Perfect for our family

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from our stay, this home was perfect for our family of 4, the house is cute, cozy, not exactly modern, but exceptionally clean!!!! We particularly loved the screened in porch to sit quietly, relax, and unplug. The house is a minutes walk to the bus stop, and a short drive to town. We would certainly rent this home again! It's a gem!

great location to get everywhere BUT!

  • 3 of 5

the cottage location is marvelous for getting everywhere, the excellent bus service a short walk away makes that the most inexpensive item of the stay on MVI. The island is a wonderful place to visit. I cannot recommend the cottage itself as I was ill the first 3 days from the mold in the basement and on basement door. There is no air conditioning and we arrived to temps in high 80s. So we went and bought a room air conditioning unit(which we left for the owner) , we closed off the bedroom with access to basement and I was able to enjoy the remainder of our week. Cleaning of the basement and treatment of the mold issue needs to be done before renting anymore.

Owner's Response: Dear Guests, I just woke to read your review of our cottage and have to say I'm quite disappointed. While having a cottage on an Island comes with dealing with dampness and moisture I have to say your claims of mold are quite exaggerated. We had 5 renters previous to you, the last being the week before your arrival, and not one complained of any mold situation. In fact you'll see that all previous reviews are quite complimentary. You were there during a very hot and humid week and perhaps there was something else in the air that made you ill or something else entirely. We arrived the day of your departure to check on the cottage for the next renter and were just puzzled by your note about the "bad air". However, we were more dismayed with the mess you left us to clean up after. Sorry things didn't work out.

A true vacation

  • 5 of 5

This cozy, user-friendly house/cottage is a wonderful place to stay while on Martha's Vineyard. It has the appeal of being in a quiet neighborhood so that you can "unplug," and it's also only about 1.5 miles to Vineyard Haven--easy walk or bike ride--so it's accessible to restaurants, shops, groceries, etc. The highlights for our family (family of four with children ages 4 and 7) were the outdoor shower (shower under the stars), the big deck for eating outside, the clothes line and ample yard, and the general simplicity of the place. We felt totally at home and at ease. If you don't have a car, there's a bus stop at the end of the street. When we were packing up to leave I said, "Let's book it for the same week next year." You'll just want to go back.

Clean, Cozy and Affordable!!!

  • 4 of 5

The property was clean and convenient to all towns and was close to the Vineyard Haven ferry port. The owner was in contact with us via text & cell phone often. We were concerned because it is not air conditioned, but we visited in mid-July and we were quite comfortable. It was super affordable and cozy...it was an exceptional bargain. My sisters and I were quite pleased with the value this cozy cottage provided. I would recommend this property to a friend or relative and we enjoyed several restaurants on Martha's Vineyard. We especially liked Newes, 7a and The Black Dog Tavern. Chilmark Chocolates was a highlight for us and the General Store in Chilmark had such unique items we visited there twice!

Perfect spot!

  • 5 of 5

We had the best week in MV! The house was adorable, with a huge front porch--perfect for grilling, and a big yard where we played wiffle ball most afternoons. It is walking distance from Vineyard Haven, where they had tons of cute shops and they even had a street fair one afternoon. The drive to OB and Edgartown were both quick, and I believe there was even a bus stop at the top of the street! We were very pleased with our stay at this location, and will most defineity be back.

Thanks for having us!!!

The Best Place To Escape The Real World

  • 5 of 5

This cozy cabin had everything we needed to make a wonderful family vacation. I needed to connect with my four children without electronics and the regular day to day things. This place was perfect. For starters the neighborhood was peaceful with a lot of locals with children so mine could play outside with any worry. The cabin was located next to everything we rode our bikes everywhere , shopping, restaurants , ferry , everything! It had games , pingpong table , cards and board games. I can't guarantee your trip will be as magical , but I'm booking this place every year from my experience.
