Beautiful 1800’s Renovated Farmhouse with WIFI/DishTV and Cell Phone Coverage
This beautiful farmhouse was hit by Hurricane Irene in 2011 and has been fully renovated. The walls and ceilings were removed and new sheetrock, windows, electricity and plumbing have been added. The original hardwood floors have been restored to their natural beauty.
The house is located on an 85-acre farm in the beautiful Schoharie Valley. The owner of the property lives in the back portion of the house. There are no connecting doors between the two apartments.
The view from your front porch is stunning, overlooking local farms and mountains in the distance. You will be surrounded by cornfields on all sides of the property in the summer. You will hear the lovely sound of the braying of the farm's donkeys, Jack and Jill. They are adorable donkeys that love to run and play. During the April snowstorm of 2016, another donkey was born. His name is Donkee. Mommy Cat and daughter Petunia can be seen roaming around. The four chickens will come to greet you too.
If you enjoy nature, you can take a walk up the mountain behind the house where you might come across a deer or some wild turkeys. The view of the valley from the top of the mountain is incredible. You can also take a short walk up Vroman’s Nose in Middleburgh or take a hike along the mountain ridge in town. During the winter snowy months, the home is located on the snowmobile trail.
Your rental is an expansive 1,800 square feet with a full kitchen including beautiful cherry cabinets and stainless steel appliances. There is a large open concept living room, full bath and laundry room on the first floor. The second floor has three bedrooms, The Captains Quarters and The Victorian Room each have a full bed and The Bunkhouse Room has four twin beds. There is also a ¾ bath upstairs.
The house is fully furnished including a flat screen TV. High speed internet and Dish TV are amenities included in your rental. You should be able to get cell service in the valley.
Guests will be responsible for the care and maintenance of the rental during their stay. There will be no maid service available. You must bring your own food and personal items.
