The picturesque approach to Belle Fontaine sets the mood for this elegant French Provence meets Creole style villa. A long stone walled drive, lined with tropical flowers and shrubs, brings you to the entrance filled with architectural beauty. Coral stones embedded with colorful ceramic tiles, Moorish inspired arches and windows trimmed in blue, country style shutters and terracotta roof offer an exotic tropical welcome. From the moment you step inside, the view spans before you. Swaying palms frame the sapphire blue sea, endless sky and the outline of Saba. Colorful tropical gardens surround the house and deck. The mood is very peaceful.
Set in expansive epi wood, the new double pool dazzles in blues. The smaller pool is inset with a tiled table, just waiting for your cold beverage. The larger pool is for swimming under the Caribbean sun. Surrounding the pool is crisp blue and white deck furniture that perfectly complements the view. Tall palms and native boulders accent the deck. A large gazebo, set to one side of the terrace, contains generous seating for lounging and dining, plus a built in BBQ. Its a superb place to relax and watch the colorful sunsets.
The cool interiors are designed to take full advantage of the view. Floor to ceiling glass doors, terracotta floors, high vaulted ceilings and arched windows accent the spacious areas for seating and dining. The dcor blends modern exotic lines with the softness of Provence. Rattan, teak and bleached woods are adorned with white and blue fabrics. Underfoot, oriental carpets add exotic color; eclectic decorative pieces complement the mood. The large, well equipped kitchen has a French country attitude. Large arched windows bring in the view and connect the kitchen to the terrace.
The five equal size bedrooms are spacious and glamourous. Three have sea views from the bedroom; two have garden views. The dcor is romantic in tranquil shades of white touched with color. The beautiful spa style bathrooms, detailed with fabulous fixtures, have a modern Moorish touch. Large walk-in showers overlook the sea or garden; one has a private outdoor patio.
Although quite secluded you are close to the Terres Basses beaches. You are two minutes to Baie Nettles fabulous restaurants and seven minutes to the charming French capital of Marigot with restaurants, the Creole Market, galleries and shopping. Its a 10 minute drive to the airport and 30 minutes to both Grand Case and Phillipsburg.

Belle Fontaine has been the perfect place to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. The spacious house has been superb for our big family, including my parent's in-laws aged 80 as well as our grandchildren, 3 and 7 years old. The view is amazing, and we have enjoyed the swimming pool, the ping pong table as well as our meals at the outside dining place. we ordered chef service at the villa by Jerome Flores. His food was delicious!
Jenny is great, we deeply appreciate her good work, help and friendliness.
A minor suggestion would be a better (bigger) coffee machine and a higher amount of large coffee cups, we Norwegians love coffee. :)
Our stay at the villa will be remembered for a long, long time! Thank you!
The villa far exceeded my expectations. It was a beautiful spot. The villa was well maintained. The service was exceptional. We've rented many villas, 7 that I can remember. This was, by far, the best experience. Having the concierge made the planning and experience very easy.
Belle Fontaine was even better in person than in the photos. It was the perfect spot for our family vacation. The views were amazing. The new pool fantastic. The rooms all so spacious, clean. The gazebo was one of our favourite spots! Jenny, the housekeeper was great- welcoming and efficient. This villa is highly recommended!
Our vacation in St. Martin was absolutely fabulous! We had a private chef who fed us superbly well and the island is quaint and quirky as well as beautiful so the experience was a lot of fun. Thanks Luxury Retreats!
There were 3 generations ranging from 25 to 75 years old on our family vacation at Belle Fountaine. The villa provided plenty of privacy and great common areas for enjoying each other's company, swimming, playing games, and dining.
The youngest rough housed in the big pool while the grandparents watched in relaxing of the jetted pool.
Unfortunately Pinel Isaland access was not available due to a workforce strike so we didn't get to enjoy lobster on the beach which is one of our favorites trips when in st marten. On the plus side, our concierge recommended a private catamaran charter that allowed us to go where ever we wanted. We will definitely be doing this again on our next trip back.
This villa is amazing. The pool was gorgeous and clean. The outside space and general set up was perfect. Our whole group felt at home and completely relaxed. Jenny, the housekeeper, is the most gracious and sweet woman in the world. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the views and surrounding landscape was breathtaking. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
