Wonderful place to gather with family

  • 4 of 5

We spent 4 days at the ranch at Thanksgiving. All of our kids and grandkids were able to join us for the weekend. The views are beautiful! There was plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy our time together. We loved the big old stove in the kitchen, it made it possible for us to cook our entire Thanksgiving dinner there! I can imagine it would lots to fun to be there in the summer and go horseback riding or hiking in the mountains that are literally right out the front door! Our favorite part of the house was the dining room with the huge table. It was big enough for 12 of us to gather around and eat our meals and then later play games together. There were a few games already there, and we brought some of our own. There is no TV but we certainly didn't miss it at all! We really appreciated the high speed internet because the AT&T tower was out of service for the entire valley so our only way to communicate with family members traveling to meet us there was thru the internet. The only downside was the bed arrangement. There was 1 queen bed and 1 king bed and the rest of the beds were twin beds. 1 bunk bed with a trundle and 1 other twin with a trundle. It worked well for the kids and we brought an air mattress to use in the living room so it worked out for us. There is a nice cozy wood stove in the living room so that was great for the cold nights! Overall we would definitely return and stay here again!

A quiet beautiful place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

Music Meadows Ranch is a fun little ranch to stay at; it has great views all around and very peaceful and quiet. Our budget at the time didn’t allow for us to ride the horses and our son wanted to ride. A year back or so he fell off a running horse and was pretty shaken up; the owner was very gracious and kind to give our son a short controlled ride for free and our son, who is six years old now, is comfortable with horses again. The house we stayed in on the ranch is very clean and the kitchen is well stocked. It was fun to make coffee on a gas stove with a coffee percolator. In the summer there is plenty of hiking and fishing at the small lakes owned by Music Meadows; they even have fishing equipment you can borrow. My family definitely would stay there again.

Owner's Response: We loved having you and your family and your little boy really took to the horse... love the way kids can rebound! Your appreciation for all that the ranch has to offer is what jazzes us and makes it all worthwhile. Looking forward to your return one day. Elin and Rhoda

Fantastic hidden gem

  • 4 of 5

Exceeded the expectation for a quick getaway. With the wife not able to take a trip with is, we planned a short stay at the ranch. All three of my kids had a blast and the memories made were worth it all. Horseback riding , fishing, and a xampfire for smores in the evening. We all want to go back !

Could not have been better

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I booked 3 nights at Music Meadows ranch for a "girls weekend" getaway with our horses. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The owners were amazing, friendly, easy to work with and incredibly welcoming. The house itself was cozy and perfect for our group. The horse accommodations were excellent. And the riding... oh, the riding. I've hiked and climbed in the Sangre de Cristo mountains most of my life but never had the opportunity to explore them on horseback. And explore we did. We rode from the ranch several days and trailered up to ride Music Pass on one day - and, well, you would be hard pressed to find more spectacular scenery anywhere in the world. This is not easy riding country, but if you and your horse are fit, this is a vacation you will never, ever forget.
