We are a busy family and love to have a place to relax, enjoy nature and a place to do some gardening. Everyone helps out or has projects at the property like stocking the pond with fish, cutting wood, etc.
This is our weekend retreat and we enjoy being there. One can catch and release fish at the pond, use the fire pit to roast marshmallows or enjoy a walk at the property
The Cabins located in an acreage but within city limits and close to all city facilities so you can enjoy both worlds. The house accommodates more guests then a hotel room plus you have a kitchen and 2 living rooms all to yourself and your party!
Good stay for the price. Bring your own pillows if you are allergic to animals.
Patty and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the country. Accommodations were very pleasant and comfortable. We particularly appreciated the very capable air conditioning given the heat and humidity when we arrived in Des Moines. The setting in the midst of cornfields & woods was peaceful and quiet and ideal for rest and recuperation after the excitement of our family reunion activities. My daughter, her husband and my grandchildren felt the same. The boys, aged 2 1/2 & 6 really enjoyed our walks around the property. The only problem we had, very low water flow from the kitchen faucet, was addressed immediately when we mentioned it. A toaster would have been nice but otherwise all was very good!
Any time we visit Des Moines in the future and are unable to stay with relatives we will be wanting to come back to the "cabin" in the country.
This cabin is about 10 minutes for downtown Des Moines. It's a 2 bedroom with a very open floor plan. It was clean and well maintained. The tv has a built-in DVD player. And though they don't have Wi-Fi, we always had 4g on our phones and tablets. We enjoyed our stay.
The cabin was perfect for our needs- there was a fully stocked kitchen, and plenty of options for sleeping. It was almost up to hotel standards of cleanliness, only saw some dust on the tops of cabinets. The only minor issue was how long it took to get hot water to the kitchen sink.
