Our family enjoyed this house from the moment we drove onto the cobblestone drive. It took me back in time to my grandmothers house where I spent many happy days. Thank you for sharing your fantastic antiques and spacious house! We loved it 😃

Time Traveling Trip
Overall we enjoyed the stay and had a great family New Year’s gathering. Since our son is stationed in Moody AFB it was perfect. As mentioned in the house details it was like traveling back in time to the 1900’s. We took lots of pictures, toured our friends who visited, and learned the history of the house; very interesting. The house is big with plenty of space to gather, relax, and have privacy. We travel with pets and the fenced backyard was a plus. The neighborhood is quiet and at walking distance from downtown Valdosta. The mall, grocery stores, hotels and many more places to eat or visit were a couple of miles away which was very convenient. The beds were cleaned and comfortable. However the house needs more TLC . Although we understand that it was booked before us, it needs more attention and better maintenance.
thank u for the imput.
we have got rid of the maid we have had since 2005.
she got too old for us and could not do a good job by herself.
he have hired a young maid that should get more detail cleaning done in the future.

Home with a lot of potential
We liked the house and antiques. It is not really child friendly. We moved all the glass antiques when we arrived. House needs a few repairs (door knobs were off and broken) . There was a board with a rusty nail sticking out in the Christmas room. Tile needs to be re grouted in the shower and it needs a shop vac all over the 2nd floor along the walls. Dust was so bad by 23 month old grandson coughed/sneezed for the two days we were there. Nice selection of movies and if the place wasn’t so dusty the antiques would have been amazing.
My daughters wanted to add, because of the safety side especially for children...
In 1906 this house was GORGEOUS... and if it would have been properly maintained this house could be amazing. However with the dust and water damage this house seems more like a hazard. While the house is listed as kid friendly (and even had toddler aged toys on the third floor) our children had to be confined to small areas and I was continually afraid they’d hurt something with all of the antiques. The amount of dust in the house is repulsive, my 2 year old spent the evenings in asthma breathing attack. The claw foot tub was pretty when it was new, but with the rust I didn’t feel comfortable putting my kids in it. The third floor is like climbing a small steep mountain and it had rails around the top but both of my children easily fit through them and could have fallen. We ended up blocking the stairs off so they couldn’t play up there. The doorknobs pulled out of doors and we had to remind the kids not to shut the doors in case they got locked in. The breaker in the bedroom with the 2 twins blew and we searched half the day for the panel. The storage closet in the same room has a legitimate hole big enough for an adult to fall through if there wasn’t carpet (this is where a water heater is, so eventually that will give out and fall through) and the bedroom threshold was not nailed down and was tripped over multiple times by our kids, my husband and I. The house has great potential but it was so dirty it was hard to enjoy.
for fixing the nail.
the home has been rented solid all fall and the one maid has the clean the 3 story house by herself.
from 11 am to 4pm is all the the time she has to do cleaning.
house will be open in jan and feb some so she will do the winter cleaning.
have rented house out since 2005 with no children issues.
u cant let the small ones go rampant in the house.
need to keep an eye on them.
we are considering raising the maid fee to pay 2 maids.
have not decided yet on that.

Cozy & Cool
Cute and cozy home. Very private and secluded. Close to downtown.
Beautiful old house but needs some TLC and a better housekeeper
Beautiful, huge house, but in need of a little TLC and a better housekeeper (especially for the high housekeeping fee) The upstairs bathroom floor slopes and is warped/soft feeling in several spots. The third floor room has 3 crawl spaces that are not secured well to keep kids out and has a sheet of plywood over an area and has a piece of window screening hanging loose over the plywood. The house could’ve been cleaner. I sent a message to the owners just to let them know (never got a response acknowledging my message); we were primarily there only at night, and I didn’t want someone coming in while we weren’t there. The third floor carpet had obviously not been vacuumed in a long time and the bathroom floor up there was dirty. There were also 3 dead roaches around the toys on the 3rd floor and one on one of the beds in the 3rd floor room. Our grandson didn’t want to play up there anyways, so we just avoided that floor completely. The first floor claw foot tub was so dusty that my daughter had to clean it before she used it. The wood floors and rugs looked clean until you looked at your socks after walking on them. On the last day, I had to get down on the rugs downstairs to make sure we got all of my grandson’s toys and that’s when I noticed how filthy the area rugs were. It didn’t appear that they had been vacuumed in a long time. If we had been spending more time at the house, other than just sleeping there, I would’ve definitely wanted the housekeeper to come back and clean thoroughly. The linens appeared clean. There is also a “house rule book” that we weren’t aware existed until we just happened to notice it in a stack of notebooks in the kitchen right before we left.
house has been rented solid since may.
maid does not have time to shampoo rug and for it to dry between 11 and 3.
fall cleaning was just done for they do the details.
upstairs bath floor was orgiallly a outide porch that slanted for water to run off.
it was turned into a bathroom back in the 40s.
house was built in 1906.
house is sprayed monthly and a dead bug means its working.
the maid has spent 3 days recently doing the fall cleaning.
this person just wanted to complain .
ps. remember this is a 1906 house full of antiques; not a modern home.
update: fired the maid after using her 23 years and also the maint man.
hired another maid and maint man but the cleaing fees are lot higher the the other.
they have been getting the home in shape.
thanks for letting us know.
