I am Italian and I have been living in this beautiful area for almost 40 years. I know it very well since I have been working in the local tourism industry for 25 years and will be happy to provide you with all the information you may need to have a great vacation! I am not going to be present during your stay but will be available via phone, e-mail or text. I have 2 large dogs who stay in the property sometime when there are no guests. Please feel free to contact me with any question. Although I am fluent only in English and Italian I will be able to exchange written communications also in German, French, Spanish and Portuguese. I am a nature lover and, if you are too, I can give you suggestions for hikes and excursions around this area. My dogs are my best friends and I understand the importance to share a vacation with them. If you are a responsible dog owner and your pet is well behaved, both of you are going to really enjoy the house!
Thea purchased this house in 1993
My husband and I bought this property 20 years ago and put a lot of work in it to make it spacious and comfortable. His green thumb and artistic nature transformed a yard of gravel and cement in a lush garden with trees, shrubs and flowers everywhere. Although the property is located very close to the city we love the tranquility of this area and the proximity to beaches, forests and mountains. A very relaxing place without crime, noise and pollution.
This is the perfect place to relax and rest after a fun filled day of sightseeing and exploring the magnificent region with all its amenities,
This is the third time I have stayed at this wonderful home that's loaded with everything and anything anyone could possibly want or need during a vacation stay.
It is absolutely perfect -- From its fully-stocked kitchen and bathroom to its spacious patio and backyard gardens, it's like a small oasis. It's here you can relax, and leave your stress, and worries behind.
The homeowner, Thea, is the most gracious person you'd ever want to meet. I can't say enough about her or her lovely home, there isn't enough space here.
If you want to stay in a clean, beautiful home where you can kick up your feet, and enjoy yourself, this is the place.
We will be back for our fourth stay in the fall, as we would never consider any other place.
Thank you, Thea.
The pictures of the front and back gardens belie their unkempt state - many weeds and dead foliage. The word messy comes to mind for the outside area and the inside cupboards and closets. Many bottles of condiments and spices and partially used boxes in the refrigerator and kitchen cabinets with no way of knowing expiration dates. Unsafe to use even though I was invited to do so. Likewise the bathroom closet had MANY partially used shampoo and lotion bottles of dubious origin. Who needs eight shampoo and conditioner bottles in the small shower/bathtub? It's obvious the owner does not spend any time living there.
From fast wifi connections to new flat-screen TV's to just about every kitchen appliance and convenience a person could wish for, Thea's house was exceptionally well-equipped. Our kids live not far away, so Thea's became the venue for family dinners, and it was nice to find that there was a well-stocked pantry with spices and condiments, as well as the usual (and specialized) cooking utensils and kitchen gadgets. The only possible drawback, although the fact was plainly described ahead of time, is that there is one bathroom to be shared between the two bedrooms. The couple with whom we shared the home were very good friends, easy-going, considerate and flexible, so the bathroom did not pose a problem, but there were times when another bath would have been welcomed.
The radiantly-heated floors were a treat on the cool December Marin County days, and the view to the lush backyard area was serene. In summary, a pleasant vacation stay in a nice neighborhood, convenient to local restaurants or to the City with a short drive across the Golden Gate Bridge. And for those with exercise in mind, there are wonderful hiking trails that wind over the hill to the ocean!
We had a fantastic time, the house was perfect would definitely stay again
This is absolutely the best rental there is and it all starts with the owner, Thea. She is a remarkable host. Her house is the perfect place to host a Thanksgiving. This was our second stay and we look forward to many more. Everything one could want for a home away from home is here, including flowers in the garden! Just amazing how comfortable the home is. Can't wait till next year! Thanks, Thea.
Just a few minutes north of the Golden Gate and close to everything the Bay Area and many other attractions have to offer, Thea's home is in a nice and quiet upscale neighborhood where you will feel at home and where everything has been thought out for your comfort. Never had we stayed at a VRBO property where you basically found all you needed to make the best of your stay. We thank Thea for Being a wonderful host and for sure we look forward to coming back soon.
