass for breakfast at Gold Creek or Whisky Jacks. Within 30 miles we can bike across three mountain passes or up to Sunrise on wide shoulders in slower car traffic than the other Cascade passes.

What makes this chalet unique

At 2300' elevation RR receives snow when snow is falling in the NW foothills. Summers are warmer than Seattle and it rains less frequent. There are walking trails running throughout the CRR community, one along the White river. Within walking distance forest service road 74 is gated and good for longer walks, very safe bike riding and cross country skiing.

A Crystal Mountain parking lot A reserved parking pass is provided during the ski season.

Great house!

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed this beautiful house. The setting was great, and had a big wraparound porch, hot tub, and fire pit which we used nightly. The hot tub was hot and had great jets. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. Even a waffle maker which we were excited to find. The beds were comfy. All together great place! Wish we had stayed longer.

Warm and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautifully decorated, warm, welcoming, and well maintained very well equipped house. Everything you need is provided to the last detail - all the cookware and dishes you could ever need, even little plastic bags to store left over food. Beds were very comfortable with nice fluffy pillows. Plenty of hot water and excellent heating system in the house, plus a romantic gas fireplace. Also, hot tub is adjustable so you can have it at your desired temperature. The owner provided excellent detailed instructions. Wifi and free phone ( inside US) were also provided since phone reception is sketchy depending on your server. All in all, a wonderful house to relax in after a day of hiking or skiing. Would love to come back next year.

Peaceful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this cabin so we could explore Mount Rainier and visit with our son. It was a perfect house to do this in. The house was very clean and so well thought out for guests. Plenty of kitchen gear for the meals I cooked. The living room had nice throws for those crisp days too. Great lighting for reading any place in the house. We also loved the fireplace which added so much ambience. A fire pit was all set up and unfortunately the night we were going to use it we had rain. Same with the hot tub, never could use. Too busy! If you are looking for a great location in this area look no further.

A Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We were very impressed with how clean this home was when we arrived. Very comfortable and well maintained home in a quiet area. We did see Elk grazing in the neighborhood. The home has just about anything you might need. Definitely exceeded our expectations and we would definitely stay here again.

Very Comfortable and Awesome Cabin

  • 5 of 5

I can only echo the other glowing reviews of this property. This was a grandparents/grandsons (sans parents) getaway. The cabin is beautifully decorated, spotless, spacious, and well-equipped. It's also well located whether you plan to ski at Crystal or head into Mt Rainier NP for hiking and sightseeing. The owner was most cooperative and communicates well, both by email and by the excellent instruction provided. The cabin includes a great video collection, games and puzzles, and nature books on plants, wildlife, etc.

We hope to get back on one of our future Seattle visits.
