About Thea

I am Italian and I have been living in this beautiful area for almost 40 years. I know it very well since I have been working in the local tourism industry for 25 years and will be happy to provide you with all the information you may need to have a great vacation! I am not going to be present during your stay but will be available via phone, e-mail or text. I have 2 large dogs who stay in the property sometime when there are no guests. Please feel free to contact me with any question. Although I am fluent only in English and Italian I will be able to exchange written communications also in German, French, Spanish and Portuguese. I am a nature lover and, if you are too, I can give you suggestions for hikes and excursions around this area. My dogs are my best friends and I understand the importance to share a vacation with them. If you are a responsible dog owner and your pet is well behaved, both of you are going to really enjoy the house!

Why Thea chose California

My husband and I bought this property 20 years ago and put a lot of work in it to make it spacious and comfortable. His green thumb and artistic nature transformed a yard of gravel and cement in a lush garden with trees, shrubs and flowers everywhere. Although the property is located very close to the city we love the tranquility of this area and the proximity to beaches, forests and mountains. A very relaxing place without crime, noise and pollution.

What makes this house unique

This is the perfect place to relax and rest after a fun filled day of sightseeing and exploring the magnificent region with all its amenities,

Charming garden home with fantastic proximity to all things bay related!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four(parents and teenage boys) loved staying at Thea's garden retreat. The home is clean, comfortable and decorated with lovely furnishings. We enjoyed the down comforters on chilly mornings and appreciated the nice bedding. The kitchen is well-stocked and we were pleasantly surprised that many amenities(coffee etc.) were already in the cupboards! We enjoyed drinking coffee in the backyard and viewing the beautiful gardens(saw many hummingbirds). Our favorite part of every day was coming home late afternoon and enjoying the sun-drenched warmth of the California sunshine streaming in through the back doors!

The proximity to all the sites in the bay area is perfect. We day tripped to San Fran, Muir Woods, Point Reyes, Sonoma and Half Moon Bay. It is the perfect location! I highly recommend this home and would love to go back again. The Swenson Family, St.Paul, MN

Secret garden retreat with access to all San Francisco has to offer

  • 5 of 5

My family (two adults and two small children) really enjoyed this home for a week in July. The home is well appointed with a very functional kitchen and clean bedrooms. Great living space. The gardens in the back are beautiful and have a "secret" door to a wonderful community park that our kids enjoyed almost every evening after our adventures.

The best part of this home though is its proximity to fantastic sights in and around San Francisco. The Golden Gate bridge is 10 minutes away or if you prefer a ferry ride you can catch that from Sausalito (5 minutes away). The home is close to Muir Beach and Muir Woods and Napa Valley is about 30-45 minutes away. A great base of operations to see a lot of the San Francisco Bay area.

Highly recommend.

Gardens and patio

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful garden with patio and great location close to the city. Super easy to find and fast access to wine country or back to the city. It's a comfortable, quite home with ample room and a nice host. I would stay here again.

Wonderful home and location

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at Thea's Mill Valley house. The location was perfect for accessing San Fransico, Muir Woods, and the wine country. We all loved the garden area, and the two young children loved playing on the adjacent playground. The house is well appointed but still very family friendly (my son asked if we could move in "forever"). Thea is a very responsive host and made the arrangements very easy. We would definitely return and we highly recommend the property.

springtime bliss.

  • 5 of 5

we recently stayed at this mill valley house. it's the second time that we've selected this house as our "home away from home" for SF vacations. both experiences were terrific. the house is peaceful and comfortable, and we especially enjoy the front and back garden areas. the entire yard is lush with beauty and uniqueness. with each walk around the garden, i find something new and beautiful to enjoy. it's the perfect retreat after a busy day of sightseeing. we love the location, too. it's close to the city, beaches, muir woods and wine country. also, the community of mill valley is lovely and has a very safe and friendly atmosphere, with lots of great restaurants and stores. another plus is that off street parking is available right on the property, so no need to search for parking at the end of each day. the owner, thea, is a very nice and helpful person should you have any questions or special requests. this house definitely gets our five star rating!

Comfortable and clean home away from home!

  • 4 of 5

Thank you so much for providing our family of five such a comfortable and lovely home for our spring break. Your gardens around the house made us feel like we were tucked away on an island, and the back gate to the park provided hours and hours of fun for the kids. The house was very clean when we arrived and we took full advantage of the kitchen with many necessities already stocked. The big couches were the perfect place for everyone to rest our feet after long days of site seeing. With family in the area we will definitely be back soon. Thank you so much!
